Neymar Jr | PSG | 2017/2018 performances

Wouldn't be surprised if this was all a plan by Neymar to join Real but not directly from Barca.
More and more with Neymar I get the feeling that he wants to join Madrid and his move to PSG is just a way to get there indirectly because he knows he'd never be able to join from Barca.
I'm suspicious that this whole thing is in some way orchestrated by both him and his agent, knowing full well that Barca wouldn't sell directly to Madrid.
Why hadn't he joined Madrid in the first place then? PSG paid his clausula, Madrid could've done it and Barca wouldn't have had any say in his future, see Figo.

With social media the way it is.. I can imagine it being Figo times 10 and Ronaldo already occupy his position. Next summer or year after is more feasible and Barca fans less vitriolic

That less goals in a weaker league argument is such a crap argument which only works for huge differences in the quality of a league. So when you compare Eredivisie to the Premier League for examples, for the PL, Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga and even Ligue 1 to an extent a player can score loads in league A and less in league B for any league A and B.

It's interesting to look at the stats of David Trézéguet who joined the Juve in 2000, Capocannoniere in 2002...

2005/06 Serie A: 23 goals in 32 games
2006/07 Serie B: 14 goals in 31 games (Juve Serie B champion)
2007/08 Serie A: 20 goals in 36 games

I'm not sure Madrid could have afforded his buyout clause in one go given that PSGs manner of affording him is questionable to say the least.

Qatar gas exports 60 billions of US dollars per year: very questionable business :D

Madrid had the means to buy Neymar or M'bappé. Tactical headache to please both Neymar & Cristiano. That is why, M'bappé was a top priority last summer.

So, Madrid couldn't afford him then but they would be able to buy him from PSG?

That bit is ok, how PSG handle their accounts is another matter.

Nope, think Madrid got eliminated from the equation as well, only way I can see Neymar leaving realistically is on a free transfer when his PSG contract is up.

Could you give me a plausible explanation why he would want to join RM? Crazier things happened, but I can't see it.

The guy barely handles the PSG locker room stories, a RM transfer aftermath would cause a full mental breakdown.

The rumors about transfers are always going to surround Neymar. In this case maybe he misses his son who is still living in Barcelona.
As far as Madrid are concerned, Florentino is supposed to be crazy about bringing Neymar. Regardless of his virtues and defects the transfer is pure morbidity.
Besides he is in my opinion the only super star really exciting.
It is known that the Spanish press loves secret clauses, but it seems reasonable some kind of agreement to at least negotiate with Madrid.
It´s a big stretch but I don´t think that Neymar can be retained in the same way as with Verratti.
Yesterday Inda commented that Madrid has the money but would only see the transfer viable if the player shares the image rights, which is mandatory for all players.
On the other hand there are rumors about Cristiano, completely contradictory. Some say he will renew and others that he will leave in June.

Neymar isnt going back to Spain ffs.
I think the Spanish are hurting a bit and are either causing trouble to stir the pot or haven't fully grasped that the game has changed.
This is Madrid though, link themselves with the stars mid season then tell us Zidane opted against it because he has so much faith in Isco.

The game has changed ? but we still won 3 Champions league in the last four years .I dont want Neymar to play for us anyway I cant stand him ! We should have signed Mbappé last summer though it was a big mistake.

Given time off by PSG.
When is his sister's birthday again?

11th March. He'll play against Real Madrid on the 6th and have a holiday, missing out playing against Metz on the 10th.

Apparently wants to leave PSG as per Journalist from Mundo deportivo. Many Barcelona fans had predicted this, there have been stories from various journos (including the guy who broke him going to PSG) in this regard.

"Neymar not endure more in Paris. You want to go as soon as you can. I would like to return to the boat, but that is impossible. "Why has decided to go to Real Madrid, to sign him assessing give change to Cristiano Ronaldo more € 100M." (Via @ClubMitjanit).

100 million euros + an Old Cr7 is a good deal for madrid, its amazing that no way Psg can sell him for a profit and maybe its another tantrum to get in a favourable coach for himself and have the transfers planned for himself, but these rumours must make PSG look a bit stupid.
Thoughts @FCBarca ?

I doubt Neymar to Madrid will ever happen despite of how much the spanish media wants it to happen. He can't leave PSG until he's won a Champions League or it would make him look terrible, PSG would look even worse so I'm not sure why they'd accept any offer Madrid would make.

Madrid should stay far away imo.
Why? they need to replace CR, his replacement in bale hasnt really worked out well. Neymar will be the best player in the world not counting messi/Ronaldo. Madrid get to do one over barca. they get a great player and another galactico.

Neymar never cared how a move would make him look, as seen by the way he moved to Barca or Psg. He wouldnt really care for PSG and would Psg want a player at that cost who just does not perform or gets mysterious injuries all the time?

If he leaves for Madrid, it will be a massive humiliation for PSG just as they were making the big boys sit up and take notice. Without him, they are pretty much the same team that got twatted at the Nou Camp.

Considering PSG's history of holding onto players, this looks impossible. But then again, Neymar is a petulant cnut who always gets his way somehow, so he could buck the trend. Interesting developments.

Some journalists in Spain are saying that Neymar senior apparently included a €230 mi clause in their contract with PSG already planning a move to Madrid.
He and his father are not trustable people.

If he were to move to Madrid it would have to be within the next 2-3 years at the latest I would say because I don't see Madrid dishing out that kind of cash on a player approaching 30 years old to be their next star.

He chose the worst club in the world to try and screw over if this is true.

