Incident on London Bridge

A friend of mines was on London Bridge at the time. Got away safely thankfully, described the attacker as 'dark skinned, red bomber jacket with a huge knife'.

Glad to hear your mate is alright.

:( Stay safe Spiersey's friend

Have a horrible feeling that the outcome of this is going to be worse than what we expect.

Police shoving people away on BBC news, why are people just standing there like it's some sort of show.

From BBC:

Three men with '12 inch blades'

Posted at0:47

An eyewitness told LBC radio what he saw tonight.

The taxi driver said: "A van came from London Bridge itself, went between the traffic light system and rammed it towards the steps. It knocked loads of people down.

"Then three men got out with long blades, 12 inches long and went randomly along Borough High Street stabbing people at random."

God, im nervous for the game now

I guess this is why we were on critical level. How many networks are out there and why are they getting the personnel? :(

They're saying lets not jump to conclusions but it's hard not to after all that's happened over the last couple of years now. It's almost like we should accept this now but this can't go on, something has to be done, I don't know what but something needs to happen.
This just makes them sound naive. Nothing's been confirmed but common sense tells you what is probable.

In Birmingham for the weekend. Live in Vauxhall though, so it's pretty terrifying... :(

Initial BBC story sounds like hell. Really hope no victims are killed.
Glad to hear you're out of the area. Hopefully the Vauxhall incident isn't related...

Some of these videos are crazy.

Terrifying

Just saying, this might be one of the suspects, it might just be a religiously dressed person who was wandering that area. The reddit live thread took this video down again after posting it first. Might be because even they thought it might just be some random person. But this could obviously be from tonight and one of the suspects, it's just impossible to tell from this video.

Yeah, both options are possible

True. Don't normally see terrorists in this clothing. But we're only guessing

Scary shit. I was out in London earlier to watch the CL final. Me and the people I was with decided to just go home straight after the match.

Just so sad that lives are lost in such evil ways.

Bit strange to see a suspect in middle Eastern clothing. Not what's generally seen in these incidents?

Wouldn't the suspects be running around trying to target as many people as possible? If so then they wouldn't be wearing the religious clothing which would make them struggle to run.

It baffles me that so many pedestrians want to stand gawking at the police at times like this. Put the phones away and get out of there you idiots.

Tbf, given thats so many people do it I guess standing gawping is actually a normal enough reaction. Like it's so surreal that they didn't react "properly".

Though I have to say filming it seems strange to me.

Feel sick. I was just out close to that area. Terrible stuff...really sad.

No one seems to have told them what's going on and advice like "run away" is being given.

If I was in that situation I'd probably just stay where all the police are. Where else are they supposed to go?
