David Moyes | West Ham in talks with him for managerial job

Looking through the Sunderland forums....they really hate Jack Rodwell on there. Apparently they haven't won a single league game when he's started for them. 0 wins and 35 loses/draws is the current record when he starts. fecking hell.
 How's that even possible for a mid-table team?

Would feel sorry for Sunderland, but they don't half stink the Premier league out, not to mention being about as far away from where I live as it gets.
Horrible place, team, and then Moyes on top. A fitting coupling to ensure relegation

Brings it all back.
The way he talked about the squad of winners at the start, to quickly change that to needing however many top players to win Europe, to changing it to how he needed to perform major surgery.

If we'd have started the next season slowly, after his new signings, he'd have probably talked about staying up as the aim

He has this kind of smug defiant attitude, as if people don't have the right to question him about anything. He seems pissed off because he can't understand why anyone would doubt him. He's so fecking delusional it's scary.

Asking 'why would it change?' - well Moysie - your the new boss, people are looking for you to improve things you daft sod

Oh Davie Moyes  he probably realised what a mess it is and that it wasnt the best move for him. You deserve it, you smug cnut.

This was the part that got me. It would/could change because you're the new manager you fecking clown. Just incredible, I supported him for a long time when he was with is but jesus he is incredibly dense.

Isn't that the reason he was employed?? Didn't he say that Sunderland were a team that should not be fighting relegation and he was there to move them forward?? I thought he was employed to get them achieving and realizing their potential?? What a clown! :wenger:

''So why would it suddenly change?''

Oh i don't know Dave perhaps because the club decided to employ you because they thought you might be able to change it, or at the very least act like you could.

Between this and the guff he was spouting at his first press conference about Sunderland being below his level, it seems to me like he's already looking past this job.

Painting it as a mission impossible, so if they go down he can say it wasn't his fault but if they stay up it's because of his managerial expertise.

Next season.

They'll not expect to be in a relegation battle in the Championship.

Sunderland could have done a lot better after Allardyce became England manager, but instead they went for one of the worst managers that was available in Moyes

They deserve him, I still remember their celebrations in 2012 and their Brexit vote, hope they go down

This. Down they go. Miou.

He's still banging on about getting to the byline, as if that's some big attacking accomplishment.

 He's a few weeks into the job and already acting smug and throwing the players under the bus. It's NEVER his fault.

Even at 20 his mug was hugely inspiring

Their squad is Championship level but he's a Champions League quality manager*. They'll finish Top 10 comfortably**.

*In his own mind
**In the Championship next year

He's gone by November for me, just goes to show how good a manager Allardyce actually is.

He basically told that to our players too when by September he was already telling us that he needed 5 or 6 players to complete.

He loves his excuses Moysie.

I loathe the guy these days. Seems so dependent on excuses and I can't imagine it is a happy place to be playing over at Sunderland...

Spent too much time in Liverpool. Always the victim, it's never his fault.

I think this year is Sunderland's year to go down.

He seems hellbent on trying divert blame from himself. One thing Moyes was brilliant in doing was lowering expectations.

The Sunderland fans don't need someone reading their final rites just two games into the season. They need someone that will galvanize support with some positivity. He mentions that Sunderland have been in relegation battle for 4 years . But they haven't been relegated either over that period. A clever manager would try to put a positive spin on that.

We all know why he says this things though.

If Sunderland are relegated - ''Well I told you they were crap''
If they stay up ''Look at what David Moyes can do ''

I actually feel sorry for Sunderland fans for having to put up with his shit. The man is an imbecile and a delusional feckwit.

..except they were not instructed to fill Defoe leaving. Moyes was incompetent.

EDIT: Unless you are saying Borini or Januzaj were incompetent.

No their intention was to have men behind defending the last 5-6 minutes. Defoe was barely going to get chances and the only chances he would probably get would be on the counter which surely januzaj or borini could do well with too? Mourinho for withdrew Rooney an attacker for Smalling a CB in the 84th minute vs Southampton and Moyes did it vs City. I'm sorry but it's pretty crazy to call anyone incompetent for that.

When he took over at United, we were the Champions and had always finished in the top 3. Someone needs to ask him why did that suddenly change with him in charge.

No.... That's not the...... I don't even......

Obviously you forgot we didn't take our out ball off in the that situation because you know, we still had it on the pitch.

I'll wait.

That's not comparable at all.

Defoe was their only attacking outlet on there.

We had more than enough firepower on the field with Zlatan,Micki and even Pogba . Sunderland simply did that to shut up shop. United continued attacking even after the removal of our captain.

Also Smalling was simply brought on to give him his first minutes of the season after missing the entire pre-season. '

Defoe was their ONLY out ball when they were under pressure. It is understandable if you want to defend but he should have understood that letting City pressure you is almost always going to end up in you conceding because of their quality in attack. Sunderland should have tried to keep the ball in the other half and Defoe would have been the best choice for it.

Regardless, most on here immediately knew that it was a blunder as soon as the sub was made. It is not that this criticism is with hindsight. The match day thread is filled with posters calling that sub out as a mistake. Sunderland were pressuring City at that time and looked decent value to get even a second. I know it is City and the general thought for Sunderland is to be happy with a point, but the match situation also dictates how the play should be made, else why would the manager be needed at the game if he simply has to make blind subs. The fact that Sunderland had the City back line getting pushed back was for all to see and it was clear that was 'cause of Defoe. Unfortunately Moyes couldn't see it.

Guys, he's probably still weighing up all those job offers he got from top clubs. Oh yes, top clubs were in for him you know...big shiny clubs.

Convinced this will be his Joker in Ace Chemicals moment...

Yano, it goes tits up and horribly wrong for him, he goes utterly insane and becomes a super villain of some sort

He's absurdly defiant and delusional. I think that's the worst thing about him - not the fact that he's completely useless

Midtable, hard to beat villain more likely

His last proper chance at a PL team imo, not getting any younger Davey. All the more hilarious that he's 0 of 2 so far.
