Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

And you know this how?
Do you have some inside information on either United or Juve's end that says it's no way near happening? For all we know the deal is done pending Pogba signing. United rarely announce they've agreed a fee with another club pending a medical. At least, they've not done it in a while. You could say Juve might announce that we've agreed a fee, but they don't have too if they don't want too. They could announce that Pogba is leaving shortly before we announce he's signed. We'll just have to see what order it's done

Actually.. Forget all that.
We signed Depay just last season and announced that a deal had been reached pending a medical!

We've been doing it since forever, since we agreed terms for Ramsey!

I can say am alive when some fans thought Matuidi, Kante and Gundogan are same level with Pogba.

To be fair, before Gundogans injuries, I wouldn't say he was any worse than Pogba. Pogba is the better player now but Gundogan is a really good player when on form and Pep will be very good for him. I'd love Gundogan with us, but yeah, Would prefer Pogba.

He's sort of a hybrid of Yaya and Viera in their respective primes, except a bit better.

A prime Yaya Toure smashed in 20 league goals and grabbed 9 assists. You really think Pogba is better than that, at this current moment in time?

Football is not just about stats. Pogba has so much more to his game. If you go by stats, Vieira scored like 5 goals a season which with your own yardstick would not make him a good player.

We'll have to wait and see won't we ;) Expectations will be big but sometimes a deal like this can make a player go up to the next level

He wasn't just good statistically that year though, he was just unstoppable. Some of the runs he made through midfield were sensational. He was incredible both to watch and in terms of productivity.

I'd be very surprised if Pogba was able to match that already. In the future it's possible, but for that season Yaya was in god mode.

Yes, he's just now hitting his prime years. I think he will be one of the best of this generation.

Fair enough. Personally I still think he's a reasonable way off the Yaya of that season, but we'll see. Quite excited/intrigued to see how he'll get on in the Premier League.

Yeah I'd agree with that. Be very surprised if Pogba is at that sort of level straight away. Toure was quite a player for City.

Yaya was very good in the Prem that season, but he was poor in the CL.

Think Pogba will fare better in the CL personally.

Happen to agree with this.
He is just 23, and scary at already how good he is.

We are basically getting Pogba at the same point as when Madrid got Ronaldo. All the best years still ahead of him.

If he's as good as the Yaya of that season, you win the league to be honest. Unless the rest of your team performs pitifully.

I think it's likely that he'll have a solid first season and then build on it, rather than immediately tearing the league up.

Despite all the 'he prefers Madrid crap' we've been hearing perhaps Pogba has always had a desire to come back. Unfinished business for lack of a better term.

No but Yaya was playing in an excellent team that had been developed over a number of years. I don't really see the comparison right now and Pogba is only 23 so let's see how he develops, right now I don't see a comparison with anybody but his talent is clearly evident.

The only difference being that Ronaldo was obviously a lot better when he left us.

Pogba right now isn't as good as prime Viera or Toure, no way. But he has every chance to surpass both when he does hit his prime.

I do think he needs to hit the ground running for us if / when he signs. Im also wondering what output is acceptable given the money paid?
10 goals, 15 assists? More? Less?

Or does it not matter as long as we dominate games / win.

Acceptable to whom? If we win the league I wouldn't give a toss if we'd dropped £35m on Troy Deeney.

And after two seasons of LvG, a single screamer from outside the area is worth £50m to me.

Well he managed 8 goals 12 assists in Serie A last season, and Juventus are a level above any other side in the league. He was also very settled there and arguably it's a weaker league than the Prem.

So based on that, I'd expect around 5 goals and 10 assists in the league next season.

I'm not comparing them (although Pogba isn't far behind despite being a completely different type of player).

I also think it's done, but I bet Real fans were equally convinced they had a shiny new keeper last year too. So, odd things happen sometimes. Go get them
Pessimists.

Yep, that's why I refuse to jump into this lovely warm 'Pogba is definitely done' camp until I see the United website confirm it.

I allowed myself to believe Thiago was already a United player, after that I vowed never again.

I didn't claim you were, just pointing out that unlike Real, we're spending a world record fee who isn't in the discussion for best player in the world. And yes, they are hard to compare due to being different players, but I wouldn't say Pogba isn't far behind.

Looking forward to clicking onto RedCafe soon and being met with...
