Internationals September (Nations League + Friendlies)

This game nearly bore you to tears, Ireland still have the same problem no one to put it in the back of the net.

@GifLord please send the others the goal what Szoboszlai just scored now for Hungary against Turkey. Ronaldo esque freekick. Incredible.

Spain truly had a golden generation. These lot look like pretenders.

wow, Levitt actually starts for Wales?! That's awesome.

I wouldn't get excited about that. Pretty much every Wales starter not called Bale or Ramsey is a Championship level clogger.

Yeah Pau Torres doesn’t look ready for English football yet.

Placeholder post to remind myself to never ever back Ireland in an acca again. I had a vague hope that they had improved but sadly they are still absolutely woeful.

I see progress though. The style of play is different and for the first time in years we are losing a game that we shouldn't be. I agree though that fire power is going to be a big problem. However I'm happy for it being the first game, maybe Kenny can find the answer in the future. We shouldn't expect miracles right away. Finally feels like we have the right type of coach at least.

Have never been less convinced of Löw than currently to be honest. Expect nothing from the EC.

It’s nice to see us play football and put on attacking players.

YESSS!

Even back in the heady days of the 80s/90s/early 00s with Keane, McGrath, Houghton, Duff, Keane etc. we played utter shite stuff. Roy Keane goes off about it in his autobiography. Even now, grassroots football is all hoofball, physical-prowess-over-technical-ability rubbish.

Edit: Gwan Duffy

Obafemi mightn't have been a bad bet.

Hopefully one of this crop of young forwards develops into a clinical striker.
It’s all I wish for you know a top quality forward for Ireland been so long since we had a player to be really proud of.
