Martial has got to remain at United | No, he hasn't been unfollowing United players on Instagram

Very good for some of you that you've chosen different careers to football. Young player is inconsistent, sell. He definitely will be inconsistent for the rest of his career.
Like all young players.
Changed the game yesterday. Hope he stays.

70 minutes of watching Sanchez get bullied by Arsenal players lol and watching Lukaku miscontrol every pass (good crosser mind) It was night and day watching Martial come on and ghost past defenders with such ease... Imagine letting your only attacker who run at pace with the ball and beat his man go.

My Lord it really doesn't have to be a Martial v Sanchez thing you know? I mean, Lingard was quite easily our worst performer yesterday. Sanchez was playing against his old club and has just come off a couple of MOTM performances in huge games.

Fwiw... every single manager in the World CLEARLY has favourites that will play no matter what.
 
I’d love to see Martial given a long stint as our main CF. I honestly think he will grow into that role if given the chance.
We can’t let him leave he has too much talent. I’d honestly rather lose Lukaku than him. Lukaku should be nowhere near Utd in my opinion be it controversial. How can we go from Ruud Rvp and the likes of Rooney to Lukaku! The man can’t even control the ball! It kills me to see him in a Utd shirt. I just don’t think he’s good enough.
 
You are martial. You have two options. Be substitute ( often unused) in man utd or play in first 11 in some big club?
Our best chance is to play on his agent and throw him ridiculous amount of money.

Considering your name and you're only post bashing Lukaku doesn't surprise me.
I agree with not letting Martial go and we should give him more game time, but saying Lukaku shouldn't be anywhere near UTD is ridiculous.
Yes sometimes his first touch is poor, but other times his first touch and flicks are amazing and lead to goals. He's our top scorer in his first season and only at 24 years old he hasn't even peaked.

I suggest lowering your pitchfork because without him we wouldn't be top 4.

And thats the sole reason why martial is going to leave. He does seem to like or maybe even love the club itself, our Tony.

What if he went on loan to another major club?
He can play for PSG, Bayern, Juve, etc.
When he returns a year later, he'll definitely be ready to play for Jose's MUFC (Jose won't be able to say that Martial is not mature or experienced enough).
 
It’s not as simple as Alexis vs. Martial, they both have different qualities. But unless Alexis moves to the right side, Martial isn’t going to play.

I agree Martial must stay though, but there’s something about his demeanour that doesn’t fill me with confidence. Then again, Thierry Henry was similar in that regard so who knows. I think Martial could play for any top European club and be a stand out player.

Sign the contract and show just how talented you are.

Martial will not be a guaranteed starter in any big club, he, just like Coman at Bayern, will have to play very well and win a starting spot. He, imo, has the talent to be a big player anywhere.

The fact that he's not being linked with RM, Barca, Bayern or City suggests he'll have to go to a second-tier club if he wants to leave.

Come on Tony, United are the best you'll get. Sign the damn paper!

Yeah, there's loads of very talented young footballers on the fringes at big clubs. Marco Asensio at Madrid would be another. He's the exact same age as Martial, seems to be a better player and got a similar number of minutes over the course of the season.

He would be in first 11 in juve( mandzukic). Arsenal(iwobi or welbeck). Milan(whoever). Arsenal and milan are not our level but in his age, better starter there than second sub here.
And he is linked with bayern. Their two wingers have 70 years together so it would be good move for them and martial.

↑ the source is doubtful but I've been consistent in that I want to see him play more centrally. Not that he's bad on the wing but I'd like to see our wide players ie wingers and full backs, get to the byeline and whip in crosses on occassion, vary it up. We are too predictable on the left. Martial wants to cut inside, Young wants to check back onto his right- that's fine but at least mix it up a little. Wide players getting in crosses is not something we see enough off, actually from both wings.

United have no intention of selling Martial and are not looking to sign any new forwards. If he wants to leave then he'd really have to push for it, but United are good at holding on to players.

The goal he scored against Wolfsburg in 2016 is what I want Martial to do more. Overall his finishing is very good, just needs to improve his off the ball movement.
 
I'd be annoyed if he was let go. He's a very talented young player who now should be getting regular game time.

Mourinho doesn’t have the best record when it comes to young talent that go on to become elite players. What Salah and de Bruyne have achieved this year makes for a pretty damning indictment.

