Sure but he doesn't go missing in that many. I just think Pogba goes missing too much, even if he is only 23. I don't care what anyone says about him being played out of position during the euros, his lack of impact and ability to dominate was very concerning in my view.

The way I see it is would he improve the team, and the answer is yes I think he will quite dramatically.

The headline is true, but true for Adidas, not for MUFC. They have been pushing the transfer all along. It just goes to show how much power all these brands have over football nowadays.

Can't blame them really, must be hard for them to believe he'd be so disrespectful, so him staying is maybe all that makes sense.

And thats a reasonable perspective. The problem with me suggesting alternatives is I will have a deluge of folks on here laughing because the alternatives to Pogba are far less glamourous box-to-boxers. I'm not going to even bother with suggestions because, rightly, I'll be told there is no alternative. That doesn't make Pogba the right player for us, necessarily.
I'm genuinely interested but i'd imagine you might be thinking of unobtainable players, like Kroos, he is the only one I would outright prefer at this point.
And he has won what 4 CL finals absolutely starring? I think most would accept, those 3 international finals aside, Messi's consistency in big games is pretty outstanding. Anyway, you are kind of making another point I'd like to make. Are you actually comparing the impact Pogba will have to that of Messi? Expectations around this guy are going to be ludicrous. Absolutely ludicrous. With the fee involved people are going to expect a world beater every game. I think he'll disappoint.
Kroos was actually the one I said earlier in the thread. I'd love Veratti too. Either of those two would be my preference over Pogba.
Not at all, its messi, point i'm making is even the best go missing in the big games and messi has undoubtedly done that on many occasions.
And just to add on as we are having two separate conversations for some reason. Kroos I would prefer as well. Veratti too. But there is absolutely no scenario or amount of money we could get them for.

Every player goes missing from time to time. I'd love to see an example of a big game where Pogba has absolutely dominated. I haven't seen one and, yes, I do watch Serie A. Yes he has moments of brilliance but for a so-called box-to-box midfielder you need more than moments. You need dominance, leadership and drive over the course of 90mins. I've never seen that from Pogba.
Just put yourself in the shoes of a Juve fan for a moment, and you see your star player already signing shirts and balls of the team where he is going to next. Wouldn't you think it's disrespectful to your club? Wouldn't you be upset?
Juve could end the show right away by announcing early what everyone knows is a done deal (except its not done till its done). But then again, Adidas wants to squeeze the most awareness and clicks out of the impending deal, and Juve announcing early would ruin all that.
I think it's an exciting signing that will lift everyone but I don't have huge expectations of him. Its a bit of a luxury signing, if we get some moments of brilliance from him it will be worth it. His personality alone lifts everyone. Thats my issue with Pogba. You'll get moments from him not proper midfield general stuff. An expensive luxury!

No nor have I, my point was just that nobody dominates every game like the big two do. Pogba at the minute is more a flashes of brilliance kind of player, but so was the last player to break the transfer record. He certainly has the drive and the leadership, the dominance hasn't developed properly yet because of his age and the midfields he has been involved with. Juve's improvement over the season with him starting to understand he is now top dog though proves he can do it.
Well I don't think he dominated midfield for France in any game in the euros. He had a very poor CL final against Barca two years ago I think. I must confess I didn't see Juve's QF this year so can't comment. But in Serie A in big games I would argue the likes of Marchisio or even Tevez when he was there had a bigger influence than Pogba. I know you'll tell me his is young but back to my core issue with him. He's being touted as a box-to-box midfielder. We need a box-to-box midfielder. Pogba will never be that kind of player in my view.
Which makes it false, to be fair. Unless Adidas are feeling particularly generous, and they donate their share to United, United won't see a cent of that. It's just terrible, lazy journalism.
All these rag papers just take a bit of truth and twist it around in any way they want to, to sell more papers. And why not if it works?
I don't think Messi or Ronaldo dominate every game. The usually produce moments of genius in every game and their club teams are built around them to allow them that luxury. In both cases those clubs have midfielders that dominate game after game. Players like Modric, Kroos, Iniesta and even Busquets are the key here. They are midfield players who dominate the midfield. What I don't understand about Pogba is he NEVER dominates midfield in the way these players do, yet he's being touted as a world class box-to-box midfielder. He is just not that kind of player.

Well but he played a big part in them getting to the Euros. Fatigue could have been a factor towards the end of the tournament. Ronaldo had a very poor CL final against Barca. This past year he scored against Bayern in the away leg but his team still lost. You still havent given any evidence he actually goes missing in the Serie A. You havent seen enough of him or you're going by what the journalists say.
Not a great deal - I watched him every week in U18s and 21s he was with us. Every time I've watched him since I see the same strengths and weaknesses as he had then. Of course he has improved but the qualities remain. He's at his best driving towards goal

Pogba could well be signing all sorts of shirts right now. It's just that the United shirts and other merch are the ones that are spreading on twitter and instagram. We all want Pogba announced asap, but to say that Juve not announcing now is disrespectful is absurd, especially if you're basing this on what Pogba does or does not do.
IF... as some people are suggesting, we're holding off on announcing anything because today is all about Zlatan.. Then Juventus could be proper cnuts and announce it in the next hour.. Would overshadow all pre-match and post-match talk. Hell, it's probably all that the commentators would talk about during the match, too.
Its more of a silent domination but it is real, you have to tie up so many resources trying to deal with them that in a sense they are dictating the game just by being on the pitch, then eventually after engineering a chance they can be the difference maker then.
Moddy kroos iniesta and busquets are all better than pogba, I agree they are the ones that control the tempo of the game but those are four of the best of the business and completely unavailable, when you look in to players after those four it really is a struggle to think of someone who can do that.
They get like 10% and high sales numbers puts them in a strong position for negotiating future kit deals. So it is not true United won't see a cent of that.

I am not saying that Juve not announcing is disrespectful. What a Juve fan might find disrespectful and annoying is Pogba signing MUFC shirts without the deal having been confirmed by either club.
