Supercopa de Espana | Real Madrid / Barcelona

Sky commentators have just raised a good point about Madrid not looking any worse even without Ronaldo.

The biggest test for these two teams over the coming years is how they transition to the post Messi/Ronaldo years. Madrid don't look like that'll be an issue but this Barca side are nothing without Messi.

If Barca don't get their big name targets soon I can see them having major problems catching up with Madrid, and as someone else said, it's about the best time for Messi to move to pastures new, if he has the desire that is.

:lol::lol: Sergio Ramos. What a grade A cnut.

Can't stand the cnut, but that was hilarious

Feels like no one can accept the fact he's actually done there, hopefully it'll click with them soon.

By the time it clicks they'll have to do a Rooney with him, i.e. let him go for free due to his high wages. Are they going to get another opportunity to sell?

If anything Ronaldo probably holds them back at times, not in terms of output because he's still a monster but in terms of overall play. I think they'll be just as strong without him.

If you put Ronaldo on instead of Lucas Vasquez they'll obviously go up a level and they'd probably be up by a couple more goals. The problem last year was when they played the BBC as their overall play didn't really allow them to dominate games at times. As soon as Isco started playing instead of Bale they looked a lot better

Just seems so weird to me really. The fact he's not clocked it either is really bizarre as I didn't have him down for an idiot, he should be asking to get out of there. Unless of course he's ok with a bench role, that's then a different story.

Can't understand why Barca play Roberto at full back. Been far better than any other Barca midfielder on the pitch.

Barça had more and better chances today despite the result. Real have gone asleep in the second half

I always like him when I see him play but apparently he's being moved on?

Valverde wants him to stay, reports from the media say they don't want him to leave, but still that's a 40M release clause player, if the right team wants to pay it, he could and should leave, team could do nothing.

He's been great for more than 2 seasons now, and still he's not breaking into the starting 11 and they sign players in his position, I'll never get why

Bale is perfectly fine in our bench, we need to rotate a lot this season and he's had a lot of injuries lately so I'd rather have him on the bench (and Asensio as a starter) trying to prove himself and regaining fitness and rhythm. Is much better to have him on the bench than the likes of Andre Gomes or Paco Alcacer, coming in when you're chasing to get back in a game.

If the roles were switched then barca would have been at 5-0 or 6-2 by now. Real just took it down two notches, completely unacceptable. They should go hard all the way, barcastyle.

Madrid's back ups could start for some of the best teams in the world. It's actually insane how good their depth is.

Did Barca sign Deulofeu just so the board can say they still prefer La Masia products? I don't see the logic with this transfer.

Barca are in trouble this season. They need to sign Dembele quickly. I don't see Paulinho fitting into their team.
