I don't mind at all that a promotion team, fighting to stay in the league, comes to a place like OT and plays a 6-4 or whatever that formation was. I don't mind that they are aggressive and put in maximum effort. However, it was blatantly apparent after the first 15 minutes that the mantra was to foul our players every time we created the slightest bit of breathing space or a dangerous position. It happened over and over and over. The ref was awful. These are premediated fouls and are part of the game plan. All it does is stop the play again and again. The refs have to recognize this and give out yellow cards much, much earlier. It makes the game a farce. Oh, and when our player heads the ball in the box towards the goal and then gets completely charged through and to the ground, it should be at least a pen and a yellow, if not the more appropriate red card, but certainly not play on. That ref needs to go back to the U-11's.

What a horrible team that lot are. Bristol City play way better football than they do. A kicking, moaning, fouling machine. Those cloggers need to go back down. 19 fouls. They got away with at least 5 more. Should have had a good few more bookings, and probably a red for the foul on McTominay.

Decent win. Sanchez will be bruised all over tomorrow.

Only got the last 15 of the first half, which wasn't terrible but kinda clueless.

Second half was very, very enjoyable. Some great football and exciting play.

Sanchez easily MOTM followed by Matic.

Comfortable win in the end after a poor first half. Huddersfield are the worst team in the league.

At the risk of nut hugging, wasn't it Sanchez looking to make a run and putting pressure on them just prior to it being played out wide for Mata? Things like that matter.

Can't believe United got him in exchange for Mkhitaryan, who looks like the perfect kind of player for Arsenal, which isn't a compliment.

Sanchez is a real handful, feel still slightly off of the wavelength when linking up but it's only his 3rd game!

Looking forward to seeing this gel. Exciting.

Solid performance, should have worked their keeper more. Can't read too much into it because Huddersfield were pitiful, had nothing about them other than booting/elbowing and hoping for Lindelof. Yeovil were more of a threat, defenders will not have an easier game all season.

Sanchez was excellent, his ability to spin on the spot makes him very hard to tackle and get the ball off. Not that fast in a straight line though. Great appetite for the game, kept the tempo high. Lukaku was crap bar his well taken goal.

Poor in the first half, a bit better in the second, Huddersfield offered zero threat, important 3 points.

Three games in a row where we've had the piss kicked out of us.

My thoughts exactly.

Difficult first half but as soon as we got the lead in the 2nd it was pretty easy going. Huddersfield offered no threat whatsoever apart from to our players bodies. Sánchez was class and they just fouled him over and over again.

Good win though.

That first half was drab but second half we played like a team and the players were challenging for every ball, deserved the goal when we got it. Smalling was really good today in both halves, the rest of the team looked decent first half but very good in the second, Sanchez in particular was a class above.

How did those dirty bastards finish with eleven men?!
Not even mistimed tackles. Just cynical hacking.
Hope they go down and never come back.
Weak ref who didn't give us the most blatant penalty you'll ever see.
feck you Huddersfield.

Sánchez looks our best player already. We need to find a way to get the best out of him.

Shae also very good, Lukaku average despite his goal.

Overall good performance against a shockingly aggressive team.

Decent. Eased into it over the course of the second half. Was a bit miserable first half however.

Sanchez is class, just holding onto the ball too much. Would like to see a few more 1 touch passing from him. I can understand picking McTom over Pogba or Herrera. With Rojo replacing Jones we need height on set-piece, while Pogba is erratic at the moment, so McTom gets his chance, played some nice and clean football.

Huddersfield pricks kicked us around the field today. It makes all the more infuriating when you consider they didn't lay a glove on Liverpool midweek, merely pulling down their britches and handing Klopp the vaseline. Utter wankers. I hope they lose every single game they play from now until May.
Amen. Wagner's breath must be faeculent considering how far up his head has been up the arse of his lord and saviour Jürgen Klopp.

Would be great if they were relegated.

Lukaku scored a goal, but except for that he did not do much. Even that goal was because of a pitch perfect pass by Mata, otherwise before that the low cross by Shaw should have been tucked away, but no desire or movement by him to make something happen. Maybe Lukaku should be dropped for the next match and play Sanchez as a false 9 with Martial on the left, Mata on the right and Lingaard behind them. Let's see how much our forward line is effected( positively or negatively) by Lukaku's absence. Next match is against Newcastle, Jose can afford to do that.

Great to see Sanchez score on his home debut.

With McTominay and Matic sitting, Pogba was given so much more freedom to get forward.

Huddersfield are nothing but a bunch of thugs. I will toast the moment these cnuts get sent down.

Sanchez really got absolutely battered all game, it was ridiculous to watch.

We look very good when we're ahead, just totally switch into swagger mode and look so comfortable. If we could start games like that, we could be in business.

What a difference a good partner to Matic made!!! McTominay and Matic bossed that midfield. Solid and secure. Made it simple and nothing went past them and everything moving forward.

Sanchez is a spark to our attack. Mata, Lingard and Sanchez allowed our front line playing fluid. No nonsense and direct. Good solid work rate and production.

You can just see pogba, rashford, and martial were so wasteful when they came on towards the end. They just had to keep being professional and finish the game out.

Jose made the right changes. The energy is good from the team. The players look hungry and played with good sense of urgency. The state of the match thread when the lineup was announced was shameful.

That paints a mental picture.....

..... that I'd like to forget.

Sanchez is on another level, hope his fight and creativity rub off positively on others in the team.

Felt like Matic and McTominay were solid in midfield, much needed after how badly we were picked apart against Spurs.

That's the thing. One was a cup match, though, and it seems to be a rule in the cup that you kick the shit out of superior opposition.

I disagree with many comments about the first half. I think we played pretty well. Once people don't see a goal, they conclude we were poor or average. It doesn't work like that in football. I liked the urgency and energy. We were unlucky not to get a penalty. We usually don't play for 90 minutes. I felt we did on this game.

I also disagree with most commentaries on Lukaku. Give that guy chances and he will score 8 out of 10 times.

Meanwhile, what a BEAST Sanchez is! Getting him was a steal.

McTominay, Jose loves him and I m guessing we will see more of him. He can be a Man Utd legend.

Huddersfield did put in one tackle against Liverpool midweek. Just let the scousers do whatever they wanted.

Then they play Utd and spend 90 minutes kicking us up and down the pitch. cnuts.

Important win today, with liverpool playing Spurs tomorrow we'll increase the gap on at least one of them.

It is the referee's responsibility. He was piss poor or simply biased against us. That said it is Huddersfield. How on Earth did we lose to this lot away.
Sanchez was brilliant and I thought Mata had a very good game. I can't fault anyone as Huddersfield was terrible.

Mata had an excellent game today

He's a very useful squad player. I think he's been involved in something like 50 goals (G+A) since his arrival. That's a great return and he's not even a regular starter. Does he work every game, no but great option over a season.
