"Champions league is my level".
He just undone any good they done up until the Defoe sub.Gordon Ramsay's even scruffier cousin cost them two points. What a totally pointless and spineless manager.
You play a side that thrives with possession and putting the opponent under pressure, take of your striker and invite more pressure, real clever there Moyesy.
Defoe for McNair is the epitome of the Moyes pussy-ass substitution.
Everyone knew it would backfire the minute it happened.
Reminds me of the time we were 1-0 up at home to Southampton. He brought Smalling on for Rooney with five minutes left and they equalised from a corner!
Probably mick McCarthy statisticallySunderland and Moyes are perfect for each other. Miserable negative shite.
Reckon he could manage to be the worst PL Sunderland manager ever? Who currently holds that record?
I think it was a fair decision.
If he did the same as a United manager it would be kind of pathetic but they were away at City with a very shit Sunderland squad. Maybe he thought Mcnair would control the game a bit more while Defoe was just an extra man out there.
2-1 because of an Own Goal. If I were a sunderland fan I'd be excited for the season .
It was immediately obvious what would happen. Go look at the match thread, so many people called it.I think it was a fair decision.

Some people just can't let it go. Funny because people get annoyed at Moyes for not letting things go yet the same people are still raging over a guy they want nothing to with anymore. Your classic internet warriors. The reactions in here are pathetic. Are you just going to jump on every little thing? McNair could do nothing about that. It was an unfortunate own goal.
He is the Sunderland manager. Judge him on the expectations of Sunderland and relative to the quality he has now. I thought they did well and soaked up the pressure when I expected them to buckle 5 mins in. They also had a few openings where with a bit more quality could have done more.
He'll do a good job there.

People are not mad because it is Moyes. People are saying that sub is classic Moyes because he has shown himself to be so scared of losing that his subs are negative many times, which end up backfiring most times. Some people just can't let it go. Yeah it's ironic because Moyes just can't let it go and some people who dislike him can't let it go and can't accept that he can't let it go, and then we have the folk who rush to every Moyes thread to tell others to let it go but again ironically they themselves can't accept the fact that others can't let it go and can't let that go either.
So basically all as bad as each other.
I thought he was going to a back 5 when he brought McNair on. It was the obvious thing to do with City going 2 up top. Instead it stayed 4 atb. No surprise that they got overloaded and McNair scored the own goal because he had to run back instead of staying goalside.
He said during the week that Januzaj needs to stop blaming others for failure....
David Moyes said that.... Let that sink in
He is spot on in fairnessHe said during the week that Januzaj needs to stop blaming others for failure....

He has said what a lot of the fans have said here, it has sunk in.. He reads the caf?He said during the week that Januzaj needs to stop blaming others for failure....

That was one of the Moyesiest things Moyes has ever done. Take off Defoe and put in a CB in the 80th minute to hold a 1-1 lead was the perfect example of his cowardly tactics. Honestly gave me flash backs when the same thing happened about 3 years ago at OT.
He is spot on in fairness
He is his managerThe same David Moyes, who blamed everyone for his shortcomings?
Seriously?
Januzaj is clearly a fecking idiot....But for Moyes to say that?! The lack of self awareness on his part is astounding
Come on...
He is his manager
He is managing him. He isn't going to change how he treats his players just because he felt butt hurt and blamed others for fecking up at Utd
Get over your hateHave you seen his quotes?
He went to town on Kenwright, claiming he only ever gave 5 million to spend on a transfer budget..That's not a lie, but the truth. He said that
He blames everyone, except himself, for his failings here and in Spain, yet he publicly says Januzaj needs to stop blaming everyone else for his failings
Whether he's right or wrong about Januzaj (I think he's shit tbh) It's laughable he can say that
He is spot on in fairness
