Messi's wages.

Those wages from MSN.
Their best bet to re-investment would be to sell either Neymar or Suarez, but that'd be a hard sell to the fans I imagine. Neymar nets you more money, but he's also the better player imo and can still be WC once Messi declines.
Their incoming transfers the past few windows have been shocking. So many towering wages given out too.
Semedo seems to be highly rated. They definitely needed a proper attacking fullback.
How talented is Vitinho supposed to be and who is this Seri I keep reading about?
Messi playes all last season as "number 10". Think his future is there.I believe Ernesto prefers a double pivot CM pairing with then wingers and a number 10 behind the striker.
I could be wrong though.
Personally, I'd use Messi behind Suarez and try to get a right sided attacker.
His future? He's been playing there since 2009Messi playes all last season as "number 10". Think his future is there.
How much can Suarez fetch for in today's market? If I'm Barca's chairman, I'd probably sell Suarez and get the money to invest heavily in a better midfield so their team won't be so reliant on that front three. Verratti would be perfect for them. They really screwed up big time with Thiago. So it's funny to see that what made so strong (the front 3) is their biggest problem right now in terms of recruiting and in terms of playing.
Can't see Barca changing their style. They would have to appoint a completely different manager to do it. You know you have to play the "Barca way" to manage them? His future? He's been playing there since 2009
Their biggest problems last season were Iniesta's fitness, and Andre Gomes(indirectly more than directly)
Their other problem is Messi doesn't run. He never covered that much ground to begin with, but now it's become something of a problem because Iniesta also doesn't quite have the legs anymore, and Neymar and Suarez are sacrificing a lot for Messi, but that also means they waste precious energy
Basically my point is, they desperately need Verratti. Possibly Thiago as well, as in both of them
Either that, or give up their playing philosophy and fill the midfield with muscle. Guys like Kante, Vidal, etc. They'd need good defensive FBs and coaching, too
He used to, at the beginning of his career there and just before they started shifting in the middle of the attacking trio. For instance in their first treble season, he used to work very hard defensively. His future? He's been playing there since 2009

3 point difference last year. Barça got stronger, Real got weaker and plenty of people are thinking Real Madrid will easily win the league. I don't get it.
Real have done better business and they have guaranteed they'll be one of the top clubs in the world for a long time. But when it comes to next season, in my opinion Barça are the favourites.
How did Real get weaker?
Lost Morata and James. Morata scored a lot of goals for them. Sure, not starters but good players who added value. How did Real get weaker?
They're about to pay the ultimate price for their (imo) stupid wage policy.
3 players can't earn a third of the wage bill. It's not sustainable.
Now they're about to lose the one with the longest shelf life.
Their board has to go.
Agree with this. As sacrilegious as it sounds, I would have cashed in on Messi. Could've gotten 150M for a 31 year old, and freed up a massive part of the wage bill to rebuild for the future.
And with the freed up wages they can use it buy players who are not as good as Messi.
I never understand why some people find the need to falsify someone's age. Does adding his age 1 year old make your post look more compelling or do you get a kick out of it? No you just look like a fool.Agree with this. As sacrilegious as it sounds, I would have cashed in on Messi. Well no one is ever going to be as good as Messi.

And who could they buy? Can't see many big players moving, apart from some from Monaco. If they sell Neymar, as huge of a loss as it is, it would give them a huge chance to reinvest properly. They need 2 new midfielders ahead of Busquets and would obviously need a winger to replace Neymar. They've obviously been linked with Coutinho and Verratti but they would be perfect for their midfield, verratti replacing what Xavi was and Coutinho trying to replace what Iniesta was. Obviously neither are anywhere near as good, but both are excellent players and great technically so it could go a long way to fixing their midfield. Could probably get both of them for the cost of Verratti.
Replacing Neymar up top though... can see them trying to get Dybala/Dembele or someone like that. Not sure if they'd actually manage it though. Probably not this summer. They'll need to reinvest basically the entire Neymar sale plus more if they really want to get back to their best though. They can't rely on Messi and Suarez to do everything when their midfield is so often non-existent.
Ceballos is supposed to be very talented isn't he? The tables seem to have turned between Barca and Madrid when it comes to transfers. They got stronger long term. Short term I think they're weaker or at the very least at the same level.
Pepe is better than Vallejo, James is better than Ceballos, Llorente was added to the squad but Kovacic did great rotating with Casemiro last season so I don't think he'll make a lot of difference, Theo doesn't spend all season injured so he's better than Coentrão and now their second highest goalscorer just left. I think overall they're weaker.
WTF is happening at Barca.
I actually read that the 'youth player' in question is 27!What? La Masia is their core!
Yeah, crazy feckers! Barcellona seem to have lost the plot recently. The club have no direction.I actually read that the 'youth player' in question is 27!
Even so, no matter who it is, no one should be told via twitter that they're no longer needed. It's bizarre!
It's so weird isn't it? Surely they can't keep going like that with the present management?Yeah, crazy feckers! Barcellona seem to have lost the plot recently. The club have no direction.
The whole club are disinterested. They are relying on the MSN and the past success. It's so weird isn't it? Surely they can't keep going like that with the present management?
Reckon they'll waste the money they get for Neymar if he goes to PSG.The whole club are disinterested. They are relying on the MSN and the past success.
