Quite. It does make me chuckle a little when some get quite indignant at Martial’s sale price. Maybe everyone’s got shares in United and relying on increased dividend returns to pay their water bills?

Mbappe's off the ball game is already one of the best in the world, and yes he tracks back to support the fullback for both PSG and France. There is no compromise when it comes to top players (Neymar also facilitates the running of the team instead of standing in one area for the whole game).
He's better at virtually everything required of a footballer and by a considerable margin. All the while being 3 years younger.

Then why some United fans get carried away , kneejerk hyperbole Martial scoring most of his goals last season against tired defender legs ? Mbappe is 5x the player Martial is, not only he is faster , trickier , have an eye for pass , track back , can shoot well with both feet , have great off the ball movement.
The only thing martial did is waiting for the ball and try to dribbler everyone , can only shoot with his inside right feet on top of that.
which for me worth swapping + 150m at least.
The most ridiculous thing Martial FC fans did is how they blame Mourinho for telling Martial to help defending. Name me an attacker who doesn't do defensive job other than Lionel Messi i'll wait.

It's a tough call for me. When you see Pogba play to his full potential, there aren't many players you'd want over him. The frustration of course is that he infrequently reaches that level with United.
At least with Pogba you know his full potential and it's a problem of consistency and maturity only. I have seen the full package of Verratti and despite being a really good player, he doesn't reach the same potential as Pogba imo.
But I guess the idea is that Mbappe is a far better player/prospect than Martial.
Agree so it's a tough one as we said. It will depend on which one you prefer more, Pogba or Mbappe. I love and want both but I think we will struggle more to replace Pogba's full potential if he ends up achieving it with any other CM but can still get some other good attackers that do the job well upfront even if they don't have the same explosiveness as Mbappe. That's only according to this hypothetical scenario.
I have seen some one like SMS that was reported at a price of 150m for example and simply despite being a good player still no match for Paul in his top form, so I prefer to keep Pogba.
Where do I sign? I'll take Martial personally to Paris, with a red lace.

And of course....Mbappe is a player we know Jose admires. We also know that Jose doesn't seem to like Martial (for whatever reason).

I wouldn't say mediocre, but Mbappe is certainly on another level.
He has boundless energy and wants to score goals.
With Martial, his head is constantly down. When he doesn't have the ball, he seems like he is sulking and doesn't want to put in the graft.

The fact is - yes I would swap martial for mbappe - but I would swap Lukaku and Sanchez for mbappe too - why is there no threads about that? Let's swap the big guy who can destroy Panama but only dummy against Japan - sounds fantastic. Martial dummies 3 or 4 opponents a game leading the ball to a striker that plays football like he is struggling to sew.

Mbappé is the best and more decisive player of the 4. But the way United's currently built, Verratti is meaningless. Would swap Pogba for Mbappé in a heartbeat -even Pogba would!- but not sure about the whole deal...
Ships already sailed for this one.. they would probably want Martial + £100m. Rather keep Martial and actually play him.
I don't really understand it. Almost every wide player helps in the defensive phase, including Martial when he can be bothered. I remember when we were losing to West Brom and Martial lost the ball very easily, he waved his hands in the air and walked back while West Brom were counter attacking. That is the complete opposite of what you are supposed to do, he took no responsibility for his mistake and let down the team. It rubs some fans like me the wrong way when someone acts like that on the pitch.

No, I would only swap one of them + money because we need one as back-up for the LW. If the situations were reversed and Rashford was leaking to the press that he wanted to leave I'd use Rashford as a makeweight for Mbappe. But at the moment that's Martial.

That pretty much describes everything that Jose hates in a player.
Not true at all, he just likes players that work for the team. He likes to be able to fully control games so players that keep turning over possession don’t fit his system. It’s not that he doesn’t like skilful players, he just needs them to know when to use that skill and when to reign it in and work for the team.
Jose Mourinho bought in Ozil who was an exciting attacking player. So long as you work for the team you'll be valued by him, Ozil was the ultimate team player and was one of the first names on the team sheet for him.

Our club, like all except PSG and City perhaps, works with a finite amount of resources.
I am confident to predict that our annual transfer budgets for the next 5 years wouldn’t allow us to buy one Mbappe a season.
With this in mind, I think it’s sensible for fans to discuss how we are deploying our limited finances.
Fans don’t pay the bills but they don’t win the trophies, either, and they’re still happy when their team wins.
Not initially, but when I see some of forward balls Pogba is able to pass forward and see Mbappe going for them... yeah I would.
