Sir Keir calling for an inquiry
Hopefully he grow a pair in the 3-4 years that'll take to publish its findings.

Ha, that too. Believe me, I do not intend for my assessment to be taken as some sort of sympathetic reading of Johnson. It's the fact he's in the firing line for someone else's actions, and he resents it. That's how I viewed it anyway. He comes from a position and background where he cannot fathom why he should be accountable to the common person for his own actions, so being in this position for someone else must be particularly grating.
Peston looked and spoke like he was hungover from a massive Saturday night bender involving liquors and powders! The press were woefully unprepared for this briefing. Fairly crap questions, not concise enough.
Peston is a fecking shambles.
Kier Starmer should seriously retire his status as ‘Sir’. It’s absurd for a serving Labour leader to insist on being called ‘Sir’! Just sounds so wrong.Sir Keir calling for an inquiry

This is not over, Cummings will go and Johnson must go too. Time to bring an end to that shithouse party for good.
Cummings is the sole reason for a BrExit led Tory Government. Without Cummings the whole thing would never have happened and the entire movement falls apart without him.Yeah, I think that’s a fair take. Thing is, Cummings doesn’t have a leg to stand on. And the fact Johnson has backed him so brazenly just goes to show how in his thrall the upper echelons of the party are.

It's almost as easy to return a knighthood as it is to not bow in front of jug ears for it in the first place. He asks not to be called Sir so dobba thinks it’s a slight on him to be referred to as such.
Got it! It’s a very effective slight!!He asks not to be called Sir so dobba thinks it’s a slight on him to be referred to as such.
Watching this press conference and I can’t believe what Boris is saying. It’s surreal. You actually voted this man PM?!?!
Official Civil Service account:

It's simultaneously the highest honour in the country and a slight. What a world. It’s the highest honour a person can receive in this country so there’s no reason for him to return it. It’s recognition for his service to the public. Your republican fantasies are a minority position in this country so trying to slight him by calling him Sir is pretty useless.

A UK Government spokesman said: "An unauthorised tweet was posted on a Government channel this evening.
"The post has been removed and we are investigating the matter."
Well, all I can think is that Cummings has so much dirt on the Government that if he's sacked, or pushed out, or forced to resign, he'll spill goodness knows what, which will destroy reputations.
He's already shown himself to be totally unscrupulous and not to give a flying feck, he'd probably enjoy it and look forward to huge sales of his sordid memoirs.
They managed to shut JRM up, because they thought, quite rightly, that he was damaging the image of the party, but they are incapable of controlling this absolute fecking cnut of a man. (I think that's the technical term.)
He's only an advisor on paper, in the real world he is the Evil Emperor and Boris is Darth Vader (a fat small donkey looking motherfecker version)The true relationship needs to be unearthed. I cannot believe a PM would sacrifice his availability for a mere advisor.
A fringe minority that includes both me and the bloke who doesn't like being called it, but not enough to turn it down or return it.A slight in the eyes of a fringe minority to which you belong. The Express and Mail might deride him as a champagne socialist but they preach to a choir. I think the majority in the UK believe in aspiration so Kier shouldn’t shy away from the fact he came from a humble background to reach the top of society through hard work. It’s a narrative that will resonate with the majority, in my opinion.

Whereas bowing in front of a man, deemed your superior at birth because of how magical his parents' genitals are, to accept it...He doesn’t like being referred to as Sir because it comes across as too deferential. Plenty of people accept the honour but don’t use the title. I don’t see a conflict in accepting the honour but not wanting to use the title in everyday life, none at all.
