Day 9: Hungary vs France | Portugal vs Germany | Spain vs Poland

Portugal's margin for further own goals is narrowing, they have to be careful at the back now.

Obviously Portgual hasn't sorted out the issue with the wingbacks and who is responsible for marking them

343 against 4231...... who is the wide forward going to mark and who is the RB going to mark?? apparently in the portuguese system, no one.

Wow. I thought Germany had no chance this tourny but they've been great today. Another indictment of my lack of knowledge. Achtung!

Portugals tactics rely on a solid defence.. their current back 5 isnt good enough for that. getting exposed here .

Says the ronaldo fanboy starting that messi v ronaldo crap in here. Grow up you child.
The post you quoted clearly had the word bait under it yet you dived in like a piranha on the verge of tears to defend Messi. Tragic.

The why don't we sign Gosens thread will be lively this evening.

Ronaldo must have the worst conversion rate out of free-kick takers. Especially considering he's untouchable on taking them.

Tbh as someone with a hard last name to pronounce I appreciate when people try to say it properly, even if they say it wrong. Feel like it shows they're trying.

That is an interesting take. I´m in a similar boat (in my case it is my given name, though) and I always offer non German speakers a shortened version so they don´t fall over themselves to try (and usually fail) to pronounce it correctly.

What makes it so jarring here is that German (and germanic languages in general) is a far sharper languange than Portuguese in terms of pronouniation and it makes the names sound needlessly harsh.

This match shows how big of a loss Cancelo really is. Kimmich/Gosens would not be afforded the luxury of playing so high up the pitch if he was on one of those flanks keeping them honest defensively.

Oh I give Canadians and Americans an easier way to pronounce my name, but when they ask how it's really pronounced I do appreciate the extra effort (but don't expect it because it's not natural for them).

This German team was absolutely shite against France. And portgual are making them like contenders by giving too much respect and space.

Atalanta must be crying watching Gosens being the best germany player this euro
