Mbappé is a level above everyone else on the pitch. And that includes Messi

Everytime he's on the ball you can see the brown stain spreading through the pants of every argentina player
 
Not sure about the Pogba criticism. He has been decent till now. Also, he is playing behind 3 attackers and a Giroud so has to be contained and hold his position on the pitch. We are definitely not going to see anything expansive from him either.

I am not sure why there is always an expectation from him to be the difference.
 
Think Argentina were the better team.

Both sides have clear tactics, Argentina’s is actually very smart. France don’t play with a left winger, Matuidi is staying more central so he can double up on messi with Kante and Hernandez isn’t that strong a player. Argentina are keeping the ball on that side, creating overloads and getting joy the problem is that Mercado and pavon are average players. A top tier right back/Right wing combo would be dismantling the left side of this France team.

France looking to use their pace, nothing fancy about it, draw the defenders up the pitch then get in behind.

Disagree. Rashford and Lingard have fantastic movement. Always running off the ball like Mbappe is now.
 
Argentina are woeful. They can't attack and they can barely defend. They mostly ride on individual moments of quality/chaos doing something in their favour..

France are absolutely loaded with quality but their manager is a handbrake who holds them back. They were comfortably the better team but IMO they should be comfortably tossing away Argentina. Instead they're making it a competitive match by being too restrained.

Of all the forums where I'd expect to see that first half performance by Pogba rightfully being praised, it would be on a Man Utd board, god bless the Caf. Even when he's good, some of you lot can't help but shit on him.
 
Argentina really have terrible players all around the team. The likes of Higuain, Aguero, Dybala, etc. should be ashamed performing worse than this lot currently playing.
 
Such a wide swing of opinions on this game if you look at Amolbhatia and Arbitrium's views on Argentina's first half.:lol:

Don't hate me for saying that but once you go up you always start playing on walking pace. This France side has too many similarities with Brazil in terms of lazy attitude.

Yep. Both teams are all about individual quality. Difference is France has plenty of it while Argentina has close to zero except for Messi and Banega (and Dybala, Aguero, ... of course^^).

Dunno why. It's "cool" to shit on anything United on here. The same was even happening after the England game last night.
 
Pogba has been great. Keeping it simple yet finding the runners. Mbappe obviously sensational.

It's strange, if they attacked them some more they'd crumble, yet they let them get back in the game by defensive tactics.
 
Not read the thread but am I the only who thought Lloris should have done better?

It was a very good strike but it wasn't a bullet (like Matic against Spurs last season in the FA Cup Final, who funnily enough was Lloris again in goal!).

Lloris should have moved his feet better. He dived whilst on his feet, if that makes sense, which means he was on his heels. That's poor imo.
 
How the narrative has changed in 5 minutes. :lol: Argentina was rubbish until that moment, absolutely didn't deserve to go level based on that performance.

Yeah, you can argue France should go for the kill, but they still looked far better and only team capable of scoring in this match.

I totally agree, that's one of the reason why I'm always pessimistic with them. And that goes beyond the manager, the team lacks an on field leader.
 
France should take Giroud off and bring on Dembele. Argentina are already shitting themselves with Mbappe. Imagine if they have to deal with Dembele as well. Wait 10 minutes or so and then unleash him.
 
I hope Pogba continues this kind of form for us. He could easily be pinging those balls to Lukaku or Martial (if he stays).
 
Lloris really should have done better for that goal. Ffs, Umtitty got closer to the ball than he did!
 
I am still irrationally bitter about DiMaria leaving United. I hate him. Lol. But that fecker has osme quality about him. Great shot. I just dont understand what Argentina is trying to do.

France, its pretty clear. People having a go at Pogba is about as common as a clock hitting 12 twice a day. Mbappe is not my favorite, but the boy is lighting quick and is feeling it out there.

I reiterate, United players are the most underrated on this forum. If Pogba is a City player, your assessment of him would be the complete opposite.
 
Meh half. Don't like the fact that we are being dominated by Argentina's midfield. Didn't like Pogba to be honest, I think he got dispossessed about 3 times. Griezmann is not playing well and Giroud has been terrible so far. Mbappe... I have no words how brilliant he has been. Think we can go through, but I'm worried.