Martial seems conflicted. If I recall, we’ve seen him point to the badge. We’ve seen him focused and ruthless. However, we’ve seen him despondent and aloof—alarmingly often TBH. I don’t know that he sees his best, happiest self in a United shirt.

I wasn’t too worried about his demeanor until I heard on a podcast that he was known as a jovial figure growing up and at Monaco. Maybe that’s not the case, but it’d be a bad, bad sign if he cut such a stark contrast here.

If he were to leave, we’d rue it. He’s a top talent with massive upside. He’s good enough to grow into the type of player in a squad of proper United historic quality. Will he get there is anyone’s guess, but we damned sure won’t see it he goes. Mourinho and Woody need to make this happen. Retention is just about as big as acquisition. We learned in 2009 how big that can be.

Not with that attitude. He runs at the first sight of competition. Sanchez is only here for 2 months and the young lad already wanted to leave.

He wont get far with that attitude, unless he pulls a young rooney/ronaldo performance every week he's bound to get found out.

He should bid his time in a team where he has the luxury of not having to perform every week.

It's a tough competition in top team football, you dont have time to develop neither at united or madrid or barcelona or any other team that has serious ambition to win the league every year.

Blame jose as much as you want, but if a player can't follow instruction then the manager would be better of picking other players that wants to follow his instruction.

People are naive if they think any other manager would let him play without following their instruction.

What bullshit. He coped fine at the start of the season with Rashford. He put his head down and deservedly became first choice as his performances were better than the competition. If he 'ran at the first sight of competition' he wouldn't have even got into the team earlier in the season as he wouldn't have been bothering.

BS as pointed out earlier. He didn't get enough game time last season. At the start of this season he was coming on in the last 15 minutes and fighting for his place with Rashford. He won his place and then was dropped? He's still putting in decent -> Good performances even though he comes on in the last few minutes and is relying on tired team mates.

What is so difficult to understand in that? He wants to play and he thinks he deserves to start more often (which a lot of fans also agree to). He has been unfairly treated and now wants out which many of us were fearing any normal person would do.

We aren’t privy to that. As much as this is all speculation, being bad afraid of competition seems to be the least substantiated by the rumor mill.

Maybe there’s a frustration there, but I’d be reluctant to take that big step of saying it’s fear. There’s a big difference between an elite young player feeling he’s not given the chance he’s earned versus being scared of competition.

Could be a number of things. Exactly what’s driving him—maybe demanding a full market value wage in keeping with United’s financial stature—is beginners us outsides.

A crack at it would be a start. If Lukaku and Sanchez are untouchable there's not much point in him hanging around. He immediately lost his position to Sanchez despite being our most in form player. Then Sanchez kept the spot for 10 games despite being crap in most of them. You couldn't blame him for wondering if the deck is stacked against him.

I'd be surprised of Jose allowed this. He didn't let Hazard play the number 10 and would rather have Mata on the right than in the center.

Would sit on the bench for all those clubs. Then show his grumpy face whenever he comes on and the Martial FC supporters will say how he needs to get more time on the pitch to pick up form. This lad can't even start for his national team and will barely make it to the world cup, what's the explanation for his poor numbers there? Martial had a good first half of the season but for the past 4 months, he hasn't done anything when he has started or come on as a sub. If he can't even fight for his position and make Jose switch Sanchez to the right or in a central position, he is being poor in the training as well on the pitch. In reality he is not able to displace Mata and Lingard and not just Sanchez who is apparently manager's favorite. Well Sanchez has put in two MOTM performances in the past month vs Spurs and City, such mature performances which Martial could have never done or the workrate Sanchez gave. The lack of balls is a massive reason why I can't care what goes on with him. It's hardly to do with his talent but his determination and his attitude has been poor since Jan and it shows with how poor he has been on the pitch as well.

Lukaku is untouchable not because of favoritism, but because of how the team set up. We need a strong big CF to play in our system. Having martial playing up top means the whole team approach has to change as he has other area of strenght and also weaknesses. It's only logic.

I don't think Jose has anything personal against Martial, his reputation and job performance is at stake and I don't believe the notion that he doesn't play Martial because he doesn't like the guy.

What would you do if you were Jose? Bench Lukaku? Move Sanchez to the right even to the detrimental of the team? Not buying Sanchez because Martial could "potentially" be better than Sanchez in 3 years time?
