Premier League Gameweek 30+31

Good insight. I think they are the most consistent starting 11 in the Prem, could be wrong. Could definitely see them drop points and fitness to their main guys being a big issue.
Probably Sheffield, they seem to play pretty much the same team every week.

Edit: Pretty similar actually. Sheffield have 9 players with 2000+ mins and Wolves have 10.

Does anybody else on earth call Brooks "Davey" or has Jenas just invented this to annoy me?

How did I miss this!

I was 2 years old the last time BBC showed a live top flight game! This will likely be the record viewing figures for a Premier League game - Bournemouth vs Palace!

Yeah I wasn't even alive the last time that happened, must be weird if it gets a record in what feels like (atmosphere wise) a friendly game.

Just checked the list, some decent games coming up on free tv including Pool vs Everton, and our next game vs Sheffield on Wednesday https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53091105

Great that the Sheffield United game is on Sky 1. Means I can watch it in HD as my Sky Sports on Virgin looks as though it was filmed through a potato.

I'm pretty sure they do that on purpose.

They definitely do. I got a years worth of sky sports on a deal but when I tried to pay the extra to upgrade it to HD, they said I couldn't do it unless I forfeited the deal and paid the full whack sports package as well as the HD upgrade.

That wasn't happening - particularly when I can just use the laptop and watch the games in HD on the Sky player.

Bournemouth have overachieved tremendously the last few years and their inevitable relegation is overdue. I still think Howe has a bright future as a manager though, can see him at a club like Everton or Leicester further down the line.

He went through the ball more than over, it was a 50/50 red some give it some don’t

If you go through, over or around the ball to the extent you make contact with a players ankle like that, you are not in control of the tackle and have wrecklessly endangered your opponents safety. It should be a red card all day every day.

Those are the sort of tackles that break ankles and evoke memories of injuries like Shaw or Irwin.

Because it’s live on BBC they probably think we’re still in the dark ages when tackles like that were the norm. 100% red in my opinion.

This second half feels like its been going on for about 3 weeks.

They may as well blow the final whistle now, there's nothing happening.

Bournemouth have been disappointing with how they have approached the game today. So boring. No pace in the attacks, too comfortable when stroking the ball around in midfield and nobody willing to take any risks or try something different. Absolutely deserve to lose this game. Playing like a team who think that they are technically too good to be relegated, which is a dangerous mindset. They've offered nothing.

Solanke is very strange, he technically competent but I always get the impression hell will freeze over before he scores.

It must be a mental thing.

It was certainly a mental thing to pay £20m for him.

He's been a terrible signing. Hasn't done anything even remotely close to justifying the price tag and should really be shipped off in the next year if he doesn't start finding the net soon. 9 career goals in 92 games...that's a 1 in 10 rate. Nowhere near good enough for the Premier League. Can't believe this signing was ever sanctioned.

Too easy for Palace. Bournemouth look like they're probably gone now. United, Spurs, City, Wolves and Leicester are 5 of their last 8 fixtures and we know how poor their record is against the 'big' sides.

There's nothing wrong with being a knock and run player if you're very good at it.

Traore though for me is lacking with his off the ball movement, his work rate and his overall decision making. He's definitely improved his end product this season (4 goals and 8 assists) but it's still nothing spectacular. At the moment he's playing in a counter-attacking system to get the best out of him too. You saw today that Nuno knew he was perfect to bring off the bench as an impact sub against tiring defenses.
He’s amazing at that aspect yes. But he’s also an outstanding close dribbler too very quick feet and strong so he can hold his own in close quarters.

It’s a bit of a pet peeve when people just label lazily players.

His off the ball is fine for what Wolves want and often they want him to get it ball to feet and run at people as it’s more disruptive often than a good run out wide. It pulls midfielders out of shape and often two players are needed to deal with him carrying the ball.

I’m not saying he’s a worldie but recent discussions I’ve had I’m amazed at how little some people actually know about him.

He’s not the same player he once was.

Too bad a certain poster just can't see it.

One other thing that concerns me about him is his mentality. I remember the game we had against Wolves and Nuno purposely switched the side he played on so he was always playing on the touchline near him so he could always be in his ear and constantly shout/encourage him to keep him on his game.

To be fair, his decision making does improve if we compare to previous seasons. But like what you mentioned, the improvement was nothing spectacular to the level where we can over-hype him especially to the level when a certain poster believed could make us into title challenger.

Watford vs Leicester
They should have told us before the only (amazing) goals of the match would come at the end then some of us could have slept longer :D.......anyway Watford's goal was very important for us because 10 points to Leicester would have been too much.

Brighton & Hove vs Arsenal
I hope there is no Arsenal & Leverkusen supporter out there

2 defeats + 3 serious injuries + 2 sent-offs (Guendouzi will be surely banned) in the first 2 games is a crazy start.

West Ham vs Wolverhampton
Wolves have a nice set of fixtures in the run-in a real dark horse for finishing 4th.
Their squad is relatively tiny, and with games coming every 3 or 4 days, could see them dropping points at one or two unexpected junctures before the end of the season.

I thought Wolverhampton could be in troube after the restart because they have had the first training session of the season on June 17 2019 (The other clubs have started 2-3 weeks later) and today was their 49th match of the season......so massive respect that they were so good in the 2nd half against West Ham today.

Pogba has been injured for the majority of the season, we coped just fine without him. Having him back is a massive boost though.
We really didn't at all. We were looking like we'd be lucky to finish in the top half before Bruno came in.
