Premier League weekend fixtures 11/12/13 August

Son is just coming back from an injury, but got to imagine we'll see him in the 2nd half to add a bit of directness to Spurs attack. It's all a bit sluggish right now.

He scissor-tackled him from behind. Doesn't really matter if he got the ball or not, it's still a dangerous tackle as there's a high possibility that one of the ankles will get twisted under the tackler's body. Nothing to do with "going back to the 90's" or not.

Bryan Robson was applauded for said tackle.

We are protecting the attacking players too much. Offside is in their favour and you can't touch a dribbler without being penalised. There has to be some logic involved. There will be contact during a challenge. It's not a completely non contact sport. If he dies, he dies.

No longer do you see the classic Ryan Giggs slide tackle.

Obviously the tackles Rojo escaped punishment from are a different story.

We've had a great opening PL so far, so is this our boring day of football? I hope we are on it later.

Lacking pace somewhat, clearly missing Walker and Rose in an attacking sense.

Alli appears to still be on holiday.

Eriksen looks as productive as ever though.

Could be because he hasn't been playing for over three years now.

And why treat Rojo's tackles any different then? If he dies, he dies as you said. Let people break legs, why book them, let's get back to 90s, including people fighting in the stands imo.

Hopefully you'll be better, I'm looking forward to seeing Lukaku play.

This game has been absolutely awful though.

If Newcastle start tackling like Spurs in that 2nd half, Pochettino will have to buy 3-4 players to field a side.

Don't be a complete dick. His style of tackle.

Because Rojo is literally flying through the air with his studs showing.

Let's all let the wingers run rings around us while we jockey and sing Kumbaya, My Lord.

It's been said that the British Government shows that half of football as interrogation technique to force secrets to be leaked. It's that unbearable. 98% success record I heard. The 2% were Newcastle fans constantly shouting 'Ashley Out' with no regard to the football being played.

Was considering watching the second half but given the comments I'll watch MOTD instead

Or actually teach defenders how to tackle, position themselves and use their strength in other ways than trying to destroy somebody's knees, ankles or whatever. Scissors tackles are same kind of shit like flying, studs showing tackles.

Go into coaching and revolutionise the game.
