David Moyes | West Ham in talks with him for managerial job

Yes, but he could have sold Fellaini instead of the other two midfielders. He didn't because he seems to really rate him. Let's credit Moyes with a good signing here.

He couldn't have Schneiderlin wanted out and he painted himself into a corner with Schweinsteiger. I'm not saying he wanted to sell Fellaini but he clearly couldn't, Fellaini wanted to stay the other two didn't. No brainer really.

I credit Moyes with nothing, Fellaini has blown hot and cold during his 4 years here and was way overpriced for what he is and we paid millions more than we could have got him for just a few weeks before but Moyes let his release clause expire. Moyes was terrible in every aspect of his job at United transfer market in particular. We needed key positions strengthened and he bought two no10s one of the few positions we were stacked in and then had no idea how to use them.

In fact, given how well Mata has done you'd have to say Moyes was pretty fantastic in the transfer market for us. 100% success rate on his major signings.

Schneiderlin wanted out in January because he wasn't getting picked. Schweinsteiger was forced out because Mourinho didn't want him.

If Mourinho had decided he didn't want Fellaini last summer or over the first half of the season this he could have got rid of him and kept either of these players. He didn't because he clearly rates Fellaini.

Imagine if Moyes and Sunderland fought their way up to 17th, only to play us on the final day of the season. Would love for us to be the ones to relegate them and their fans.

Boro vs Sunderland tonight. Surely there's got to be a lot of goals in that one. Both shite.

It's weird how I feel zero pity for him. He has this weird persona that just repels any empathy and comes out with such ridiculous comments.

If ever there was a scapegoat for those that criticize the managerial merry-go -round, it is David Moyes.
I gave him every chance in the world until I saw us play and lose to the Singha all stars in India during pre season. When that whistle blew for FT I knew we were fecked.

Anyone who feels sorry for David Moyes (beyond sympathy for his own delusions) needs a slap. You might be a woman but you'll still get one.

I still don't really believe it actually happened...

Cmon, we're living in a simulation and some dickhead got into the control booth or something.

Moyes, Trump, Foxes winning PL, crazy religions still existing, Farage not being a fictional character - simulated reality, surely.
Someone is definately fecking with the Matrix.

Except he was right about the youth system as can be seen from us doing a complete overhaul since. I don't know how you can conclude from simply Rashford that his criticism of the youth system was invalid.

Rashford
Keane
Perreira

?

Well I was talking how Sam would have kept Sunderland up with ease, had he not left them. Not sure how he'd had done with United job. I'm pretty sure he'd have done much better than Moyes. Least Sam has a clear way of playing football even if it is route one. Also, I'm pretty sure he'd have realized the magnitude of the job unlike Moyes who was completely ignorant and a buffoon.

I actually think, given the specifics of that squad Fergie left behind, that Allardyce would've done alright if given the job.

Reactionary posters who are fond of the green smiley button, please note - I don't think Allardyce should've been given the job, just that he probably would've done 'ok'.

I think so too. And I'm not saying that Sam should have been given the job. None of them should have but I agree with what you're saying. I doubt we would have heard defeatist attitude from Sam.

In hindsight he was as qualified and as suitable as Moyes for the job. I think Sam would have done better than Moyes as well.

This gif still haunts me.

Also, Dan Burn had this to say after the match

And although Moyes defended United’s approach by pointing to the chances created by his team, Fulham defender Dan Burn, who started his career at non-league Darlington, claimed that facing the champions was like a return to his Conference days.

“I was just saying to the lads that I've never headed that many balls since the Conference,” Burn said. “But at the end of the day I'm happy for them (United) to play like that.

TBF, you could add Lingard (who for some reason he didnt wanna play despite being one of the better players in pre-season) and Januzaj (who he kinda burned out imo).
If anything, given he was new, he really should have relied more on youth as they would have been more willing to play to his methods (rather than questioning it).
Not to forget Zaha who looks England level quality now too. I'm sure he'll see better days as a manager but his methods seem a bit out of touch the premier league of today already. He'd be a handy Scotland manager.

He would have had the ego and mentality for it imo (well moreso than Moyes).
Moyes looked scared off the job. At least with Big Sam you know he would have been "ive arrived where I need to be" (and if im right, this is a man whos lost more than hes won at most if not all the clubs hes been part of, haha).

Newcastle at home. He was a definite gonner in my eyes after that.

He should have been sacked in the October, we could have saved the season, as at that point it was clear he was a dud and out of his depth.

The football was absolutely shocking, and the results we did get were more by accident than anything else.

Lost 1-0 to Boro tonight. Sunderland could be relegated on Saturday. I'll say it again, useless prick.

Boro haven't won a prem game since last December (16 matches).

Enter David Moyes.
