Neymar Jr | PSG | 2017/2018 performances

I wonder how he feels about the Barca vs Real game, seeing Deulofeu putting in a mediocre performance.

He was already quick and fast as it is, but the quality of the league makes him look even better...he's popping up all over the pitch it looked like and is the central hub of PSG with good/great movement with plenty of space. Free of Mes Que un Club.

Indeed, a lot of freedom tactically. Tonight, we had something like that

Nothing to do with the league, was the same in Spain, in CL and for Brazil. That's what he's always looked like when he was the hub of the team

Yep, he played exactly like he plays for the national team.

Are you happy he has left Barca and La Liga entirely? One would assume you're ecstatic.
Can't you tell? :lol::lol::lol:

I'd have preferred he left barca and stayed in Spain, mind, playing with an all white shirt...but one has to appreciate victories, be they big or small :D

I was expecting for him to have more freedom and play more like does for Brazil. He was great in Barcelona plenty of matches but the one player to get more freedom and roam around was Messi so I do think it was a good move for him if he wanted that badly to be the focal point of a team while getting absurd amounts of money. :)

I didn't catch the game but it's no surprise to see that he was on fire. It's just a shame that it had to be Pastore that made way for him! I can't wait to see those two together.

Pretty legit. I mean, the gulf in talent between RM and Barcelona and anyone other than Athletic is absolutely enormous. The gap between PSG and the also rans is probably less than the other gulf. Playing for one of the top two clubs in the world, in a league that is demonstrably weak outside of its top 3 is where you really show how talented you are.

La liga is a strong league throughout unlike the French league. Which is evident both from watching the league itself as well European competitions.

There is cannon fodder in every league.
True but there's a misconception on the caf the rest of la liga is crap compared to the awesomeness of the PL. The general strength of the league is stronger than most.

Go ahead...

He will walk this league and yesterday was first of many for the season. He will be the go to for every attack and can see him racking up a hugh number of assists as well as goals.

Disappointed to see him join Ligue 1 from a player quality point of view as his ability deserves to be showcased week in week out in a more competitive league.

A goal and an assist so far without looking like he has stepped out of 2nd gear.

Taken a bit too long at some stages in decent positions but doing what he needs to out there & will end up on some big numbers by seasons end.

Big step down from MSN to Cavani though, he will need to adapt to that.

La Liga isn't that much different to be honest.

I think Ligue 1 is a clear step down from La Liga, along with PSG who are a big step down from Barca.

Just watching him now and he is looking for passes to team mates that they have not thought about making. I know it takes time but Cavani does not compare to Messi or Suarez. I like Rabiot & Veratti but they don't come close to Iniesta & Busquets.

After Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico there is a big drop in quality. The drop isn't as noticeable in Ligue 1 from PSG, Monaco and Nice. La Liga is better but its not on a different level.

By the way,Verrati, Motta and Rabiot is definitely comparable to Bosquets, Iniesta, and Rakitic.

Not really. Barca barely got past them last year, and that was only because Neymar himself led them to the victory. With him swapping teams, I'd be tempted to say PSG would beat them now. Although it may depend on who else PSG sell to clear the ffp (and who Barca finally buy I guess).

Barca are living on past glories. They've still got Messi and Suarez obviously, but otherwise they really aren't anything special at all. And even those two seem to be dropping off a bit compared to where they were a couple of seasons ago. They are in quite a bit of trouble in the not-too-distant future IMO.

Neymar is WAY WAY too good for this league and team. Really should be playing for a top team in a top league in the biggest games around. He was incredible at Barca and is looking even better here with the amount of space he gets.

2 goals
2 assists
1 penalty obtained
116 touches
13 dribbles

exceptional

Nothing he does in the league is going to be that impressive tbh. I thought he was the 3rd best player in the world and I fully expect him to rip up any league he's in, especially one lacking strength like France.

How good he and a team can be with him as the main man will be proven in the Champions League. Domestic achievements mean little with PSG.

He's obviously going to tear up that farmer league to a ridiculous extent. I'm surprised he hasn't got more. Such an unreal player is way too good for the French league in its current state.

what top team in what top league? He's already played for Barcelona. The only other team he could have gone and played for is Real madrid which i doubt he would.

Cavani's movement is probably top 5 in the world. It's his finishing that lets him down.

Then stay there or go to a League with a lot of big games like the PL if nothing else. He's so good and all that talent is going to be wasted here.

That's the sad bit. He's an exceptional player and won't get the recognition unless he does amazingly and single handedly makes them win the CL.
