Champions League Round of 16 (12th Feb - 13th Mar)

Surely we've had the 3 minutes now.

The ref doesn't want to end it because he knows he's fecked up

I didn't think it was a pen either, but credit to Rashford. The bottle to absolutely nail that penalty

Oh absolutely, credit to Rashford & credit to United for showing incredible spirit tonight, but if you're a PSG fan you're going to be feeling absolutely robbed, and IMO justifiably.

VAR needs a hell of a lot of work because what exactly is Kimpembe meant to do with his arm? It's been blasted at him from close range and he's turned his back, the arm is by his side ffs!

United were not good (due to circumstances), looked like they didn’t even realise they had to score another one in the second half, but PSG absolutely deserve this, and have only themselves to blame.

United have no chance in the next stage, sorry guys but you have no quality enough, but its so good to see how PSG suffer another humiliation:lol:

How the actual feck did that just happen...

PSG are the biggest bottlers in world football

They were extremely comfortable in the second half to be fair and looked calm, then the referee has gone and given United a goal.

Paris fans have to feel robbed. That's one crazy game. PSG should've decided in the first half and in the end loses it through such a decision.

If Man Utd lose any more players to injury, we’re screwed on Sunday.

Why is this not a handball? Arm is away from his body increasing the area to block the shot. There is no reason for him to jump and turn his back.

His arm is by his side, he's not looking at the ball or trying to block it. It's been hammered at him from close range, there's no intention whatsoever there.

So many stupid penalties are going to be given if that is one.

It's *not* because this is a thread with a lot of other clubs fans.

Of course it is, ref saw it, I saw it. And we're both right.

I’m not sure. Plenty of teams we could beat IMO. The team we had out there today was miles from our best.

Not many people here care but Porto-Roma is in extra time.

Porto should have scored the third by now

Player who should not have been on the pitch to score last game gives away pen.

Thanks, Sir Matt.

A one goal lead is never secure especially against a Man. United team flowing full of confidence.

If PSG had got it to 2-2 then they could've relaxed. Really should've put Cavani on for the last 15 minutes.

I thought it was more of a pen than Otamendi's last week, it's the turning of the back I don't like. Remember Clattenburg giving one against us against Spurs a few seasons ago that was worse than that

I think only Porto/Roma would United like their chances. Against anyone else they’ll get rocked. Their defense is appalling and they don’t generate enough chances.

But good for United to advance

I wanted United to go through tonight and dislike PSG as a club far more, overall I'm glad United qualified.

I still don't think it's a penalty, not at all. I don't see how anybody who has played football could think otherwise, there is nothing you can do when a ball is hammered at you from a range like that, his arms don't go to block the ball and he's not even looking at it, there is zero intent there.

It's the kind of penalty call that gets laughed off every week when players make a soft appeal for it.

we played B team here, with all the players back after the break watch this space

We could most definitely beat Tottenham and Ajax. We would have a chance against Liverpool/Bayern.

We can be much better than what we showed against PSG.

Yeah right, let's all turn our backs on the ball shall we? You're talking like he was 2 yards away.

Kimpembe should have faced the ball. He was far enough away where he could react to it.

Clear pen which i'm glad the ref had the balls to give for once.

PSG awful, gutless. Big players didn't show up. Amazing job by OGS given all the injuries. Utd could go all the way.

He should be looking at the ball though and avoid hitting it with his extended arm. It doesn’t have to be intentional to be a penalty.

Besides that player should have been off in the first half of OT game and he scored their first goal instead. Karma.

He's jumping to block the ball, and extending his arm on the side, it's not arm to body, he's actually extending it, and preventing the ball possibly going on target.

Oh this damn Scotty message, completely ruining RedCafe experience.:mad::mad:

Today was a great victory for United and reminds me the team's from sir Alex when all the players would give everything to win a game. Anybody that says the penalty wasn't a penalty can go F yourselves and look for another forum.

It's in line with how VAR calls handballs. I think it's even one of the easier ones, compared to some of the stuff that I've seen.

There seems to be too handballs called with VAR. Rule clarifications are necessary for sure, but for now player need to be careful and adjust.

I've watched it over and over and I honestly don't think anyone could ever convince me it's a penalty. I'd be saying the exact same if it was one for Spurs, for me his arm is in a totally natural position and there is no genuine intent to stop the ball. The rules need a serious rework in my view.

Going to go ahead and say this place would be absolutely fuming if the situation was reversed.
