Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Really quite shocked at that fee for Traoré. Probably the best of our "youth farm." Definitely one to keep an eye on. He'll probably pull a De Bruyne and end up at one of our rivals for huge money in a couple of years.

Considering the amount you get for your dross players, that's obscene!

Hopefully Barca go for Coutinho. Liverpool wouldn't recover from that.

A colossal meltdown would ensue.

I actually think both Verratti and Coutinho will end up at Barca eventually, probably not this summer though. Coutinho is almost a certainty some day. I even view him as more of a lock than Verratti. Regardless, Barca needs both player types (and of that quality) to return to the very top. After all, they do operate differently on the pitch.

With Iniesta slowly on his way out and neither Rakitic or any of their central midfielders being good enough, I can easily see a midfield three of Coutinho and Verratti in front Busquets.

Barca's new Busquets/Iniesta/Xavi, if you will.

10 mil euros is less than we are rumoured to be getting for Januzaj that has done nothing for almost 3 seasons now with a year left on his deal.

That's the joke isn't it. People love to say that every time Chelsea sell a player but they appear to be taking a page out of the United book of salesmanship on this one.

i genuinelybelived we'd atleast get 15 m for januzaj from any epl club.

Too true. He is a quality player I expect will be playing for one of the big boys in a few years time.

Januzaj is also on huge money for his current standing in the game. That will impact the transfer fee.
Exact reason why Lingard will be a Manchester United player for the next 5 years. A few good games here and there and we give them the world.

Question for the fans of our domestic rivals except City:

Are you and the other supporters communally bricking it over the lack of official transfer announcements? How does it compare to this thread / forum

I'm in an whatsapp group full of Arsenal fans, and everyday these guys are moaning/worrying about transfers.

Haha of all the fans I'd say Arsenal fans have the most actual reason to be sweating. Mainly in wanting to sort out Sanchez and Ozil's situations.

Ending up with Paulinho when you think you're getting Verratti is almost as bad as getting Fellaini when you think you're getting Thiago.

Well, not really. Still hurts.
I'd say it's worse.

The phrase "Could be" is doing my brain in at this point. So vague. X player could be moving here, y player could be moving here, z player could be baked in a pie, whats not vague is the majority of media outlets havent a bloody notion of whats going on.

Was hoping we'd get some sort of update this evening on our activity, guess not. By the end of the week things might be a littler clearer.

The bigger question is why Arsenal keeps buying potential when it's clear they need those ready make quality to push on, as their hundred of potential signings haven't worked out result wise at all.

Shrewd signing for Roma that. Monchi already getting down to business. Reckon they'll sell him for a big profit come 2-3 years given how pricey full backs are these days.

Why is no PL club buying Manolas? The 40 million and 4 million net salary would be better invested than what is going around for the same price in the PL. He is 25, one of the best players on his position and still young. Don´t understand this...

Would have to agree. Arsenal for example are getting linked with all sorts of attacking players, from the very young with potential to strikers like Lacazette. Yet what they really need are leaders and a decent centre back probably as much as anything else, he would be perfect for them.

Because of Pep, and he'll have much higher chance of winning the league there than if he stays at Arse.

What about us? Our proect needs a goal scorer too. Just because its pep resting on his ast leaurels all the attacking talents must join his project?

Do what they sold him for a price that if we did it you'd be throwing a fit over us getting taken again. I swear you just posted a reaction based on Chelsea selling someone with out actually reading the details.

Well they jest signed gabriel and mustafi while rob holding is comming through.

I am hating this transfer window as compared to the last year. We targeted the perfect profile of players last year and all of them were a success. Now even after getting into Champions league, the sad part is we are not shopping in the top tier, we are shopping in the 2nd tier which is usually where Liverpool and Spurs shop. For us in order to win EPL or go futher in the CPL we need star quality striker or a winger of top class quality. Every other team in top 6 has them. Chelsea have Hazard and Costa, Arsenal have Sachez, Ozil and will probably sign Lacazette, City have soo many i don't even want to name them its depressing, even Liverpool have Salah, Mane and Coutinho.

And from all the players we have been linked to i am mostly excited about Fabinho and even then it seems like we will probably sign Matic. I wish this window will just be over with and we start the season already.

We have only singed one player so far and all the rumours in the press at the moment are just that....rumours. Lets wait and see who we sign in the rest of the window. I would have to agree in that most of the names we are getting linked with dont particularly excite me either, even tough some of them are top tier players. Whether any interest is genuine is another thing altogether as we havet seen anything concrete so far.
