Question Time & This Week

David Davis is a smug arrogant bumbling idiot of a yes man who is totally controlled by his Lord and master.

We are totally fecked.

If anyone did manage to understand what Davis said - he supposedly said the following

Davis says the British people voted to leave the EU. That means leaving the single market. You cannot be half in and half out.
He says the UK government is trying to get a deal that will allow the UK to sell into the single market.

If this is the case - after 9 months it's still the "Cake and Eat It Deal" I presume

UKIP rowing back on immigration is ridiculous

I presume for Suzanne Evans this poster meant: "the priority being given to EU immigrants is unfair and we should let in these non-EU refugees"

David Davis, the man whose towering intellect once came out with the following..

David Chuckle said:
Before we joined, our share of the European market was pathetic, at about 4%. After we joined, over about a decade and a half, it doubled, to 8%. That was the Common Market period.

But since then, during the Single Market period, it has halved again to less than the 4% we started with.

After 40 years in Europe we are no better off than when we started.

All this debate has now become tiresome, repetitive and frustrating to witness. Each of the members on the panel made some good points, as well as the usual conjecture we've heard before.

All that will matter to most people is what the final outcome will look like, which we won't know until further down the line in the negotiations.

That's because 'most people' don't know a damn thing about politics. If they did they'd know that the last year was the time most vital to determining how the government negotiate on Brexit, and even today there's still a small amount of time left. Just sitting back and hoping it all works out for the best is utterly irresponsible and a complete dereliction of responsibility. In other words, exactly the kind of childish approach to politics from the British public that got us into this mess in the first place.

That's just an ignorant statement to make. If you want people to engage and indeed vote, then it's the job of the politicians to make it understandable for all. Some will have a greater capacity for knowledge than others, being able to communicate the very things you want the public to have a opinion on is a key responsibility. If the politicians don't have a clue, how can you expect the general public to have one?

In an ideal world, unfortunately the politicians have lied throughout

Ah, the old 'that's ignorant!' line. Because taking responsibility for your own vote and your own country is too hard and might involve some effort, so feck it just blame the politicians for not holding your hand and spoonfeeding you what you need to know right?

Of course they did exactly that back in June, but millions of dumb fecks decided they knew better. But hey, still not their fault eh, it must have been those terrible politicians not selling their case well enough.

Because it can never just be the fault of the voters right.

The famous saying goes 'Every nation gets the government it deserves'. I think that's probably true.

I noticed 2 things from last night's debate:

1. How similar Dimbleby & Davis look.

2. How similar Sir Keir Starmer and Greg Davies look. Greg Davies in character is almost a comedy caricature of Starmer actually.

Who says individuals didn't take responsibility for their own vote? Ah, maybe we should all act like you and have a little temper tantrum and call everyone idiots, just because they didn't vote the way you wanted... how very grown up. And you talk about people being childish, have you looked in a mirror lately?

No doubt you'll feel enraged that I don't fully agree with you and start simmering with aggression, furiously tapping away on your little keyboard, like everyone of those letters has offended you in some way and damaged your precious little ego.

You carry on pal, because I'm not interested in your irrational bullshit.

He's the human form of a 3-2-1 clue, there is no point in trying to apply logic to him.

I'm just sick of people fecking things up for the rest of us, because they can't be arsed to bother learning how things actually work in real life. Sorry if that hurts your feelings, I'm sure you'll find someone to blame when everything goes to shite in a couple of years though.

You might need an eye test

How do you know for certain what the outcome will be, do you have a crystal ball or a time machine that's allowed you a glimpse into the future? Or is it simply your narrow minded outlook that it will all end in disaster, just so you can say "ooh look see I told you it would all turn to shite" that's driving your doom and gloom tirade of drivel?

No need to apologise for being an insufferable twit, you carry on if it keeps you entertained, gives me a good laugh even though it makes for tiresome reading.

Anyone who actually looks at what the current situation actually is, instead of listening to mindless platitudes by stupid hard right politicians, knows exactly how utterly perilous the situation currently is. This isn't an issue where you have two sides with opposing views and either could be right.

This country depends on vast amounts of trade agreements with the EU. That is not up for debate, its a simple fact, and equally importantly those trade agreements aren't just for simple products that we could just buy or sell somewhere else, they are tied into every aspect of our supply chain. If we suddenly leave the customs union and the single market, we not only have tarrifs appearing on goods but we have to suddenly introduce regulatory bodies that currently do not exist to regulate every aspect of our manufacturing and trade. Worse, we either copy Europe regulation for regulation (and come to an agreement whereby we can prove we're doing that for basically everything) or we risk having our goods not allowed into Europe, unless we come to complex trade agreements specifying that our standards are still at a level acceptable to the single market. And of course because we're not in the EU and won't have the 4 pillars, one of which is 'Free movement of goods' we can probably also look forward to long customs delays as products are examined, which is great if you're selling perishables, or perhaps like the car manufacturers in the north east who rely on a constant flow of car parts, with large running cost penalties for even minutes of delay in the supply of those parts. Oh and we don't actually have anything like the amount of customs staff and infrastructure to maintain the customs border that we'll need, so we'll have to spend vast sums hiring new staff and setting that all up too.

But hey, tell me more about Project Fear and how its all just doom and gloom. For fecks sake..

Davidson resorting to saying Corbyn and McDonnell wanted the IRA to win already in order to deflect criticism from Brexit. Oh feck off.

Nuttall: "At least my own parliamentary party isn't divided."

Not a bad joke.

Campbell vs Portillo, seconds out!

Not really, they're just talking about the EU and that.
