David Moyes | West Ham in talks with him for managerial job

i-have-no-idea_zps9f2abe3f.jpg

Never tire of seeing this..... said it when he came here, said it when he was sacked and told my mate who's a Sunderland fan he'd get them relegated.

I hope he goes to West Ham next ...... wanted them relegated for years.

In fairness, I didnt think he'd feck Sunderland up this bad. It wasnt the worst side on paper when he took over. Pickford and Defoe are a good bookend for anyside to at least drift around 11/12th place. But Moyes has really outdone himself here. Buying some horrid players, and playing some dreadful style of football has flattened that side. Cant see a big comeback from them like they usually do either. Looks like a bunch of old men breaking down just because the end of the campaign.

I know it's been said over and over but I still can't believe he was hired as MUFC manager.

Next time a Sunderland player has an interview, they should comment on how hard Moyes is trying, but ultimately he lacks quality and the club needs to invest in a better manager. I wonder how well that would go down, seeing as Moyes basically says that about his players every week.

I understand that Ty fellow on Arsenal TV because he is defending a man who (albeit many years ago) had brought championships and brilliant football to his club. I never understood why United fans should feel they owed David Moyes a living. No previous connections to the club, an uninspiring career in management as he reached 50 and yet somehow grotesquely overpromoted due to Scottishness/family links/brown-nosing or who knows what else.

This is what got to me the most during the Moyes era. From the start of that whole episode I felt like I was in some kind of alternate reality where SAF himself was the manager again with the kind of loyalty and passion with which people were defending/justifying Moyes. Yes you support your manager, but when you come in with basically no track record then you can't defend that the person is going to get it right when you have literally no evidence of it happening in the past to fall back on.

I did not watch a single minute of our games in his last 4 weeks, no highlight, no football websites,...nothing. I spent the entire time trying to forget about football.

So you basically abandoned your team?

The people who insulted Moyes before he'd started acting like they are somehow superior.

fecking hell modern football.

They called it, he was out of his depth, they got abused for it, and they are now thoroughly vindicated.

I wonder how you'd describe your own behaviour in the PL vs Europe thread.

Were we supposed to clap and cheer when we knew the ship is heading towards an iceberg with the newly appointed captain?

Those people you talked about endured abuse from the Tys of Utd like you for months and months before being vindicated. I have much more respect for them than those who toe the official line.

Mug of a manager who pulled the wool over highly prestige eyes for a brief time.

If anything, he underachieved as Everton manager. Didn't win a trophy in a time when Wigan won a fecking FA Cup. Pure example of a man in a gigantic comfort zone (big club, big fanbase, zero expectations and zero funds from the board). Who exited his bubble and was found out as a joker, a mid-table manager at best who had lucked his way through a long stint at a well-regarded club and had nothing else to offer. I used to feel sorry for him - he pulled the wool over my eyes, 'a good, honest, hard-working man' and all that bull. Nonsense - he's far more arrogant than anyone would've thought and keeps fooling clubs into appointing him. Just a basic, boring, bog standard British manager. Pulis probably has more to crow about - he's never managed a club as big as Everton let alone United. And has no funds ever. Yet somehow, achieves similar results. 'Ucking PULIS.

All logic was thrown out of the window during that appointment.
I still contend that the people in charge were either drunk, drugged or both. :D

It was like a Hovis advert directed by Tim Burton.

Oh please take your sanctimonious bs someplace else. About 99% of the supporters got behind moyes when he was appointed inspite of him having done the square root of feckall to deserve it. Excuse us for eventually realising that he was basically managerial turd and calling him out for it.

Maybe just maybe the people who hung up banners for him and got behind him know a bit more about how to support a manager than someone in Melbourne.

This is before he had started. Follow the conversation.

Between waking up at 2am/4am the past 10 years to catch our matches and paying a feck ton for TV subscriptions/taxi fees to match, you can feck off with your condescending top r.e.d talk.

If people like you had your way, we'd be fighting relegation now.

I wish people got more wound up when people insult the Stretford end lads, yknow the most loyal and die hard supporters.

If you didnt get the chosen one banner and why we got behind Moyes, i just don't think you get Manchester united.

When the team was on the pitch, I wanted them to win. I had a bad feeling about his appointment but it took me a few months for me to realise he's a complete failure.
Others were more sure about it. It doesn't make them worse fans, it makes them more knowledgeable/more objective.
