Champions League Semi Finals (30th April - 8th May)

The World Football was robbed of a cracking Pep's Man City vs 2019 Ajax semifinal. I mean, I don't even care that much about the Spurs to watch them being bullied in the UCL.

Robbed? By VAR being used correctly?

So many Southampton connections in thess 2 semi finals

There’s a lot of players that were at “lower” PL clubs that are now excelling in the CL.

Wijnaldum, Tadic and Van Dijk to name a few. There’s a lot of fans on here at times that turn their nose up of suggestions of players from Wolves/Everton/Watford etc, but Liverpool and Ajax have shown that you can absolutely create a quality team with these types of players.

You forgot mane .

We are admittedly in an excruciatingly bad place currently but do you not think that the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Bayern Munich, PSG and Manchester City are not all looking at the money that built the two likely squads that will reach the final with incredulity too?

Yes but they’re all so much closer than we are. There isn’t one right way. But right now we don’t even have a way, that’s the problem.

I raise you Valencia.
Valencia has nearly been here for 10 years and has been one of the best and most consistent performers dor the club. One bad injury/age affected season does not make him any less of a longstanding player who now deserves to leave the club in dignity in the ole, park ji sung, fletcher tier probably even higher considering he dragged the team at times under ferguson and has been a steady choice as a reliable and consistent right backs, one of the best in the league and recognized by opposition managers, all despite a horrific ankle injury that disrupted his development just as he was coming to his peak and even then, he was our most hardworking and lightningly fast players to an advanced age, at his peak being the fastest player in the world post injury.

Sorry if wrong thread

The problem is using the CL as a barometer of pure quality. I don't think Juventus are looking at Ajax thinking there is some gap that needs to be crossed. Just do better next year.

It's different with us because unlike those sides you mentioned (barring Madrid), we are far off a legit challenge for the league.

my initial prediction for a Liverpool Ajax final would be 4-1 or 5-1 win to Liverpool.
