CL/EL Semi Finals Draw | Pool to face Bayern/Real in final

They aren't going to press them high. The Roma manager is not so arrogant. He is an adaptive manager; he will utilize Dzeko to the fullest.
Actually got criticized all year because he refused to adapt his formations and tactics to the players/opponents
Roma has the best fullback pair and defensively most solid midfield in Serie A this season and sold Messi Salah without worsening their attack.
what?! Nononono. Their attack has sucked big hairy balls most of the season

Btw, their CBs aren't slow. Fazio is, but Manolas is rapid. Not that it matters against Salah. Everyone's slow compared to him

If Liverpool win the CL then they owe a great debt to Roma for selling them Mo Salah and defeating Barcelona.

This is not good. Ramos is out for the first game and Bayern will get a non existent penalty again. Vidal will also elbow people in the face again in front of the ref and nothing will happen.

Bayern will go out anyway and Bayern will say the ref fecked them over. Losers.

so deluded :lol::lol::lol:

how you even dare to talk about this game like this without feeling ashamed?

I'm thinking the same about you. Got your non existent penalty in the first game. Got your non existent extra time in the second and you don't feel ashamed posting this nonsense? Dear me.

Liverpool wouldn't beat Ronaldo umm I mean Real over two legs but there is a chance of doing it on one-off. I'm sticking to my prediction from before Xmas: Liverpool will win the CL grrrrrrr

Anyone know which channel will have the semi finals on in Canada?

I am honestly delighted to face Bayern in the Semi-Finals, as I'm sure they are too. In a one-off game like the CL final, I can see Bayern beating us but I can't see Liverpool or Roma doing the same. Roma/Liverpool will crumble under the pressure of winning a game they may never get to experience again. Klopp already has the stench of failure to win 5 finals and he will be under immense pressure to deliver a title. Roma has a nice team but there is a reason that they are 23 points behind the Serie A league leaders. They are third in Serie A, a league who most consider to be amongst the weakest in the Big-5 leagues.

Can Lovren, Henderson, Karius, Can, Clyne, Wijnaldum, Jesus, Kolarov, Under, Florenzi, El Shaarawy, etc. put in a mature, tactical performance against a team whose players have won 3 finals in the last 4 years? I don't think so.

The constant whining from Bayernfans about last years ref is incredibly ironic and embarassing at the same time.

So, have UEFA bottled punishing Ramos yet for being pitch side when banned?

Liverpool are game raisers in big games. I'd be extremely worried about them in the final.

Is that the same game where Vidal should have been red carded in the 4th minute and also afterwards for elbowing Kroos? Is that the same game that took place after the first leg where Bayern got a penalty call for free? Is that the same game where an offside goal made Bayern go to extra time? I recall this Bayern Madrid draw being deeply discussed in here last season, it's a huge myth Madrid got benefited. It was the other way around.

Imagine Arsenal winning the Europa league, Liverpool the Champions League, Tottenham the FA Cup and City the league cup and Premier League.

Referee gifted you a nonexistent penalty in the 1st leg and Vidal should have been sent off min 5' for a crazy tackle on Isco from behind in the second leg against us .

Vidal seems to be out for the 1st leg (and probably 2nd leg?) vs Real Madrid, with Neuer not being fit and Coman out, Zidane lucky star strike again :D

Klopp under immense pressure? That's crazy however bad his record in finals is. Just to get to the semi-finals is a fantastic achievement. Barring a huge collapse, and an amazing run of form from Chelsea this will be the first time since 2010 that we (Liverpool) will have qualified for the Champions League two seasons in a row. To reach the semi's at the first time of asking is wonderful.

As for Roma, I, like most Liverpool fans are very wary, they're a very good side. If we do get past them (and that's a big 'if') then It's anybody's game to win. I wouldn't be so over-confident if I were you. You could be in for a surprise.

I've enjoyed it greatly for my part. I'm kinda hoping it happens again, same way :D

Very strange paragraph, over-rating Roma and under-rating Real at the same time.

You are very likely to beat Roma, but very unlikely to beat Real (or even Bayern).

I am sure Klopp has his personal ambition to not be a 'nearly-man'. He won 2 League titles but that just makes him a good coach and not an elite one. He will also be aware of how a semifinals/finals loss will deflate the club and may even derail it if Salah, Firminho and/or Mane decide that this is as far as the club will go.

A loss in the finals to Roma/Liverpool should be a sackable offense for Zidane, especially since we are not even competing in La Liga. Other than Salah, Firminho and Manolas, I'm not sure who would make it into the first 11 at Real.

