Honestly he is simply a chequebook manager, success at the biggest clubs in every country he has been at, we have 6 goal scorers in the league and City have 8. Good side; really enjoyable to watch. Spurs have a history of trying to play good football, and their current team play some lovely stuff. Some club is going to make a huge bid for Kane in the near future (City?), but would he leave? The Wembley form is strange, however, and might cost them this season. They should have won the league last season.
Amazingly, you try to spin this around like it's something positive. Like 0-2-1 and 2-3 is "according to schedule" and something to be chipper about when you have played Burnley and Swansea. Furthermore, what happened last seasons does not mean shit this season - apart from the fact that you did incredibly at home last season and have started horrendous this time around. It must be terrible to always view football mathematically, always be in a defensive state on an away forum where you spend an exceptional amount of time, even during weekend nights. I will not go into personal attacks and bullying, but I really feel it's sad that so many posts and topics on this leading United-forum is about Tottenham and more importantly, you and your agenda to always paint Tottenham in a better light. I can understand Liverpool and Klopp, as the rivalry is historic and important to United-fans, but Tottenham is not even on the radar and never will be. Every time I log in I see Spurs on the top, and you can bet your ass your name will pop up. Why not take your agenda to a Spurs-forum where your mates are playing, or to an Arsenal-forum where your real enemies are hiding?
Oh and Spurs are a great side, especially when Harry Kane is playing - he has brought me to the top 3500 in Fantasy thus far. Dele Alli is extremely overrated though, he has fooled many with his chip-in goals these last two years - many forgetting that he is mainly a forward and not a midfielder. I even saw him in front of Kylian Mbappe on some kind of top talent-ranking, which is beyond ridiculous. Great at nipping in and scoring goals, but does not dictate the game whatsoever for even Spurs.
That's quite disrespectful from Pep. Hopefully it fires up the Spurs players when they meet.

And why seize on my saying that Spurs are "on the same number of points as last season from the same/equivalent fixtures."? You say it's "not a positive", but I beg to differ considering that we finished 2nd last season and are having to adjust to playing at Wembley this season.
The fact that we have played Burnley and Swansea is irrelevant - because the clue is in the phrase "same/equivalent fixtures".

Dropping bad points this season v poor sides doesn't mean anything just because you dropped silly points last year. If anything its your slow starts that hold you back and with an already lesser home record it'll be harder to regain that momentum.

Spurs fans - thoughts on the Alli situation at the moment? Rumoured that he'll be offered a new deal around £80k p/w with Spurs confident he'll sign, do you think that'll be the case? Or will he potentially have a new agent in his ear whispering about a move? Any worries about losing him? Or happy in the knowledge he's already signed up to 2022 and Spurs will get big money if he does want to go?
I reckon there's a good chance he'll sign. He is an incredible talent, despite what some people recently seem to think but I think he still has a lot of flaws to iron out of his game and he won't get that opportunity currently without severe scrutiny at a bigger club that Spurs.
He'll be gone in a few years, I'm almost sure of that but we'll get an absolute bomb for him when he does go.
In the meantime, he's playing under a manager with a proven track record of improving players, getting paid a great salary, playing with his friends in London and playing in the Champions league (when he's not getting himself suspended anyway). Plus he's with a fanbase that's more likely to tolerate his periods during games when he's not doing as much as others than the fanbases of clubs like Real etc may be.
If he's clever, I think he'll stay 2-3 more seasons and then reassess his options based on what the situation is.

Incredibly cheesy but I guess his nephew will appreciate it a lot, which is a nice gesture. On a side note, the restaurant featured at the beginning (pavro ocakbasi) makes an absolutely mean kebab wrap. It is an absolute must for any trip to WHL, pre or post match. If any of you guys head down to the away game next year, I'd highly recommend it.

The "Spurs are confident he will sign" stuff... I wouldn't read much into that at all. Of course they will say that publicly.
I think they will be relatively clueless until Alli signs a new agent.
He is likely going to go with one of the elite agents.
I can't seem them advising him to sign an £80k a week deal when the like if Lingard are on £100k and Pogba is on, what, £280k? Sterling is on £180k.

