Premier League Gameweek 26 (3rd - 5th February 2018)

How can a team be so good at beating the likes of City Arsenal and Spurs but be hopeless at beating teams in the relegation zone.

I'm not sure why people are accusing Spurs of game raising against us.

It's not about game raising, Spurs are fantastic at home and hopeless away from home against the other top 6 sides.

This is just another example of that.

At the risk of wallowing in negativity this match is showing how Spurs can be got at, we just didn't do it apart from ten minutes or so in the first half. Annoying as feck.
Yeh. We weren't any better.
j/k ok!

It happens all the time. Every 3rd or 4th post here is about United, usually crying and moaning about how lousy and shit we are.

It's like yeah I get it, maybe we can be shit sometimes, (note: sometimes) but there's no need to lump us into a conversation every time we discuss someone else's failings. We are two seperate entities and don't exist within some kind of venn diagram whereby we lie in between the connection between two different circles. It'd be like if you're in work and every time you criticise someone for screwing up, a random person shows up to remind you of the time you attempted to make scrambled eggs while drunk and almost set the house on fire.

How the hell can the Spurs defenders let the ball bounce in the 6 yard box, clueless muppets

Spurs aren't great away from home. Their performance was pretty much same when they came to OT

Does it really need to be in the nature of fans on this board to collectively mention us in any comment regarding rival teams? I swear there's always one person who pipes up with the well-worn "Well we aren't any better" if we even attempt to find amusement at other teams failings. At first it was bemusing but now it's downright irritating.
Well said.

To be fair, Spurs worked their socks off against us on Wednesday. No real surprise if they would struggle today against Liverpool.

Haha, that's great.

Grass is always greener at the neighbor's and stuff. Combine that with atmosphere here and you have a toxic combination.

Alexander-Arnold doesn’t need to work on his crossing.

Come on Spurs, I mean they have Lovren in their defense ffs. You just need to shout 'Booo' and he'll make a mistake.

How can a team be so good at beating the likes of City Arsenal and Spurs but be hopeless at beating teams in the relegation zone.
This is quite simple. The bigger teams want to play football and the lesser team just put 11 players in their box and refuse to play football

Some can't help themselves. And I think United's away preformances was discussed enought in the last couple of days.

But we really do need to discuss the fact that United's South Stand doesn't have nearly enough terminal velocity when compared to Anfield.

Saying we need an upgrade on Valencia is a bit much. We have greater worries of need in the rest of the team to be honest. Would it be nice to have an upgrade on Valencia - sure. I'd love to have Meunier at United, but I'd much rather the money was spent on a couple more midfielders to be honest.

I get your point. I'm the last guy to slate Valencia because I am a big, big fan of his. He is a solid player. But the Spurs game got me thinking about how potent we could be if we have a less predictable, ball playing, pacy wing /right back who can whip in dangerous crosses.

Spurs dont seem to want this, they just want to go home. Arsenal will finish above them this year.

They're very good at raising their game. The way they play against the top teams is simply not feasible to maintain throughout the season. They expend so much energy in these types of games that it's simply impossible to replicate in a long season. They really don't have a plan b

Got to be honest I really enjoy watching these teams play. There's so much pace and energy in both teams.

Lloris constantly giving the ball away, if Spurs don't change something tactically this game is already over

Spurs won their cup final against us and now they can freely bend over.