You really don’t know much about our club do you. The fact we’re in the semi final is more than enough for most of us to know we’re heading in the right direction. If we don’t win it yes we’ll be disappointed but to think it’ll have that much of an effect on our team morale and fan morale is laughable. A lot of us were hoping we would make it to the quarters before the season started, we’re delighted to be in the semi’s and the morale at this club hasn’t probably been higher in years. Klopp’s done a fantastic job and let’s not forget this is only his second full season at this club and we’re looking very likely to make back to back top 4 seasons which we haven’t done in nearly a decade.

Madrid are a great team no doubt, but you’ve underperformed this season and you really shouldn’t underestimate us. Look what Juventus almost did to you, when Ronaldo doesn’t perform, neither do you guys it seems. You’re probably right that only 2-3 players from our squad would get in your best 11 but honestly it’s a similar story with City and we’ve beaten them 3 times this season. Our players typically step up when it matters and I’d have complete faith in them to give you a run for your money in the final if we can both get past our respective semi finalists (though it wouldn’t shock me if one of us don’t). Who knows if we’ll win it but I’m confident whatever happens our club certainly won’t “derail” because of it. Just think we deserve a little more respect myself that’s all.

If Madrid can get to the final by beating Bayern, they will be champions. If Bayern beats Madrid, Liverpool has a chance of winning it, as well as Bayern.

Real Madrid has won their last 12 international finals they have played, there is no team in the world that knows how to play better that kind of games.

The last time Madrid lost a final it was almost 18 years ago vs Boca Juniors. Thats crazy!

That’s a pretty crazy stat and justifies exactly why I’d rather Bayern go through if we can make it past Roma. However hopefully Klopp would use that stat to motivate players just like when we wanted to be the team to ruin City’s “invincible season”. Gotta get past Roma first though and they’ve got to get past Bayern and I think Bayern right now are the better team but whether they will be in Europe who knows!

Vidal is out for the rest of the season. Blessing in disguise? :nervous:
Vidal's energy was a big problem for us last season. He's the type of player our midfielders have trouble with.

That said he did screw up a lot last season

Bit over confident me thinks! But that’s fine, suits us perfectly being under dogs. We where under dogs against that great Milan side also and gave them a three nil half time lead. We all know what happened next, that’s football.

Must say though, that stat about not losing finals for 18 years is staggering.

That's ridiculous! Surely, that must be a record, especially at that level?

I think Bayern may have Real's number over 2 legs though, there must be a limit to the amount of times Real can be saved by Ronaldo!

Liverpool look to be the most balanced side, but you have to wonder about Klopp's record in finals. Assuming Liverpool reaches the final and loses, I wonder if that would make Klopp one of the biggest European bottlers of all time?

Last few games James was playing a better version of this Vidal, I hope he can do that again.

It's nice to see James playing well in CM. I always rated him, even above Isco at times, but I didn't expect him to adapt to that positon alongside Javi Martinez.

It's just international finals so it's not that impressive, 3 CLs plus a few supercups and club world cups. They've lost the cup final in that time.

Liverpool-Madrid would be a great final for neutrals, don't think they'll both go through though.

I'm thinking the same about you. Got your non existent penalty in the first game. Got your non existent extra time in the second and you don't feel ashamed posting this nonsense? Dear me.

You're the one who took the discussion that way so technically you're the one who is posting nonsense.

That’ll be fun. Doesn’t Martin Tyler do some commentary for TSN?

Arlo white, lee Dixon and Graeme le saux usually do the games, TSN gets the feed from NBC.

Don’t worry though, arlo white is a HUGE Liverpool fan, kept referring to them as “we” during the game v Man Utd recently.

The guy responsible for awarding a CL spot to EL winners should be showered with gold. Now we have ourselves a proper game on thursday next week too. To get the relevant PL clubs interested in the EL was a masterpiece (Everton weren't going to win anyway so not much you can do to incentive them).

My money is on Atlético to go through though. I don't see how they can stop Griezmann and Costa.

4 UCL finals in that time bro, not 3.

Also they won the 4 European Supercups after that UCL Finals.

Still more important, they have won the 6 UCL finals they have played. They had never lost one.

But of course, first they have to beat Bayern in semifinals, that will be a hard task.

Mustafi couldn't stop me, never mind Costa.

I like the Europa league. I like having more footy to watch. I would make it a tad smaller & stop the 3rd place CL group finishers from dropping down though.