Spurs fans, how is Trippier playing this season?
He's playing well so far. I think the Chelsea game unfortunately clouded a lot of fans' opinions of him (and Wanyama) when, as it turns out, both were injured and shouldn't have been playing in that match at all. 3 assists so far from 6 PL matches, which puts him 2nd on the assists list in terms of defenders, behind Azpilicueta and joint 5th overall in the table.
He'll never be top class or anything but he's doing a very good job and I don't feel upset or worried if I see him in the team tbh.
Davies on the other hand has gone up another level this season and is playing in a way that I never envisaged to be honest. Poch's work with fullbacks especially is exceptional.
The Spurs are confudent stuff is nonsense, as is about 95% of what the sports media puts out. I doubt whoever wrote that article has the foggiest what Spurs thinks (or Alli's camp for that matter).
What I said above isn't some inside track, only my own thoughts on the matter I guess. I think he is currently at the best place for him. That will most likely change in the next 3 seasons.
As for the agents, they will obviously play a part but let's be honest, we talk as if agents and footballers are unaware of these sky high wages other players are being paid unless they're represented by a powerful agent but we talk about individual players' wages as if we're looking at their accounts ourselves. Alli and his agent will know full well how much others make, his last agent would have known the same too.
The decision will be made on more than financial matters (though that will be an important factor), especially for such a young player.

However, financial is the number 1 factor. No question. It always is.
I would add that the fact that he sacked his previous agent and is looking for a new one suggests he is in the market for a handsome pay rise.
I hope Spurs give it to him and keep him.
No matter what they do, the current wage structure they have is not sustainable to maintain a CL quality team with the talent they currently have.
Stadium aside, Spurs have the revenues to be able to avoid pretty competitive wages.

I wouldn't say financial is always the number one factor. I'm sure for example that Sancho was offered more by Man City than he was at Dortmund but he made the almost certainly correct assumption that he would have more opportunities and better career progression if he moved to Germany.
Similarly, relationship with the manager, location, how the player is pursued etc can make a big difference.
I do agree though that the agent change will be for a big pay rise and probably eventually for a move.
I think currently we're the 12th richest club in the world, with the 12th highest wage bill. Which I don't think is unreasonable, especially as we've been upgrading all the infrastructure of the club. The main problem of course is that 5 of the 11 clubs above us are in the same league.
I do hope he signs a new contract though and stays for a few more years.
Its a difficult one to answer tbh. A major issue with our teams has always been inconsistency. Of the past 4 champions of the ACN, 2 haven't qualified for the WC, one has and another is currently 2nd with a game left.
Overall, I'd probably say Nigeria, Egypt and Senegal are the best right now, with Ivory Coast as well just behind. I quite like Zambia too but that's just personal preference!
They're quite liable to change quickly though.
See Lamela and Rose are back in training, those are two very strong additional players for the Spurs squad. Lamela has been out for so long though, he would be the only worry. I rate him though, so if he can get back to where he was, he sure as hell will be better than sissoko.

Rose has been out for 9 months, Lamela is 14 days away from exactly 1 year. They'll both be very important additions to the squad if they can go back to their former level.
Dembele back in training as well and Wanyama hopefully not too far away. (Touch wood) Hopefully squad is coming back together now.
I don't have much doubt about Rose, considering the level he was playing at before, but yeah, a year is a bloody long time for someone like Lamela. Was his prime development time. I'm sure he'll be fine though.

Vorm, Trippier/ Winks, Son, Lamela, Dier, Llorente, Davies (Though Rose has a real battle to get back in the team with how Davies is playing).
With Sissoko, Walker-Peters, Nkoudou, Foyth, Trippier or Winks out of the squad (Ok, admittedly most of those are youth players) but the bench looks good if all are fit.
Yes, there is probably one scenario where financial isn't the number one factor and that is on the situation you desrcibed: when a player is young, not quite proven and looking for playing time... in order to prove his worth and thus get a proper payday. Which is not the situation Alli is in.
Whilst financial is number 1 in almost every scenario, I think it's important to note that the difference between an extra 10-20% might not swing other factors. A difference of double or treble will, of course.
I think that Levy will realise that he has done fantastic in suppressing the wage bill but will have to loosen up for some of these upcoming contract renewals. Spurs now have some truly proven top quality players.
Agreed on the Rose part, Davies has definitely stepped up this season. Yeah, Lamela got a lot of stick from opposing fans, but he runs his arse off and is aggressive - as well as having a bit of flair.
That is a very strong bench, have to say. You've gotta expect you guys are going to fill your squad with youth players though, you're not in the business of having older squad players.
Anyway, won't make a blind bit of difference when you come up against us
