I also thought we attacked and played good football. I think we had three primary problems: Jones' error and Rashford and Sanchez played below par, especially Rashford. I would have given Sanchez a pass but for a suposed super star, I expected more. Pity that Pogba's outstanding play won't be noticed now.
We missed Lukaku and Martial would certainly have been a better option to Rashford.

At the end of the day we got a taste of our own medicine! They got the goal off of one mistake and then sat back and dared our sub par attack to score.

It worked because we didn’t have lukaku today. That was probably the difference. Credit to hazard though. He was top class.

I am gonna go on a rant here. Firstly why is the name of everything holy on this green earth did Jose buy Sanchez? He has been on par with Depay for dishing out shite performance wearing the 7 shirt.
Secondly, Getting Sanchez has not only been a huge waste of money, but more importantly stunted the growth of both Martial and Rashford, both payers with immense talent who could have really grown this year.
Third, Jose is done, his play is not only boring to watch, he has been figured out and the game has moved on. The guy has not evolved at all like SAF did to adapt.
Fourth, United were as lucky as a blind person finding a four leaf clover to come 2nd this season in the league. Next season is going United will be struggling to finish top 6 with Jose at the helm.
Fifth, why is no one in United addressing the right side? United is so lob sided while going forward, any manager with half a brain knows how to defend against United. Mahrez would have been a much much better buy than Sanchez.
Sixth, United will be the noisy neighbors to City until and unless Jose gets the feck out of here, remember the next season is 3rd season, Jose's 3rd season.
Seventh, United under Jose are building the team around old players rather than young players like Pogs or Martial or Rashford, this is fecking ridiculous. No wonder Salah secked under Jose, creative free players suffer under this mutt, SAF use to give free license to his creative players and we were successful.
And lastly, if Jose buys stop gap old aged players this transfer season, United will be ruined for years, becoming the new Liverpool fr decades to come.

In fairness to Jones that was a wonderful first touch by Hazard which set him up to past Jones. If not a perfect touch he doesn't get behind and it's much more difficult to score. Sometime defenders are beaten by great offensive play and that was the case here IMO.

Being beaten is fine, but you have to make it difficult, Hazard was forced into a wide angle and Jones made a tackle that had about a 10 percent chance of success. De gea def had a better chance of saving from that angle

We play "OK", go 1-0 down and can't beat a deep lying defense.

Our attack is absolutely shocking for a premier league team, if Mourinho is to stay in charge he desperately needs help in the attacking department.

Just because we had a feckload of possession does not mean we played well. Our chance creation rivals some Championship clubs.

Take out the Pogba chance which was from a set play and it really wasn't that different to when we beat Liverpool at home which was apparently a masterclass by us. Lots of the ball, shots blocked but very little actually created (Liverpool probably should have had a penalty, we had the Rashford shot saved but both had not much else).

The issue was we started dismally (basically the first 40 minutes we were shit), this was a game between two negative sides and it was always likely that the side who went ahead would then just sit there and rely on the opposition not being good enough to break them down. We did have a go because we have the 2nd best and most expensive squad in the country but still didn't trouble Chelsea too often, the chance they had with Alonso was as good as anything we had in the second half.

Just wrong. It is very hard to actually score in football. I remember pep guardiola coming out last season when city drew with everton and said football is a different game, because with the possession city had in that match, if it were any other sport, they would have won comfortably. But not in football because it is very hard to actually score a goal. It becomes even more difficult when you are chasing goal because you are losing. Then it becomes even more difficult if the team defending is very good defensively. If you dont believe me, watch Inter Milan defend against Barca in the champions league semi final, where they just kept every player back and barca, even with messi could not break them down. Apply the same mechanics to us today.

Now if we had got the first goal, we would have defended and Chelsea would have struggled to break us down.

Oh this is such a downer . Chelsea were there for the taking . Bad tactics screwed our chances . Our starting 11 wasn't up to the mark . Rashford caved under pressure but he was trying . Sanchez and Lingard were big downers especially Sanchez because he doesn't bring anything to our plays and usually complicates everything even simple part . I don't know where his flicks are supposed to end up because all of them end up at the opposition feet . He has finished all our momentum from earlier this year . Our defenders were ok since we always have one oh my god brain fart moment every game and today it ended up à penalty . Our full backs are shocking . We really need rreinforcement there . Apart from that midfield was so so . Herrera was too pre occupied with Hazard but still he played a couple of nice through balls . Matic was mostly good but he did scoff two long shots which could have been crucial but it is not his job to score the goals . I can see why we are so interested in Savic . We need crucial goals from midfield and Pogba always misses crucial chances .
