Guys there is always the olympics. They just raised a good point. Team GB. A mix of the talented youngsters Scotland have with this England team and a Lauren James who will probably be even better than she is now given I still don’t think I’ve seen a better player than her at this tournament.

I don’t think that’s true. If anything we are nauseatingly in love with the US. The US dont really compete in any of the popular sports in the UK.
Devastated. Thought we really had it with the pen! That is the heartache of VAR, offside is now completely binary and rules out those tight ones. Really proud of the ladies, played some superb football at times, just needed to take it to that next level.

Sorry, mate. But certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Gave ‘em the match of the tourney and this was the final in my estimation - no offense to the Dutch or Swedes - but you’re gonna get battered.
We always have this common misconception brought up to argue for or against whether the foul should have been given. Ignore your anecdotal evidence and whether it was enough for the player to go down or not and ask yourself one simple question: Was the challenge/contact enough to prevent the striker doing what they were about to do? It’s clear as day that contact, however minimal, prevented the striker from properly striking the ball. It’s a penalty.
Even though England got the penalty I still don't like VAR in football. Everytime a goal is scored in this tournament I feel like I have to wait to see replays to see if it's clean which just doesn't work for football for me . I know everyone has been complaining about decisions forever but more & more people will miss the idea of celebrating a last minute winner & stuff which is kind of the best memories for most people

It’s the belief that kills you. I think for those of us that have followed the game for so long and taken so much crap from blokes that dismiss the game, this was ‘our’ tournament, our vindication. I shed tears, not too proud to admit that.
As I said, best of luck to the USA, but I’m gutted.
