I think he's genuinely looking out. He knows he can just about any job in Italy should it please him and he's looking more jaded with every week. The lack of reaction to Hazard's goal said it all, he's not the same manager he was last season.

Atm they look like a team most likely to get out of top 4, so I genuinely think they will pull the plug. He obviously fell out with Roman, didn't get the players he wanted and would go anyway at the end of the season. Was hoping to see one last battle with Jose, though.

True, but they generally used to buy decent ones that any manager would be delighted with. In summer 2014 they signed Courtois, Fabregas and Costa. It’s only over the last three years that the standard of signing has dropped off. Jose’s complaints about the failure to strengthen in 2015 got drowned out by the noise surrounding his “meltdown”.

That Roma stint is exactly why I think it's a big gamble. Great record with Barca, but that has to be taken with the benefit of doubt, since he had Messi, Suarez, Neymar up front.
Chelsea fans: Who is in charge of signings at Chelsea? Drinkwater, Zappacosta, Bakayoko, Barkley etc. just appear to be very unambitious signings. Also letting go of Matic was odd.

It is similar to how Brenden is C.V. doping up in Scotland, I just don't see what Luis Enrique would bring to the club, his track record away from Barcelona is not exactly the best, so it just puzzles me why he seems to be almost a shoe in for the job.
If they got Simeone in next season that would make things very interesting.

It's hard to say who's actually in charge but it certainly isn't the manager. I know Marina Granovskaia has quite a lot of power behind the scenes and appears to be the main person in regards to transfers and negotiations
The signings since 2016 have all been mostly underwhelming tbh. Kante is the only one who you can call an actual world class player. Zappacosta was our 4th-5th choice for RWB and was a total panic signing
In all honestly I can't see many managers wanting the Chelsea job right now. No control over transfers, expected to compete on all fronts while the board sign average players for you, the board failing to sign almost all your targets, possibly won't even be in the Champions League next season...
Sadly Luis Enrique is the best we could hope for right now.
Apparently before Pep took the City job he rejected us due to the fact our team needed a complete overhaul, before Hiddink left he said this squad needs some serious work doing to it, Conte has constantly said that this team needs new players in the first 11, yet the board have took no notice and just continued to sign average, cheap players who in no way improve our first team

Its the constant moaning and whining that has brought to his downfall.He has acted like a spoiled kid, just get on with your job and not bring negativity to the room. Furthermore, you don't need a team filled with superstars to beat a Watford and Bournemouth. Conte has been acting as if he is managing a shit team who deserve to be relegated. He has just lost it and thats all doing of his own. He should ave been professional and tried to finish the season without making unnecessary noise.

He evidently doesn't have final say (few managers do but for some reason it's considered a crime with us) but he has some say, our sudden urge to shop in Serie A and go for targetmen is hardly a coincidence.
