The problem with this City side is that teams are shit scared of playing against them. That plays into City's hands so well because they thrive with possession. If Pep buys more players in Jan, I can't see them slowing down.

Main difference is the coaching. Pep actually coaches attacking positioning.
It's one of the reasons why Utd in the Fergie era was so difficult to beat. There is also a mental factor involved playing against top teams. Your players are most likely to make mistakes and allow the team to punish them.
All I did there was read the third line and weep that we aren't getting more out of that. It's the coaching more than anything. Attacking wise Jose isn't doing well enough.

I agree about the attacking side of Jose's approach but Mata, Mkhi, Lingard are several tiers below City's attackers - these are not bad players but they are nowhere near good enough for a side with serious title aspirations.

Movement and attacking positioning. Our options aren't as good as theirs but more could be done as ours end up in a dead end half the time with nobody to pass to and little support from fullbacks.
Jesus isn't a wide attacker. Sterling, Sane and Bernardo are their definitive wide attackers.

Mkhitaryan thrived when playing for Tuchel, who shares some of Pep's ideas. It wouldn't be far fetched to suggest that Mkhitaryan might be seriously good at City. I'd go as far as saying he'd be a perfect fit there.

Rotation. They play many games and if Kun leaves Sanchez is flexible to play on the flanks and in the centre. The only true wide players they have are Sterling and Sane. Silva is still seen as a D. Silva replacement.

It's not nonsense, it's a part of the equation for sure. Look at Sterling. The guy was being ridiculed on basically every board about football I've ever read, people were sure Pep would kick him out of City and now the guy looks like a worldstar in the making. That's no coincidence.
Probably just going to replace Aguero. Pretty fair that he doesn't want to just get Jesus to be his main and only striker with little competition.
