That is an interesting take. I´m in a similar boat (in my case it is my given name, though) and I always offer non German speakers a shortened version so they don´t fall over themselves to try (and usually fail) to pronounce it correctly.
What makes it so jarring here is that German (and germanic languages in general) is a far sharper languange than Portuguese in terms of pronouniation and it makes the names sound needlessly harsh.
When was the last time he actually scored one? I barely watch him Juve so no idea if he scored for them, but it seems all I ever see from Ronaldo is free kicks rocketed straight into the stands.
This match shows how big of a loss Cancelo really is. Kimmich/Gosens would not be afforded the luxury of playing so high up the pitch if he was on one of those flanks keeping them honest defensively.
