Yaya toure... prick... (drink driving)

Think tavez got done for driving without a license not drink driving.
Yeah, Tevez got a ban for speeding but then carried on driving and got stopped again. Average Joe would have got shafted but Tevez got away with it as the thick shit said he didn't understand English so wasn't aware he was banned from driving.

Doubt the media will go crazy about this. Drinking on your day off is a terrible influence for kids but drink driving is okay.

It's how we say it here. Not sure why though, mind.

EDIT: Might be because how do you define drunk? He may have had a drink but not been drunk for example.

I've always found it strange. I guess you could say "drinking and driving," though. Or why not DUI or DWI?

What's the legal limit in the UK? Was he just over by a point or was he drooling and slurring at the traffic stop?
35 mg per 100 ml of breath. You can have a pint and blow over the limit or have 3 and blow under, it all depends on the person/body.

Why is everyone saying "drink driving"? That doesn't make sense. It's drunk driving. He was (allegedly) driving drunk. Not drink.

Thanks for saying something I've been thinking for 17 years.

Christ, just marry Rooney already.

 This has to go in the classic threads! The entire Caf in a nutshell!

I think we need to find out what he got drunk on. I can assure you he is not a whisky man. It's probably sparkling wine.

Got to love the holier than thou, never made a mistake crowd. Prick because he drove drunk? I'm sure these posters never made a mistake or had bad judgment.

Yes, if you drive while drunk then you are a selfish prick.

Edit: Unless you're being sarcastic, in which case white text would help.

I think it was originally "drinking and driving" and it's become shortened over time.

I dont know if this is a parody on all the others who say it or not.

Just in case, calling someone a prick for drink driving is not a houlier than thou attitude ffs.

Although I'd wager most here have driven whilst not realising they were over the limit.

Seriously? People who don't drunk drive are only "holier than thou" in that they are by definition better than people who do, in much the same way that people who don't rob houses or commit assaults are better than people who do.

They're not calling for the death sentence, mate. They're calling him a prick. Drunk drivers kill people. He doesn't even have the so-thin-it's-nonexistent excuse that normal folk do, because he could quite easily have a driver 24/7 and not even notice the money going out.

Selfish prick? Really? About half the people on this forum will have driven over the limit at some point. It happens. I'm sure most aren't proud of it.

It's funny how society has changed so much, so quickly... We should really keep an eye on ourselves, and not get so caught up in our own bullshit. The police just used to drive in front of you when you were pissed not so long ago...

There is a link in the article that states your comment.

Reminds me of Ribery being disgusted in his team mates spraying Champagne on him during the Champions League final as he is a Muslim. But will happily cheat on his wife with an underage prostitute.

- Franck, I should tell you... I'm not a normal date, I'm a Prostitute
- I don't mind that, dear
- And I'm underage, so this would be illegal and immoral in many ways...
- Don't care about that either
- And I like to have sex in a tub full of Champagne
- What kind of beast lesser than a man do you think I am? No way!

It's genuinely funny how quickly this thread has descended into the mire. We've had interpretations of religious texts, how drink driving was absolutely fine until just recently, and semantics concerning the word 'prick'. We even managed to shoehorn in a Rooney reference!

Yeah, but if things didn't eventually change for the better a large part of showbiz would still be sniggering about Jimmy Saville sneaking into morgues and bumming corpses.

I wanted it to be about cake puns. :(

This is what drunk driving leads to, and why people should take it seriously. Not saying anyone here isn't.

Yes, graphic footage.

The driver also went and smashed into an SUV transporting a large family. Not an isolated incident, but she was just sentenced, so it seemed relevant.

I don't care if anyone has or hasn't made mistakes, they are absolutely correct in calling people who drive over the limit pricks, and I'll add selfish, irresponsible, thick, asshole and rotting diseased ball bag to prick.

One of my best friends is in prison for intoxicated manslaughter. I know all too well the consequences. But one of my good friends and I were just talking about how every single one of our friends has driven drunk at least once. I have. People, good people, make mistakes. Mistakes don't make someone a prick. Just means they're human.

So yeah, I'd say that's holier than thou.

selfish

adjective
1. devoted to or caring only for oneself; concerned primarily with one's own interests, benefits, welfare, etc., regardless of others.
2. characterized by or manifesting concern or care only for oneself:

Drunk driving ruins lives. If you'd rather put others at risk rather spending $10 on cab, then you are the very definition of selfish. The fact that you even consider this to be arguable is alarming.

It's a mistake that is universally condemned. If you still consider it to be something that's acceptable to do at any given moment of time, then you were being a selfish prick at that moment.

Jesus this thread is a car crash. From Islamophobia on one page to downplaying DUI on the next.

Did the victim survive? Be very surprised.

You're an intellectual midget. I just said I have a best friend in prison for intox manslaughter. No one is downplaying anything. But judging people for bad mistakes as if they have malicious intent is asinine.

I love how you qualified that you're a selfish prick "at that moment". No one ever argued that. Calling someone a selfish prick (generally) is different and my opposition to such a general statement was the basis for my original post.

Anyway, I'm going out for a curry and a haircut soon, but first a wank and a shower.

Make sure you get all that in the right order, chief.

If all of your friends have driven while drunk (even after one of them was arrested for intoxicated manslaughter) then you have particularly stupid friends. Which while unfortunate for you doesn't change the inherent selfishness or cuntishness of drunk driving.

If drunk drivers have an issue with being called selfish pricks then they should stop acting like selfish pricks. Also, given that an average drunk driver has driven drunk over 80 times before their first arrest, they can't really whine about being judged on one incident. Being an idiot is habit-forming.

People can be complete arseholes regardless of faith