They can literally write him off and let him rot, if they want to make an example out of him.

If they were stupid enough to put in a release clause a few million more than they paid for him, then that's just a calamity of errors.

If Neymar does go to Real Madrid in this way, he will be the most reviled player in Barcelona's history. I bet Figo is praying Neymar does the snakiest thing of all-time and worms his way to Madrid.

Neymar at Madrid has all the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster. What an absolute cnut this would make him!

He will go to Madrid soon.

Real Madrid to face Paris Saint-Germain in Champions League glamor tie

Champions League round of 16 draw:
Juventus v Tottenham
Basel v Manchester City
Porto v Liverpool
Sevilla v Manchester United
Real Madrid v PSG
Shakhtar Donetsk v Roma
Chelsea v Barcelona
Bayern Munich v Besiktas

The first Clasico after this transfer will be unmissable

Are you kidding? We should be all over it. Neymar is at worst 90% of Cristiano(though in a different way) and he's 25! Cris is 32!

If it's at all possible, it's a no brainer

That said, i'd still be equally happy and pissed off/sad if it happens

Neymar and Madrid is a match made in heaven. Both are vile and despicable and yet amazing at football.

If Real Madrid tries to lure him, QSI will find a way to buy the Bernabeu and burn it.

I have it on fairly decent authority(i.e. local word of mouth coming from Verratti's father) that at the height of the summer fracas, after the "prisoner" interview by Di Campli, Al Khelaifi told Verratti that he was going nowhere and that if he didn't immediately change agent he'd have him work as the club gardener until the end of his contract

Then again the Neymars are no fools, so...they probably do have a way out if Paris doesn't work out

Btw no, Neymar will never be as reviled as Figo in Barcelona. Neymar was just a great player, Messi's heir apparent but no more than that. Figo was one of their fecking captains when he left them. And Figo didn't take alternate routes either, he went straight to us, which is much much worse. Figo was comparable to Messi in how much he meant for them at the time. Neymar never came close to that

He will go to Madrid soon.
 what are the odds on him switching shirts at half time? :D

More transfer, locker room bust-up and leaving to Brazil for a party headlines than actual on-the pitch performances. Scored 9 league goals last season at Barca and is the 6th best scorer in France right now, behind Balotelli. Last time he actually performed great was in winter 2015. Wait until PSG get pummeled by Madrid and the early season excitement of escaping Messi's shadow and being the big boy vanishes and he is welcomed to the real world.

Quote me on it, in 2 years he is irrelevant.

I am convinced that Madrid will go for him this summer.
I know that in France there are no clauses, that he is very expensive and PSG a serious club that doesn´t allow this kind of bullshit, but he is a "born to play in Madrid".
I doubt that with his attitude is the best option, but on the other hand for me is really the only exciting player out there.
Dybala/Griezmann/Kane/Hazard. All of them are really good but why this and not the other?
Maybe it´s silly but those options seem too wise and predictable. Madrid have to sell madness, circus and fun.
If Madrid are the best club in the world then it is inevitable to go for him.
Personally I do not think that Cristiano will be included. Now that he matched the 5 Ballon d´or of Messi it does not make sense to abandon his particular fight.
I think Cris is a bit jealous, just that.

And the same that twatted Barcelona at the Parc des Princes.

I bet Barcelona fans don't know if they should laugh or cry. They have the 'I told you so' about him leaving for a piss poor league but at the same time must dread the thought of Madrid doing a deal.

I don't think Madrid could afford him at this stage and Ronaldo wont go to PSG so its a full cash deal and another massive contract to go alongside Ronaldo, Bale's etc. I don't see it happening.

You guys are forgetting something in the bigger picture, Florentino, ACS (his company), Qatar and a 150.000M plan to improve infrastructures in that country, from which ACS has already won some contracts.

So, if there's any way Neymar ends up at Real Madrid from Paris, it would be via friendly negotiations, and that means either PSG get some players + € from Real (here, what kind of year Ronaldo has is important, if he's great they'll lose their minds over him, if not they probably would discard it) or PSG not losing money in the operation, and we're talking about Neymar Jr and Sr, the cost for PSG was probably bigger than the 222M release clause with other payments aside.

Hostile transfer would mean that either Qatar would slap ACS in the face for every contract they'd want (hurting Florentino in a professional and even personal level, losing a ton of money) or ACS slapping Qatar with some plans to leave their operations there (that already was a possibility since the ¿July? crisis where ACS was in the situation of maybe having to work with either Qatar or Saudi Arabia exclusively), either way if Real force a hostile transfer, it won't be cheap for them and Florentino, and if Qatar resent some of Florentino's decisions, they pretty much would opt to keep him in the bench or sell him to another team (City or United at a discount for example) just to spite Florentino for choosing the Saudi side instead of theirs.

And that's why its such a great idea mixing politics and countries owning teams with football :nervous:

Well, to be fair I won't dread the thought of him joining Real Madrid if that opens a window for the possibility of Messi destroying him and his "legacy" by winning against him.

It's all elucubration, but do you think Leo would be good with Ney choosing to sign for Real and that wouldn't motivate him to give 101% in the next years?. Because, in some way, Messi "owns" Barcelona, if Neymar is available, he wants to return and Messi says "let's sign him back" you can bet your ass the board are probabling going to bring him back, otherwise it's probably Neymar saying "I don't want to play for you, I want to beat you playing for Real madrid", that's a harsher pill to swallow for Leo than his entire rivalry against Ronaldo
