Players who you think will disappoint at the World Cup

How can he? He is a metronom - nobody blames him for too less goals or the defense. He will not get the blame if Germany fails.

I see that at Bayern - because of the dominance in midfield that at the same time makes it difficult for the offensives as there is no space the midfielders still get sugarcoated even if they do not get the offensives in a position that they can really surprise the opponent with faster passing and side changes.
I feel like his levels have dropped this season and he isn't the same player he was 2/3 years ago. OK Germany will still do well but there are some weaknesses still that can be exploited.

Busquets - No Xavi, No Iniesta, no tiki-taka, no party

Otamendi - Bang average player made shine due to Pep's system. Will get caught with his pants down in a mediocre team

Firmino - Not sure how much he will start but outside of Klopp's system, might be tough for him to shine.

Khedira - Too old now to depend on for carrying the likes of Ozil

Phil Jones - If he starts, I expect him to cock up with an injury during a crucial game

Lewandowski - Expect him to have a quite tournament

Just missed the list : Carvajal - De Gea saves his ass time and again

James just because it's impossible to do a better one than 2014.

Rashford. Because the media will build him up to be something really special over these next 3 weeks and explain how the only reasons he's been poor for United is that big bad Jose.

When, in actual fact, it'll be further proven in the tournament that he's bang average.
He won’t have the Jose shackles on so might show what a brilliantly talented player he is.

But he will not be the one that is getting blamed no matter what happens (when it is not a defensive error from him that directly leads to goal). He still will have his 95%+ ball possession and that is enough for a lot of the people not to blame him.

-Harry Kane,
would crumble under pressure
-Cristiano Ronaldo,
would be knackered after long season with Madrid
-Diego Costa,
his game style doesnt suit spanish NT gameplay
-Paul Pogba
Still doesnt know how to be effective and less reactionary midfielder

They won't be come the start of play. we have clearly the worst English squad in decades yet there are some saying that it's a brave, exciting selection and praising Southgate for virtually nothing.

Southgate is getting praise because he's actually implementing a system rather than chucking our best XI players on the pitch.

You'd know this if you had bothered to watch England recently before commenting.

I have watched every qualifying game and I don't see progress, can I ask how you expect this England team will create anything when there is no previous for it, and we have selected a squad devoid of creative players who can pass forward i.e. Wilshere and Shelvey and selected a midfield with the likes of Henderson, Dier and RLC who has no right to be there?

What I have seen when watching this England team is an inability to break down teams that sit back and make it difficult which leads me to think we will struggle in the groups, and possibly only stumble into the knockouts. Against the better teams we have faced we have scarcely had a positive result and in none of the games I have seen under Southgate had we created an abundance of chances or scored goals.

My predictions are: Tunisia 0-0, Panama 1-0, Belgium 1-2. I expect we will go out in the last 16 whoever we face (likely Poland or Columbia).

Though not big names with an international expectation on them, i think the more talented young Russian creative midfielders like Golovin and Alexey Miranchuk that have broke through domestically over the past couple of seasons and been bright sparks in what has been a terrible generation, will struggle to showcase themselves or live up to the kind "future of russian football" tags put on them by certain hype loving quarters of the sports media.

Both have the technical ability and seemingly natural understanding of the game to become very good in the future if willing to challenge themselves and see if they can adapt to a top 4 league, but between big tournament inexperience, a very weak defence(other than right flank if Mario fernandes plays) which will need a lot of cover, mediocre tactics from manager Cherchesov and the domestic pressure....it could be a demoralising experience.
