Genuinely surprised by Bayern's approach play, they reminded me of Chelsea in the Di Matteo era. Thought they'd try and attack Liverpool and would get spanked but in fairness they completely nullified them, sat deep and worked extremely hard.
Still think Liverpool will go through because Bayern will surely approach the game differently at home, and you could see Liverpool were only dangerous when breaking.

Why does Klopp keep playing Keita in big games? Not that hes playing bad, but it seems like his presence just jinxes Liverpools chances as their record with him is terrible now surely. Just play Hames Milner and the 3 amigos.

I thought Bayern coped well with Liverpools pace. Javi Martinez in particular was imperious tonight. Him and Hummels were very solid.
Hope for better from James Rodriguez back at the Allianz though. He was disappointing tonight.
Bit more influence from their key creative players and i think they have a very good chance of going through in the 2nd leg.

He was in the wars 2nd half . The whole defensive unit did well overall with special mention for martinez and hummels .

I'm convinced that James/Martinez/Thiago is the most solid midfield we can field this season. They made it possible for Hummels and Süle not to be overwhelmed.

Why they will be favourites? They actually were really luck not suffering any goal, today we saw one of the biggest differences between pool and city, city if had those opportunities they would score for sure.
He thinks they have the best team in the world and Messi benefits from said team.
There's not much else to say.
They have an average manager for a top club(very Mourinho esque). They're heavily reliant on Messi in attack and Ter Stegen in defense.

Bayern doesn't look to be a counter attacking side so they'll be more dangerous as they control more of the ball at home.
They'll just smother you further up the pitch unless you find 2017 form to push them back. Which you won't if we're being honest.
