Should Arsenal sack Wenger

We do the Utd lineup to death on here with potential signings etc but to any Arsenal fans, who of that team would actually keep their place if a new manager came in?

Surely they need 5 or 6 players.

I'd keep Bellerin maybe both centre halves, Alexis and at a push Ox. The rest all need upgrading imo.
With a manager who can give them some semblance of defensive organization? A LB, a CM maybe a CF. Rest is fine. Need some better backups tho

Ungrateful gits those Arsenal fans. How can you turn on the manager who won you titles and was the manager of the "invincibles". They should be begging him to stay. Long may Arsene's reign continue at Arsenal. It's one less team we have to deal with when we get back to winning the league again.

Our Backline would mostly be kept with a new LB coming in most likely or a CB if the new manager thinks Mustafi isn't up to it. A new GK might be needed as Cech seems to be in decline. Our midfield seems like it'll have to be completely restructured. We'd maybe keep Ox, Ramsey, Ozil and maybe Xhaka. In attack I can see the new manager trying to get Sanchez to stay and selling everyone else. Maybe he'll keep Giroud for a plan b.

I can see Bellerin, Ozil and Sanchez possibly leaving though. Ozil might stay as he seems to have hinted he wants wenger gone. Bellerins contract isnt due yet so we'd prob keep for a season if he wants to leave.

All in all if Wenger left a few years ago the new manager would have had a good squad and foundation to move on. As it stands now we're f*****. The manager will have to build the core and team from scratch.

Whether or not Wenger leaves this season, Arsenal are in for a rough ride next season.

  • Finish outside top 4 - Sanchez and Ozil leaves, maybe Bellerin too.
  • No CL - Signing key players become difficult
  • Wenger or his replacement will then have to deal with Europa league

This post match interview is a car crash. He looks defeated

He'll see out the season I should think, but he's absolutely finished.

Didn't watch the implosion but this is probably the first time where it feels like he's lost the dressing room.

He's been there too long I think. They club needs to be revitalized by bringing in a new manager. Sometimes you need a step backwards to go forwards again. Being in the top 4 isn't bad but I think he had gotten too used to that... and this is what can happen if you lower expectations. Your attitude should always be "We're going to try & win the league"

Wenger, "Don't worry, I know what I will do in my future, you will soon know. Very soon."

Wenger, "Today I don't necessarily worry about my future, we are in a unique bad patch for my time here."

He's dead and buried - he's gone.

Jose had better be lighting a fire under the arses of our boys now, we CANNOT let another opportunity to climb the table slip away tomorrow.

Wow, what IS going on at the Arsenal. I've said it before but I really feel sorry for the feckers.

He's gone at the end of the season. No way back from this.

Just watched it on NBCSN. Definitely looks like he's going.

I'm expecting him to say he's leaving, the players suddenly start playing out their skins to claim top 4 like always, and then he'll decide he's staying after all. :D

Unique bad patch. Moyesiesque quote right there!

I have sympathy for him, he's been there so long and now it looks like he won't have the dignity of going when he wants to go. I think he deserves more than that, after all those years.

Even the great man came close...

When Liverpool win the league again under Klopp, or if Spurs win it pretty soon, then I think that will force more Arsenal fans to wake up. Klopp with money will make Liverpool hard to beat & Spurs will keep getting stronger aswell.

You look at Spurs last season and now this season. Going forwards under that manager...

This sort of thing has happened before to other clubs... Sampdoria, for example. Could this be year Arsenal finally drop out of top 4?
Wash your filthy mouth.

You reckon? You think that he's actually being forced out now?

It's quite sad to watch this play out, like some washed up former champion boxer losing to bums (except for the huge salary and lack of risk of serious brain damage but you get the drift). For all his reputation as a foreign innovator, this also represents the passing of a great tradition in English football. I highly doubt we will ever see another 10+ year reign at a big club.

Arsenal players doing the Ranieri defense. Nevermind the players looking at the ball, wth is Bellerin doing? Top defensive organization
