Very happy to see Barcelonas turn around.
I said last year in a thread somewhere (after the PSG first leg) that Barcelona would need to sell Neymar to rebuild the midfield.
Enrique gone, Rakitic will leave in the summer, Iniesta set to retire or move on.
Barca need to sell Neymar and raise funds for a new midfield.
Even despite the historic comeback it was apparent they were looking disjointed and the PSG victory was merely papering over the cracks.
At that point Rakitic was being benched and it looked like he would leave, and Iniesta was playing less and less football under Enrique.
It was apparent that Barca had made some very questionable buys:
* Arda Turan (who I was an advocat of) but he never made an influence.
* Gomes (who still needs to be moved on).
* The loss of Alves
* The loss of Pedro
* The loss of Xavi (he left during the treble winning season)
* Buying Matthieu (never a barcelona player awful buy).
It's now nice to see the deadweight is being cleared out, Iniesta is having more game time (he will have to pick his games given his age).
Neymar has given the funds for Dembele and Coutinho, last year Umtiti was an astute buy and I've heard good things about Yerry Mina.
It looks like the squad is in good shape now, despite the loss of Mascherano coming soon, there'll be an inevitable decline after Messi retires, but he will drop to the midfield in a few seasons once he loses his pace, he will probably play to 36-7 given his passing and dribbling ability though.
I worry about Dembele having two injuries though, for the money they spent. Hopefully he can have an injury free few seasons now.
The question still is, who will replace Messi as the talismanic players, and who will replace Suarez in 3 years time when he hits 34?
I wonder if Barca will try and sign Neymar again, or if Barcelonas dominance will still be there.
