Are you for real, as all these threads that are being complained about, are not threads started by "newbies" but by you "older" posters, so you are as guilty as anyone in this issue.

It's also like when you start here and read the rules, one of them, no txt speech, look at how many "older" posters do that or simply reply with a child like emoji. It's like when you get full member staus on here, the rules go out the fecking window.

The majority would fall in the middle. For all the people that complain about PE teacher comments, there are just as many at the other end of the spectrum. This is just another thread to split the fanbase.
 
I think fans have a right to be unhappy after we got thumped 6-1 and had what was clearly a very poorly planned transfer window. Of course, there are some who will be optimistic, and some who will be pessimistic, but that's the nature of a fanbase of millions - not everyone will think the same way.

I must say, I am not too bothered about the opinions of others. If I don't like a thread, or the general tone/direction of a thread, I stay out. Or I'll state an opinion (it's usually always ignored :lol:) and I hear the counter arguments, and i move on. It feels like at times, some are unable to move on if someone doesn't agree with them.

But overall, I always enjoy it on here and my general posting direction (Football, General, CE, Entertainment etc.) is probably dictated by how well we're doing because I know what to expect from the FF after a bad result(s)!

Yeah united were in that position and honestly got lucky in the end. But at least he managed to turn us around and capitalize on something for the first time in 7 years hah.
 
I refuse to pretend that everything is fine at Manchester United and 'get behind the team' when they've put the kind of performance that they did against Spurs.

It's the "we go again" mentality by the players and fans that has allowed this great club, in part, to be reduced to the sinking ship it continues to be today.

The Glazers and the board are laughing in the faces of the United fanbase more than ever. They're the ones responsbile for causing such a toxic atmosphere around the club. No United fan should be made to change their views or be silenced just because some don't like the negativity. None of us do!

I simply refuse to act like everything is fine and dandy. If you're fed up of the atmosphere around here, just stop reading.
 
The match day thread is one of the most vile places on here. Calling every player a cnut, the manager a cnut non stop throughout the 90 minutes, I actually watch the game, so I am never involved during the 90 minutes. I always go in for a quick read afterwards and you would swear they were all 12 years old the way they get on. I refuse to believe that grown adults actually type them messages, but I fear I am wrong.
 
A good and healthy thread! I do agree it should be a place to vent. Especially after matches and some of the political aspects of the club. But honestly, I mostly stay away if we loose. I do miss reading some good healthy football debate, and miss some of the posters contributing to a wider perspective. Now I feel there is to much aggression, easy fixes and less substance in the debates.

I will take the criticism on board and try contribute being a Man Utd fan is being part of a community! I’m far to quick labelling posters, and that doesn’t help.
A community is the sum of their members, and the majority will define what culture they want.

I agree. But I think it’s ok. People express their feelings there and then. It’s not to different being in the stands. I don’t read it much. I rather watch the game. But it’s a good place for people who need it.
 
The Glazers are not good owners, Ed is not a good negotiator, Ole is not good tactically & Maguire is not a leader.

It’s justifiable criticism.

Everything surrounding the club right now breeds negativity. How do you expect the fans to remain positive?
 
I always believed football forums were for just that. I also find it interesting OP that you are suggesting we should lay off the owners and CEO. Why exactly? Dipward was the mastermind behind the vultures ladening our club with their debt. Is it a surprise our demise correlated with their take over? SAF managed to cover the cracks but they are poisonous to our club and it’s history. Please Kindly edit your thread and remove the owners and Dipward from it. We are in an absolute mess and we have to be toxic to remove certain people

Guess it’s just a mix of where united are and the current internet trend of picking sides with no intention of changing your mind, only reinforcing your stance.
 
Seems to me it's more of a reflection of society overall, particularly with how we interact online. I often feel like losing my phone so I can no longer read the vitriol I come across daily, but for some reason I can't stay away.

Speaking out with hate has slowly become normalised in society in recent years, and it's crept its way on here too, sadly.

But, I think most football teams probably have the same level of toxicity, it's just ours is amplified because of a larger fanbase.
 
Ooooh, I don't like fans criticising the manager or the players despite our once great club staring in the abyss after getting comprehensively thumped 3 Premier League games in a row. Give over. If you expect things to all be hunky dory after that, then maybe it's not the forum for you.
 
I agree. I mean i am pretty negative regarding us and specifically Ole, but the last week has been an absolute disaster. I have a feeling people spend too much time on Twitter and bring over the nonsense. Absolute memes some of them.

Don't feel there is that much hate here at all unlike other places. More love and frustration with how things are going.
We have just lost 6-1 and I am sure most people are still angry over that. I guess people struggle when their worldview gets questioned and might take those opinions as hate.
I guess the few with hate and extreme negativity step up in these times too.

Was this irony? Or a contribution to less toxic tones of debate? My stand: 9 weeks is a long time in football, if the world can go from white to black in such short time.
 
I used the ignore button for the first time ever on here this week, mainly for all the drivel threads written by basically the same group of posters who start all the moaning threads and don't have the first clue about football or running a football club.

So now when I connect to Redcafe the United forum usually starts with "Ignored thread".

If Redcafe continues to get worse and it's now worse than it has ever been during my time on here , I'll just leave although there are a lot of decent posters and I like to get news of the club from here.
Shame the place is being poisoned.

Always different opinions. I never really complained about centre forwards for the club we always had great attackers.
Midfield though could have needed improvement in the last few years. Fletcher got ill and Scholes was getting old.
Anderson too fat and Cleverley not really a world beater.
I wanted a box-box midfielder over getting Van Persie, but can't complain with the short term outcome.

I agree it's not as bad as other places but the level seems to be rising, and I mean that outside (or before) Spurs trounced us.

Fans are rightly aggrieved about performances, results and even the transfer window, but the disgusting way people talk about the manager, players and anyone else in the firing line is way over the top for me.

Honestly, I can remember people chanting 4-4-2 at the dugout and actively demanding Carlos Quieroz be booted out of the club back in 2006 time. Not just on the internet. In person, at games. And that was having gone one, single, season without winning a trophy.

I actually think, all things considered, United fans have been pretty measured in their responses to the past seven years.

We might have stewed and ranted but compare our muted reaction to Sporting fans launching a full frontal assault on their training ground, attacking players, attacking the club President etc.

There are things to be positive about if you want to see them. Most people that I talk to in real life (and before at the games) felt that the club had bottomed out under Mourinho and were now making positive strides.

= No, same thing actually even with the successes Fergie engineered. Some of the criticisms back then is also reasonable, some. Less to moan, but the same degree (Intensity, harshness, etc) of moans/criticisms.

I don't know mate, the alternative is to be like RAWK - delusional hyper positive threads.
Prefer the over critical threads here instead of ^ that.
