Our South west region is the least effected by overall numbers yet I went round 5 supermarkets today and picked up a single banana and 5 onions, no milk or bread or eggs... We be fecked pex

Sorry I worded it wrongly. I knew those conditions are obviously considered. But do they consider someone with health problems that wouldn't really be linked with cardiorespiratory system. I guess we won't know for sure.

So, I've read through the business loan thing now the details are out on a few websites.

Its 80% unsecured backed by government, 20% secured loan from a commercial bank.

That means for most small businesses, to qualify, owners will have to put their homes up as collateral I would imagine.

With no end in sight, and no idea if your business could every recover, I can't see many taking that risk. Larger companies will be OK in general, they'll likely have the assets available to satisfy the terms.

Well Vallance and the other one did a science focused briefing to the press earlier and they gave no such message.

I think Boris was aiming for optimism or at least giving people an end date to their sacrifices, which is a good message. Thankfully most will just see that press headline rather than the performance.

Genuine question but have you guys actually been outside or even spoken to close friends or family?

I mean I know people in this thread have a crave for the dramatics but the internet will always show you what you want to see. The internet can also be very selective.

Now I don’t know about other cities or towns but I live in Luton and work and have family friends in London. From what I’ve seen with my own eyes and what my friends and family have seen is that actually the nation have taken the advise to stay indoors.

Shops are empty, bars and pubs are empty, plenty have closed too.
My job means i can’t work from home and actually requires me to be out and about in one of the busiest boroughs in London and trust me when I tell you the vast amount of people are not out. The implication that people aren’t listening is far fetched. Obviously a few will slip through the crack, that’s how it is. It’s quite difficult for some people to be told to stay indoors(some people genuinely suffer from the thought) and hide away, not everyone is as strong as you guys.

Suggesting that these people are ‘killers’ (you guys haven’t said that but I’ve seen that comment thrown around this thread) is ludicrous but epitomises what this thread has turned into. Blame culture, who can we blame ? Who’s fault is it? Who can we castigate?

Gyms have seen a massive drop in attendees as most have now cancelled all classes. I’ve literally now just checked my gym app and there are 76 people in my gym now. Normally at this time the figure is around 300.
I have a mate who was laid off his job in a restaurant earlier today because they had nobody coming in and were forced to close.

People are being treated like adults and that’s how it should be.
There isn’t a need at the moment for the government to go down the enforcement root.

Coffee and alcohol also cause an increase in blood pressure. Then you add in old age as well. I have an uncle who never smoked, drank alcohol or drinks coffee and he is on blood pressure pills. He worked all his life and did not exercise at all. He is just old, that is his crime.

Salt and eating bad foods also causes it.

Over half adults over the age of 45 in Ireland have high blood pressure.

I must ask my father what his is next time i see him. He likes a bottle of wine each weekend.

That's good to hear. I still don't trust official Chinese official figures though.

I'll say it again, I've spent time in China and HK and I have respect for their culture and people, but I'm highly cynical of anything their government has to say.

Everyone is saying so. The entire virus started from a person, so as long as someone remains infected, the cycle will repeat. The hope is that we will be more prepared the next time and we will have anti-virals in place (until a vaccine comes). I don't expect life to go back to normality until 2022. The social distancing (and on/off partial lockdowns) are here to stay until then.

It's hereditary as well
 
High blood pressure is difficult to avoid, especially after you hit your late thirties. Alcohol, smoking, coffee, processed meat, salt, stress, medication for other illnesses.

Interestingly i have a relative that does not smoke, drink coffee, drink alcohol, eat meat, salt, chips, cheese, butter and so on. Just eats soup and fish all the time. Personally i dont think it is worth it.
