Ferguson used to do exactly the same as Mourinho did yesterday in the games at Anfield in the games when Liverpool had a decent side. Think O'Shea and Floran.
A draw at Anfield is 'shameful'?It is a shameful result and to make it more embarrassing was the fact that we had not even got a midfielder on the bench to compete with there 3 midfielders.

This is where the game was lost, and it was Mourinho's responsibility to make sure that we had at least 1 midfielder on the bench so as to change our game play and compete with them in the engine room. Excuses after the game do not cut it.
You better give Roberto Martinez a ring and bend his ear.It is a shameful result and to make it more embarrassing was the fact that we had not even got a midfielder on the bench to compete with there 3 midfielders.

Probably yes*Exactly, but we lost 2 points by parking the bus. Do you honestly think that we can go and win the Premiership by parking the bus every time we go away to the top 6 sides @Tapori ..
he had no belief in our midfieldIt was our first real test. We came away with a valuable point with a very negative performance that didn't make anyone happy, I'm sure including Mourinho. I'd be very surprised if we played exactly the same way against the other big sides since if we do, I can only think Mourinho has lost belief in a number of our players.

Yes, We got a point but I really think that they were there for the taken had we came at them instead of the Parking the bus method. I'm just annoyed mate, especially because of who it was. I just hope you are right, but Mourinho tends to do this time and again against the top 6 sides. @togg
Go home Donsangre you're drunkI blame Mourigno. Young and Valencia on the same side? Miki never got a ball through the center. Most likely planned by Jose. Played a chicken again.
We will finish 2nd. Based case scenario. He would 9 defenders and young up top against city if he could.
A draw at Anfield is 'shameful'?
And how is the fact that we have Midfield players out injured 'embarrassing'?
Can't work out whether this is a joke or not?

You said it was a 'shameful' result. I could understand if you described the performance as shameful (although I'd disagree), but surely not the result? Liverpool's record against the top 6 is phenomenal.Liverpool are not the force they were anymore, and why would you not expect to WIN here. As regards to players out injured, I never said it was embarrassing because they were out. We should have had cover on the bench for midfield.
Why have Scott McTominay in the squad if he is not good enough for even the bench when we have all our midfielders out. Mourinho knew that Liverpool would put 3 in midfield when he knew of all our injuries in this department. And NO it is not a joke. I for one think that we could have taken Liverpool if we had attacked them instead of sitting back. So YES I would say we lost 2 points. My Opinion @Rusholme Ruffian
We are not the force we once were and Liverpool finished above us last season. Why would we expect to win?Liverpool are not the force they were anymore, and why would you not expect to WIN here.
We best not set out like that against city. They will score 5 at least.
If you take city's ridiculous start to the season to one side, we have made a solid start to the season.
Whilst I would love us to win the PL, the start is to be competitive in it first. That includes going long in the CL too.
We have a solid team but we still short in a couple of positions and another world class forward player that can turn this type of game into a win. Let's be honest, there were a few of them where Ronaldo was the difference.....
Well Everton got a point against them like that and they only snatched a win at Bournemouth with a goal in the 8th minute of injury time. Pep would love it if we try and go toe to toe with them.I agree, sit back against City at your peril.
Sometimes it's hard to say who's being serious and who isn't in these threads.
Looking at the responses one would think we got battered 3:0 at least. Liverpool are a good side, SAF used to play like this at Anfield all the time. City scoring 5 against us based on this game is not how football really works.

You think it's embarrassing that we didn't play McTominay at Anfield? I'd say it was sensible, but each to their own.
Exactly, but we lost 2 points by parking the bus. Do you honestly think that we can go and win the Premiership by parking the bus every time we go away to the top 6 sides @Tapori ..
We were dire but i disagree with this.Liverpool very much deserved the win.
Etihad 2012 springs to mind. Zero ambition at all.I think people confuse games were utd were under a lot of pressure but pulled off a win to going into a game with the sole intention of getting a 0-0
You said it was embarrassing that we didn't have a midfielder on the bench, but that midfielder could only have been McTominay due to injuries. So if Mourinho judged that being chucked into a game at Anfield was too much for McTominay at this stage in his career then there was no other option. Seems a strange thing to describe as embarrassing.2. I never said it was embarrassing that we didn't play McTominay. I said if he is good enough for the squad he should be good enough to play. We needed another midfielder to match there 3 in midfield no matter who it was. Matic and especially Herrera, got run over.
