France ... Jesus, it's like watching united
Demiral was imperious today. Looks like real talent.
France were crap but credit to Turkey who played brilliantly! Becoming quite a solid team these days.
Never seen the hype in him. All pace, so overrated IMO.Varane still shite?
They improved a lot under Senol Gunes. And fecking Sousa Cintra sold Demiral for peanuts to a midtable club in Turkey, sold again for Sassuolo and there’s rumours about Juve being interested on him. Having stayed with us he would be the ideal solution to replace Mathieu or Coates.France aren't all that but Turkey are actually impressive, this generation is very good.
Linked with a move to Juve by Di Marzio a few days ago if i remember correctly
Did you watch the match?
yeah watched second half a bit, first half Italy.
What's your impression of Demiral?
Watched Sassuolo once this season, but didnt remember him. From what i have seen, i think he looks a good CB. The question is how consistent is he though.
Serie A has definitely some talented young CBs around worth looking into.
Would have been interested in seeing Rashford lead the line, can't be bothered to watch it now.
They should just give Kane a break ffs, he's clearly not fit. Rash might be injured too actually now that I think of it.
I'd have gone with Sancho over Dele, Henderson over Dier and Winks over Delph.
Winks is not on the bench too. Good start for England though.Henderson not fully fit.
Henderson not fully fit.
I'd really like to see us (England) go with a 4231 system.
Following the game against Netherlands, It was said the other day that we lack someone like De Jong in our team, who had the ability to control the game, which I agree with.
The panel said that having a Foden or Maddison would improve our build up play and passing out from the back, but to me, that is totally false. The aforementioned players play higher up than the likes of De Jong and wouldn't aid in helping our build up play.
That needs to come from one of our deeper midfielders. So the other day, we'd have been relying on either Delph or Rice to take on the role of deep-lying playmaker and niether one of them are that type of player.
Actually, I find myself scratching my head when thinking about who could actually fulfil this role for England, both long and short term.
Previously, we had Scholes and Carrick - the latter not being recognised anywhere near as much he should have been, in my opinion. The former often being played out of position to accomadate others.
Roll on a number of years, and we have a number of ball winnners/box to box players but no one who can orchestrate a game for us.
Closest I can think of, and half of these players don't even play for their club sides are:
Danny Drinkwater
Jonjo Shelvey
Lewis Cook
Nathaniel Chalobah
Sean Longstaff
Then you've got players who currently play higher up the pitch, who may have the atrributes to be dropped slightly deeper, such as Scholes and Carrick
Phil Foden
Mason Mount
Ross Barkley
Looking at that list shows just how much we're struggling in that department, and where we need to improve.
That said, we could always go the 'Liverpool' way and use energy in midfield, relying on the creativity to come from our full backs and front three.
Better than Dier and Delph thoughAnd fecking shite
Harry Winks seems to be the hope. I do actually think Foden will be DLP, pretty sure everyone at Man. City is saying he has similar qualities to David Silva who is certainly the sort of tempo player England lack.
Bigger problem is the end to end nature of English football dosen't really give time for these players to develop and breath so they either get bracketed as box to box attacking midfielders or purely defensive.
He'd fit right in this England side then...I like Winks.
Foden looks bang average to me.
He'd fit right in this England side then...
How does Dier still start.
