It gets a bit complicated but the short version is that - if this theory is true - it changes the type of drug that might help treat very sick patients. Specifically, the drugs that are being developed try to stop the overactive immune response which kills a lot of people Makes no difference to the drugs being developed to kill the virus.
I can't speak for the other Nordic countries but Sweden not only has care homes but kind of designated elderly areas in amongst regular society and communities. So say a block of apartments with solely elderly people/couples living independently, strategically placed close to local amenities (shop, cafe, pharmacy, walking area etc) which could and likely is a contributing factor in the difficulty of protecting them. In fact, policies in place to protect them from isolation in regular society could have been the double edged sword that led to it being difficult to isolate them during a pandemic.
Mixed bag in the US today...overall cases are on the decline, but if you remove the epicenter of NY/NJ they are about level. Some states that opened back up early are spiking, but not all. If you use May 1st as on average the time ‘lockdown’ eased and 2 weeks after that as ‘phase 2’ of reopening (as was the case in cities like mine) where activity really started back up, I think you need to see 2-4 weeks more of data to get a better picture of where we’re at.

Yet Government advice today still says non-essential travel, they also said last week no Picnics, and it's highly debatable he even kept his 2m social distance.

I know we can meet in groups of four but the government advice not to have picnics etc, Leo clearly is having a picnic and this is not essential travel.

You previously pointed out how "coincidental" it was that there was a marked decrease in the Irish numbers just as the government were looking to move out of phase 1, somehow missing the fact that the decrease was perfectly in line with trends that had been established for weeks and weeks at that point.
If I had previously implied that there was something suspicious about the numbers in as demonstrably stupid a way as that, I think I would have been a lot slower to make the same demonstrably stupid point again. Kudos to you for not letting being wrong stop you from repeating yourself.

The zero deaths probably will go up over the next few days, mind you. Holohan said Monday’s numbers often low due to delay collating weekend deaths. You’re dead right that you could see this coming. The median age of the cases reported in May has been decades younger than March/April. So that was bound to have a big effect on mortality. Although, more young sick people might cause ITUs to stop emptying out. Hopefully not.
I’m really curious to see what happens with cases next week. Phase 1 loosening of restrictions won’t affect the stats until next Monday, at the earliest.
