The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

My advice to Iran would be, tear up the JCPOA and get that bomb.
Hopefully it doesn't come to that and Trump is sent packing.
Treating a country that doesn't have a bomb worse than one that does, makes no sense.

They should release a statement about how smart Obama was in the negotiations and they made a great deal and and that trump doesn't understand the complexities of international negotiations. They should then publically court Europe and China to fight unjust sanctions and do an international media blitz on how these sanctions are only goox for Putin's crime organization.

The first part is complete nonsense and is definitely on the list for moronic things he has tweet.

But his last sentence is actually true (in a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day manner). California native tribes did practice tree clearing which is actually necessary in chaparral climate zones. That practice is all the more important since foolish colonials brought in Eucalyptus trees to California from Australia. This was profoundly short-sighted as Eucalyptus are matchsticks and also spread faster than natives crowding them out and replacing trees like oaks and pines. It actually would be a good thing if California got rid of all of the invasive Eucalyptus.

Exact same problem in Portugal. feck the Eucalyptus. Some speak of a wood and paper industry lobby, sonce it's fast growth makes it highly efficient economicaly. But at what cost?

Can someone explain in layman's terms what Trump thinks California is doing wrong about the fires? Is he blaming the governor for the path of rivers? Or are there some renewable energy dams or something he doesn't like?

To speak in the prophetic words of the siege tank driver from Starcraft: what is his major malfunction?!

I'm sorry to hear that, but thanks for letting me know. I didn't know that was also a problem in Portugal.

Better water storage isn't going to stop forest fires or make them easier to fight. Not sure what he's thinking there (is anyone, ever?).

I dont think Trump even knows what he's trying to say...probably because he's completely ignorant of emergency management. He's probably just trying to create a bit of a diversion to keep people's minds off the Manafort case as well as make his followers believe he's doing a bit of work during his 10 day vacation.

I don't think it's possible other than to say it's obvious the guy is a simpleton, proffering only 'solutions' your average 5 year-old might come up with.

I think he may be suggesting that the Governor should somehow redirect California's rivers to where the fires are. That's the only thing that he could be suggesting, isn't it?

fixed.

It’s a reversal of a plot line from the 1997 movie Volcano.

Tommy Lee Jones diverts a lava flow into the ocean in order to save Los Angeles.

If you can divert a lava flow, you can divert a river!

So another Windrush scenario. Accept this time they are not hiding the fact. Hopefully this will be fought against very strongly in the courts.

Still no mention of the death and destruction either OR of him doing something Presidential like actually visiting the area and people affected by the fires.

I wish the worst on these people. I have no remorse.

Don't ban me.

I keep hoping all of this are the last spasms of a dying ultra conservative movement. I actually do believe a level of conservative beliefs has a place in society, but not to this degree of pure hate and ignorance. When it comes to Immigrations you imho should never ever touch those who went through the system the legal way. It's a PIA and requires significant commitment to get through (unless of course you re the type who has people who can get around the rules for you with power and money..which if anything, THOSE statuses should be in danger.. But hey buying your way around the rules is fine right?... )

 I honestly thought that as I was typing it out. You can guarantee he would be there like a shot if it was in a Trump voting state.

That area is very Trumpy. Those are the stupid cnuts who want to break away into a new state. If they did that I'd be curious what their plans for firefighting would be.

I don't feel sorry for this person. Am I a bad person? Votes have consequences?
A family member of mine who is a rabid Trump supporter (his whole side of the family is), is about to have his green card revoked and probably deported because of a drug charge (for which he pled guilty and did time) over 30 years ago. The guy is in his 50s, doesn't speak the language of the country he was born in, & came here when he was 5 years old. He was taken by ICE when he went to finally apply for citizenship. He wanted citizenship so he could vote for Trump in 2020.

I have no point, I just love telling that story.

It probably derives from the central California farmers who put up signs saying Nancy Pelosi is causing the drought. What they actually want is the State to divert two rivers solely to supply them with cheap water

One of the oldest tricks in racism.

He has an absolutely nutty idea of what genes are, what they do, and what they're responsible for.

He has a nailed on belief that black = less.

It's a level of stupidity that's unfair to call racism. He's really really thick. Racist too. But sometimes the stupidity wins out.

Yeah...I mean I'm a fairly sympathetic person in general, but it's difficult to feel sorry for the supporters of an ignorant, horrible man who's actively ruining lives with ill-thought out policies that are only going to worsen America. Even more so when people discover they can't tread on others without facing consequences themselves.
