Mourinho tells Paul Pogba he'll never captain Manchester United again

I like a captain that isn't afraid to speak his mind. It's a bit rich that someone as outspoken as jose can always give it but not take it.
He's not a captain. He was made one as a sign of good will and he shat on it.

How do you know what the players think? Lee Dixon was speaking a number of weeks ago about Mourihno's constant negativity pre-season. He said that players would be affected by this, and could have a negative impact. It is one think to speak your mind - Fergie did it often enough - and another to consistently undermine your players for your own selfish reasons. I personally am feed up of it.
Think they both should go to be honest. I am not happy with Jose, but Pogba and his fat agent can sling their hooks as well.

He's a garbage captain anyway.
What sucks is that I can't think of a player that genuinely deserves the captaincy. De Gea maybe? Can't imagine him being a vocal leader but shit it's better than Valencia.

Lukaku showed good signs of captain material during the world cup but I feel like he needs to be here longer.

This will be easy to check. First game without Valencia and Pogba in squad. If Pogba isn't captain then we are fecked. Then i can't see Pogba staying here next year. And Pogba with all his flaws is our best player by far( except de Gea of course)

Pogba's attitude has been nothing short of disgraceful this season, speaking against his manager the way he does and so often is not acceptable.
He can think whatever he wants but these things should be said privately, not to the press.

When a 47 year old Keane entered the pitch today, you could literally still sense the aura of leadership around him. He really ought to be cloned, re-signed & ready to show our current squad of players what it all is about.

Would Mourinho really say no-one is bigger than the club? He thinks that he himself is, for one.

Absolutely. And rightly so at the time, Pogba should be very aware that no one is bigger than the club.
That's what captains do, they speak out. Keano is still fondly remembered as one of our greatest, if not the greatest captain of our club. And how do you know it didn't give the likes of Fletcher a kick up the arse, and improve their careers for the better? Thats captain material, and Pogba didn't even go that hard. He was careful and diplomatic and gently hinted that our football could be a bit more adventurous. Then fans like yourself get upset because jose's being undermined.

Pogba has brought this upon himself with his constant comments and interviews. The manager has to show that he is in charge and that player power can not be tolerated.

Fergie showed Keane the door when things started to unravel and that was after years of incredible service and commitment. Mourinho isn’t popular, but he’s not wrong here to put his foot down in this instance. If a player doesn’t want to be here, then get him out and move on.

It's funny that people think Pogba has no right to speak about Jose's performances, but Jose can trash any player he likes publicly, practice what you preah. It's also interesting that the framing of Pogba and Raiola as the "bad guys" in this, yet Pogba had no issues at Juve and left on good terms, where as Mourinho has lost the dressing room at his last two clubs.

Maybe both need to go, I can see the logic there as neither are showing a particularly good attitude, but to lose Pogba and keep Mourinho would be insanity, at least Pogba offers us something and under another manager could shine as he did for Juve and does for France, Jose has nothing left to offer United at this point.

How come it is always circus with us? I don't see problems in Liverpool, Spurs, Barca, Bayern. This season is becoming disaster

What has Pogba said that is that bad and isn't what we all think? We do need to attack more at Old Trafford

Sometimes feels like Jose gets a lot of support firstly due to how incapable Ed Woodward is, but also the players seem to get the flack the majority of the time too. Excuses constantly for a manager that is doing a very bang average job.

I hope that that is true.

At Manchester United, only the manager makes decisions, and players shouldn't publicly criticize his decisions or tell the world how the team should play.

One is gone at the end of the season for certain. Their relationship seems untenable.
Maybe both will be gone come June.

Exactly, this isn't a Fergie/Rooney situation, Mourinho has a laundry list of toxic, unprofessional behaviour himself.

Absolutely. And rightly so at the time, Pogba should be very aware that no one is bigger than the club.

Except Jose himself. All about him when he wins, everyone else’s fault when we don’t.

Wonder if Chelsea wish they could’ve went back and sided with Jose over Hazard and co?

LVG was much better than Mourinho. Should have got rid of Mourinho long time ago. Sevilla should have been the final straw.

Captains don't undermine managers. Imagine if Roy Keane had done anything similar.

Because the biggest club in England isn't performing as well as expected, and Pogba clearly wants to be at a club that's on top. Mix that in with Raiola shit stirring and Mourinho being a twat then you've got media heaven.

I like the Real Madrid way, most senior player takes the armband

#1 Valencia, #2 Smalling, #3 de Gea

Maybe when Pogba achieves what Keane did here, he may have certain privileges

Pogba has been speaking non stop for 2 months, 80% mysteries and negativity. Everybody is fed up with him , he could just stayed quiet and leave in the summer in good terms , but thats not Minos way.

As a club legend, openly criticising youngsters coming through the reserve team, who are going to make mistakes and learn from them, is a disgrace. You can be unhappy with many things but taking it out on kids who are still developing isn't excusable. He was rightly shown the door afterwards, I'd like to see how you'd respond if you were 19 and someone highly respected at your place of work told the world you were shit at your job and you shouldn't be there. Lets see how well you'd respond.

I think that's what we're doing. Or was doing before the whole Pogba debacle. Problem is Valencia hasn't shown anything to prove that he's a good captain, can he even speak English?!

Now that I can accept. However, i feel that he is the most natural choice to be captain because he's our most influential player since zlatan left, valencia is almost done, and none of our cbs are leaders. I dont believe the mantle was handed to him out of 'good will' or whatever tha tmeans.
