Supercopa de Espana | Real Madrid / Barcelona

Barcelona aren't crap or average ffs. They just aren't as good as Real Madrid.

I said Barca's squad is average, Barca are still a top team but the days of domination is over.

The Neymar money needs to be invested wisely, so far they have brought Paulinho for £36 million which is crazy to be honest.

This hasn't been competitive

Poor Umtiti will get crucified for the second goal, but he's the only reason we're not up by 5

This same eleven minus the coach beat Madrid here three months ago when the latter was also in the shit hot form that would win them the double a month later. Difference shouldn't be this big.

As good as Real's team is looking at both starting elevens there's no way there should be a gap this big between the 2 teams today. Valverde got his tactics wrong, I still have no idea what he's trying to do with this Barcelona team.

I saw some weird things, like Masche, Pique and Umtiti forming a line (logical) and Busquets joining the line, leaving a gap in front of them, with Rakitic and Gomes out of position (one in the wing, the other walking around like he always does)

This system is not trained enought to use in a final, yet alone against the currently best team in the world that are already playing automatically, this will kill the 3-5-2 for us, no one will respect Valverde using it after this

I think Barca is mainly in state of shock due to the sell of neymar and the whole team is unsettled due to that transfer going through and I reckon none of them actully wanted to see the transfer go through and i don't believe that any of them believed it would go through before it was to late so all of this comes probably as shock to them or unsettled the entire team.

I don't think they have realized what happened nor have they moved on from such a disasters transfer which was against their interests and they absolutely didn't want that transfer to go through by any means necessary and it seems like the club's hand have been forced or let me put it this way it was a transfer by force rather then anything. Neymar was forced out of their hands because they didn't want the money and he was valuble to them.

I think the only way they can move forward and get over this unfortunate incident is to buy 2 or 3 classy players and I won't mind seeing Dembele, Coutinho and Hazard all 3 joining barca in this transfer and I have been hearing rumours that it seems like Hazard is the closests of happening right now then they can follow up with Dembele then coutinho then I think barca could come out of this incident as the winners.

Barca is in state of depression due to the neymar transfer and the media circus that followed which have unsettled the players and coming into this match the team was low on moral and the same with the fans. It is as if a funeral happened in the camp nou in this period of time but as time moves on and new players come in things will comeback to normal again but they have to act quickly before the window closes and they still have time.

I have no doubt in my mind barca would have beaten Madrid if neymar was there and the whole incident didn't happen then barca would have come in mentally prepared with high moral but the entire timing of the match didn't even fit barca. This was the worst timing for barca in any classico match and even the madrid players knew this that they were playing against a wounded and depressed barca team with low moral..

How many players have they taken from smaller clubs? They are certainly not the first club ever to lose a top player and he wasn't even their best. I don't feel sorry at all for them, the sect of Barcelona is falling apart and I'm enjoying every second of it. Not that I like Madrid that much either tbh.

Absolutely. At times, I want to caveat Madrid's success by saying things like 'their rivals aren't really that good...' but it doesn't disregard just how comprehensively better they have been than everyone else, two seasons straight! Crazy how they've lost two phenomenal squad players like James Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata, yet their bench/second string attack still looks more than good enough to seriously compete at the top.

Very annoying to watch to be honest, I find it very frustrating because I believe we could have been similar had better decisions been taken at various stages and we could have avoided the complete mess we have found ourselves in recently. Things look like being on the up now thankfully, and when we get there we need to be more ruthless to stay there.

In all seriousness, who is Benzema's backup? Mayoral?

It is a shame Mariano could not stay, even a bigger shame that he was not in Sevilla's radar. He is doing wonders in France! 3 goals in 2 games.

That was due to one of Messi's miracles, not because Barca were a better team really.

How is this asensio kid doing aside from another long ranger? Seems to score alot of belters but never hear much about the rest of his game in match threads.

This is definitely the best Madrid team I've ever seen. The depth we have at the moment is ridiculous. It's the key why we're so successful. That and the calm presence of Zidane. I wonder how long this will continue.
Yeah, Zidane has really stepped up as manager. Credits to him.

Football is a mental game. Barcelona right now have it rock botton, no confidence in that team

Yeah, he is the only nominal CF we have on the squad as Morata left to Chelsea and Mariano is doing great in France. Think this is the only position we need to strengthen but I guess Zidane could make some rotations and use other attacking players as I feel Mayoral it would be too much of a responsibility to rely only on Mayoral.

according to rumours, G. Milito is coming back from retirement to fix that defence and C. Dempsey is their backup plan if Coutinho deal doesn't happen.

It's amazing what Zidane's done with Real.

Major props to him. In hindsight though, it was almost to be expected he'd make them more balanced. He always lamented the loss of Makelele.

But still, an incredible job. He has an aura about him.

Tidy, smart, fast, always ask for the ball, has magic in his feet. He's like a faster james with a better engine :drool::drool:

You should have sold Bale and kept Morata IMHO.

Yeah, for instance a player like Kovacic is rotated in, for Casemiro. It still baffles me that Inter let him go so easily. They should have made you work for it ffs:mad: I know, I know... They had issues with ffp and all that, yet still: bargain.

Isn't Ronnie playing as a forward in Zidane's 4-3-1-2? The last year felt like he was moving from the wing to be your second striker with loads of freedom to roam wherever he liked.

Doesn't take credit away from him, but this dominance was in the making already with Ancelotti

They were great in his 2nd season, even with Xabi's "bretrayal" days before the transfer line and Casemiro loaned to Porto until Modric injury happened.

Benitez was a setback, Zidane came in the right moment and looks like a perfect heir to Ancelotti, seems like he's no downgrade from him and that's huge
