PL D FA Premier League

Manchester United 0:0 Liverpool

Post-match discussion

Sun, 24 February 2019

Just never got going. Two many poor final balls and not much space to counter attack so Liverpool easily nulified. Man. United tried and would've scored if they'd timed their runs better at the free kicks Young was swirling in.

Atmosphere sounded very good so think that usually makes a dull game seem more interesting when the crowd are on it.
Hah. Third free kick I said we will score this time and be offside again. What do you know!

Feck ‘em.

We had more subs in the first half than WWII and Martial and Matic out before the first ball was kicked in anger.
They dropped 2 points.

Worse, they didn’t even know what to do to pick ‘em up. City’s title to lose now.

I just hope the tsunami of injuries doesn’t do for us fighting for 4th.

I have never felt so proud despite not winning the game. Every single one of them fought like warriors. I have no doubt that with better quality and squad depth Ole will bring back glory to United.

And yes Souness is a bitter cnut.

Ole on MUTV saying they just set out to kick Rashford.
Liverpool were shite TBH.

Long ball, bereft of creativity, set out to nullify Rashford by kicking him early on.

Basically against an injury ravaged side with 10 men, this is your title hopeful?

My arse

And I agree with this too.

Medical team must be questioned!
Ole did very well setting up the team defensively and handled the injuries. We were so unlucky and now game over and all I'm thinking how we will be few games without Herrera Matic in midfield?

Good game and good result

A lot of people saying Young was bad, but he won defensive challenges, and if he was actually so bad as made out then surely Firmino and Mane would have dribbled by him and got a shot on target and they never

Superb effort by the team. Stupid Lingard sub. Need to think about our fitness training.

Might be that but I would say Woodward should have bought a good player in January and before, because our subs are not up to standard hence oly is having to over play the first team.
Woodward needs to be sacked, hes useless, and the owners are too interested in their fat pockets

Ridiculous the situation mourinho left us in. Even a small and understandable hiccup and we drop out of the top 4.
Proud of the lads for giving it their all... They are fighting tooth and nail for Ole.
On the downside... Sanchez should be nowhere near that side. Created nothing

I think it's just a freak thing. Lingard was always a gamble, we could all see that one potentially happening but I guess they had tested his fitness and thought he would probably be alright. Other than that it's just unfortunate coincidence. Our injury situation recently hasn't been too bad, before today.

All things considered that’s a decent result. Took two points off them kept our unbeaten domestic run going too.

Obviously we were dealt a bum hand with Martial, Lingard, Matic being injured but that’s football but then 4 injuries in one half? Mental. Rashford was kicked off the park but fought through it for the team. McTominay has came in and done well and Shaw and Lindelof have been brilliant. We limited them to not even a half chance all game whilst we had 2-3 very close chances.

Happy with the fight shown by the lads when injuries decimated our game plan.
Thought Sanchez did well when he came on.
For a team chasing the title Liverpool were awful. Can’t see them winning the league now.

I guess 1 point is OK given circumstances but I'm pissed about the Lingard and Smalling chances.

A lot of promise surrounding this club at the moment. We had no right to even be in a game like that with those injuries, let alone being the better team in the second half.

Good three points considering the clusterfeck of a first half.

Only complaint is Sanchez should have come on instead of Lingard, thought that was poor management by Ole.

Great team effort today. Really proud of how well we did all things considered. Injuries cost us again, Liverpool didn’t even have a shot on target, that’s how good they were.

For me today was one of the greatest United performances since Ferguson. We were completely outgunned against the league leader and were in truth the better side who created the only real chances of the game.

Worried about upcoming fixtures with so many players being out, but the performance today was immense.

Said previously that if the management team were willing to risk a semi injured Lingard over a fully fit Sanchez, what does that tel you about Sanchez? All you need to know.

The fact a 20% fit Lingard and Pereira were preferred over fully fit Sanchez and Fred really says everything we need to know about the latter two's futures here.

ie. They don't have one.

Sanchez did nothing. Would rather have one of the academy kids on the bench to throw on
I've had it with Sanchez... At his wages and fanfare, he seems to get a bye while everyone climbs on lukakus' back (they both deserve stick) but at least Kaku did something today

Every United player who completed the 90 minutes deserves top marks, 11 out of 10! They worked their socks off, Luke Shaw was heroic! And top marks to Ole, who, after his game plan was torn to shreds inside 25 minutes and having to play the entire second half with virtually only 10 men and no more subs to use, adapted his plans, rallied the team in a backs to the wall, thin red line fashion, still encourage them to attack when they could to win an unlikely point! Give this man the job.....NOW!

Deserved MOTM to Shaw. Tied up Salah all match and forced a sub.

I'm surprised one of the assistants didn't talk OGS out of putting Lingard in so early. Phelan or Carrick should have pointed out the possibility of this being a disaster, not just for today for the the big picture. Lingard might be out for another month now.

Lukaku was good defensively, but terrible on offense. He has become on of those players that surprises me when he makes a good play.

Two big matches in two weeks and two injuries early on. Such bad luck.
