In the latest episode of the United Hour Podcast, Nik (@Rood) is joined by CEO Duncan Drasdo and Financial Director Andy Green from the Manchester United Supporters Trust for a special episode on all things behind the scenes at Old Trafford including a brief history of MUST and their aims today, views on INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe so far, and the Old Trafford regeneration.
Basically everything about Thrones outside the writing at the end was almost perfect. The score, the sets and the costumes especially were all outstanding. The set pieces were spectacular too, even if illogical in the context of the show. It's one of the best produced pieces of media I've ever seen, comparing it to something Michael Bay did is way off the mark.
It wasn't a comparison to Michael Bay's stuff. The statement was 'production value alone does not make a good product'.
I strongly disagree. Acting and editing were very shaky at times. And as another user pointed out, I never made a comparision in quality.
I don't think there will be another show that rivals GoT in the costume department at least. The dresses, armours etc are incredible.

I don't like how they did certain things but considering the huge work it took to make 8 seasons of this behemoth, I cannot criticize nor hate that.
Yep, highly admire the research, skill and work that must have gone into achieving this kind of scale which for me personally overshadows the poor dialogue etc. We kinda had the best of both worlds across the entire list of seasons. First half had excellent acting and dialogue, second half had exemplary visuals and cinematography. I'm pretty satisfied with the whole series in the end.

Last season was dreadful to that timeline in the series.
When you consider previous seasons and the relevance they have towards the finale, it represents the title as a whole, so in my opinion the entire show collectively has been disappointing. Same as prison break, fantastic infancy but longer it goes on more the writers are clutching at straws.

People aren't having a go at the ones making the show at all. We unanimously agree that it was such a huge effort and very well made.

Lets face it, no amount of talk from the writers is going to justify the terrible story in S8. Effects were good though.

I stopped caring about the 'story' since about season 5 when we had random masked men popping out of nowhere and what not. It's been crap since. Watched this season mainly for the production value and the scale at which some of the battle sequences were shot, which wasn't half bad.
Funny to see the nerds outrage over their favourite characters being killed in a TV show and still not having moved on. Been mighty entertaining.
HBO’s Rome (which was kind of GoT before GoT) was fantastic with this too.
Little tip if you are going to attempt to be a wum, you really need to zero in on the actual issues and ever so slightly twist them to get a reaction.
You aren't supposed to miss the mark, then blatantly advertise that fact. It really doesn't work, it comes straight from D&D's "book of tips on reading your audience and playing them...for dummies".

It’s very sad tbh and anyway the last people that deserve stick for that final season are the actors .. they’ve worked tirelessly over the years and don’t get a say in script etc. Hope he gets well soon.
Considering most of the actors have said the show basically consumed the last decade of their life (and a lot of the kids missed huge amounts of their teenage years as a result), I'm not sure what the feck is funny about the above.

Mental health is incredibly overlooked in general, not nearly enough is done about it.
I get why @George Owen thought it's funny. The season so bad it's sending people into rehab. I doubt he read the full article. Cut the guy some slack.
