Nuetral grounds might be an idea outside of the PL, as I'm guessing once you get a certain way down it will actually save clubs money through not having to make half of them getting their failities up and running for the day...and the number of games/different venues does become a problem once you factor in all of the legue system.
For PL teams I just can't make any sense of it. You can't be sending people back to work, telling them to gather in parks, etc...then say you're worried about them specifically lingering outside a football ground. You also can't seriously claim the police can't keep an eye on 10 locations for a couple of hours each over the course of a weekend, when they've apparently had time to patrol around empty forest areas and send drones up looking for people in the fecking hills. Espeically not as the police funding for games largely comes from the clubs themselves, not the government. You'd just make it clear people shouldn't be there and then clear off anyone who turns up. It's not like you're going to get 40,000 fans marching up to the stadium.
I also don't get all the whining about player safety. If there is an adequate testing system in place there is virtually no risk. Anyone who does catch the virus wont have caught iit because they played against Arsenal at the weekend. Plus, some of us have had to go to work the whole time. Most of us have to cram into supermarkets every week. A lot of us are being "encouraged" to go back to work, right now, not in a month. It's not really a good look to hear about millionaire footballers being victimised because they might have to play a football game. I'm sur emost of them are actually quite desperate to play.

Hopefully it gets finished if safe and neutral venues is about as fair as it can get it the surrent climate. I say take it and run with it assuming players don't start getting infected.
You couldn't have imagined a government would make up the new rules. Football BCD; public, we can travel to exercise... scousers; what is exercise.. it's jumping and cheering our team.. lets go exercise at the neutral ground to YAWN

Probably but they've made them cheaper, plus by letting the area become derelict it only encourages more and more of the residents to want to take their low ball offers and move out.

everyone associated with Liverpool really are tone deaf about the situation. Such as insular, inward looking club who have seemingly no concept of the bigger picture. They really are a horrible football club.

Given the last 24 hours and lack of clear guidance; would the government not let them "exercise".
Is there a level of concentration that undermines that? If they use less staff will they be exposed to greater levels of infection.

The main arguement has been you and your lot claiming liverpool will be given the league regardless.
We have been arguing that cant be done without relegation and thats whats been decided.
The bottom 3 not wanting to play unless it at own stadiums doesn’t make a lot of sense. If season can’t resume, they will be relegated via PPG anyway.

You knew which way this thread was heading right from the first page when one of the regulars on here stated that so long as none of his family were affected he'd happily accept a few deaths if it meant the season could be cancelled. & apparently we were/are the selfish ones for wanting the season to be completed.

My Pogba comment was in relation to another poster bringing up the possible scenario of him contracting the virus by playing football & suffering damage to his lungs. The chances of that happening are off the scale of possibility given the fact he's young, fit, & healthy, & will also be protected by numerous amounts of testing, on not just him, but all those who'd be involved in the game, on, & off, the pitch. The thing is, worrying about things that are outside of your control is pointless. I often think about my grandparents from my mother's side. Both of them were born in 1908, lived through the first world war & the Spanish flu pandemic. Then through the great depression of the 1920's. After that it was the 2nd world war. They lost a lot of friends, neighbours etc when the street opposite was decimated by German bombs. Then in the post-war era it took a long time for the country to recover & get back to some sort of normality. Money, food, jobs, housing, all the things we take for granted now were in very short supply for most people back then. We are the lucky ones here but we quite often don't appreciate what we've got. It's all about perspective & how you handle adversity. This is a challenge for everyone, & like the saying goes : 'We're all in this together'. We need to be 'strong' as well as safe.
They just need to scrap the season. This seemingly isn’t going away easily and it will arguably encourage gatherings as others have mentioned. Not to mention, what happens if squads start testing positive to Covid and end up losing players?

Finishing the season now and deciding it via ppg is the most sensible thing to do. From a pure Football prospective it’s hard to maybe swallow because we will finish 5th and yet again miss out on Champions League and possible transfer targets. It’s also hard because we still had so much to play for but health must come first.
So if it's not an official statement from LFC why are you slagging off the club ?
