Rashford's post-match Interview

Honestly what he is saying is a load of nonsense. Look at the players out there tonight you could count maybe 2 or 3 who actually gave a crap about winning.
Oh, feck off you absolute wallop! He's saying a lot nonsense on camera, whilst, you're, Mancan something on the fecking internet, is giving it the fecking large.. mate.. feck off!

Oh come on. Of course he cared and tried. He had a bad game and he's been off form, his touch was sloppy and decision making was off. Why the feck do people always equate off days/sloppy control/bad decision making to not caring? Such a dumb conclusion to make. It's a cup final, a lot of pressure, sometimes players just don't perform.

This is like those Argentine idiots who shit on Leo Messi after they lose a final. Shit happens. Claiming they don't care is idiotic.

You need to read the criticism aimed at him today and before again. It's not about sloppy passes or decision making. It's about strolling around with a body language that makes Martial seem like Tevez. It needs to be adressed. If that means bench, rest, operation, competition for places etc then so be it.

For the record, Marcus is the one I really want to perform as he is someone we all should be really proud of. And he would be the perfect talisman for our future.

Hes overworked.. playing thru injuries.. you can tell he didnt want to come off either.. hes passionate.. but he needs a rest

That might be true. Just find it odd that he manages to generate so much passion off the field after such a performance. Hope the club can fix it so we can go back to unanimously praising him again.

Just skip the football bit Rashy and go for politics, honestly. That or get a proper rest and a real physio because our coaches are clearly incapable of that.

He's intelligent and all that but he's also shown a real lack of awareness of how football fans feel and assess their team. Absolute shocking interview.

I really don't think he's properly fit. It's either a particularly awful stretch of form or he's not right, or both. That may be part of the reason be is off the boil in terms of intensity and work rate.

Nah I'm fine. I'd love our players to show an ounce of commitment tonight as rashford is talking about but I didn't see many players fighting out there.

So tired of this group of players saying the right things but doing the opposite on the pitch.

Shaw and Maguire say it a lot and to be fair they have been great but a lot of the squad, not so much.

I guess they have to say these things, its part of the job but actually meaning them and putting your heart into every performance would be good.

What the hell is he doing on social media after a game like that? What does he expect? All of them are a gathering spot for some of the most toxic scum on earth. Football players need to get off this social media rubbish.

The next education secretary for the UK - talks a good game Marcus and is a good lad and cares, but that's not enough. Not at this level.

I honestly couldn't care less about his moral compass. Give me 11 assholes with skill and ability to put Villareal to the sword

He's asked about an injury at the end in relation to the euros and says he's doesn't want to talk about the foot, he can't feel it. Very much sounds like he's carrying an injury which was suspected for a while now.

I’m also having difficulty marrying up this interview to a player who looks like he couldn’t give a shit if he’s playing on the right.

His work rate is among the worst in the team.

Sorry but he plays like someone who believes his own hype and interviews like someone who’s had reason to undertake enhanced media training

Good point. Think if I were a player who'd just stunk up a final for 120 minutes I'd probably not want to read any social media for a few days.

Exactly. Just lost a major final and going on that rubbish for what? Social media is a global platform, most of those people probably created throwaway accounts just to troll and be dickheads. Not condoning any sort of that behaviour but what are players getting out of socials at this particular moment.

He's just like us, he's beat up, he cares a lot and he probably feels he let the fans down so he's torturing himself on social media.

Sick of all this bullshit apologies from coach and players "we have to do better" "we didnt turned up" bunch of freaking loosers.

This.

He’s slightly to the left of screen here. He did another interview with another broadcaster after this where he was slightly to the right. He just mubbled a few words and shrugged before Caf members present ran up yelling “leave him alone you’re interviewing him out of position “

He’s been injured since that fateful Wolves game in the FA Cup in 2020. His shoulder is fecked his back is fecked. He needs months off to recover.

Fully agree, I'd love a stat guru to pull the numbers on his running and intensity before and after that point. I think the difference would be noticeable.

People not to be racist.
Expecting people on twitter not do be daft cnuts is like expecting Kim Jong Un to become the next president of south korea. It's just never going to happen everyone knows how toxic social media is even more so if you are famous.

People, even famous people, should be able to use social media without being racially abused.

Has the right mentality but I don’t think he has the ability to be a starting forward in a league & champions league contending team. It would take a brave man to bench him, but I think if Sancho does come in Rashford’s days as a starter should end. He plays badly way more than he plays well. We can’t afford that if we want to progress.
He has the ability when he's focused and fully fit, but he's being played beyond his physical limits and is understandably physically and mentally exhausted.

Signing Sancho or Grealish would give us genuine competition for places and I am confident Rashford has the mentality to respond well to such a challenge.

He really isn't good enough anymore, which hurts to admit because he's a top lad and a brilliant role model for kids. I just think persistent injuries have taken their toll, he's not as explosive or fearless as he used to be.

Well that's not what I'm saying, of course they should but they can't because trash sites like that have very little moderation and the second a few toxic/troll accounts get banned about a hundred new ones are created.

Nice to know the post match inquest ended early enough so players are able to count up the number of morons who send them abuse on social media before bed

Their friends and family may well be sending them greetings via social media.

Talking the talk without walking the walk.

Which makes the talking all pointless. It's easy to say the right things, but have been stinking up the place for weeks now. He's a large portion of 'what went wrong today'. We practically played 10v11 most of the game.

10v12, I think 100% of his forward passes went straight to Villareal.
