You just looked at wikipedia and conpletely ignored the circumstances. Pep took over barcelona when the spine of the team had just won the Euros, and had one of the greatest generations in history wither entering or in the middle of their prime, including the 3rd greatest player of all time. The year before they were a mess, with a manager that had lost the plot and the locker room, and a locker room in shambles. Incidentally, that same stuff happened to real madrid that season, too.La Liga was highly competitive before he took over Barcelona, he turned them into the clear top dogs. They had finished 18 points behind Madrid the year before Pep. It's typical of modern football these days, players and managers written off after months at a new club/league. I hope to feck he fails spectacularly but I doubt it. He knows now he has to adjust his style.
