I know it was wrong without checking, Mata scored goal after 45 passes vs Southampton when Van Gaal was manager.
But why? to be 4th choice and not play? And then Gilmour comes back next season and has another player ahead of him in the pecking order.
I think the club wants Rice and will wait next summer and thats why they haven't made a move for another DM this window.
We played Weymouth in a "behind closed doors" friendly match for the players not involved yesterday....
I don't think anyone would've done commentary, it was "behind closed doors". They're not even telling people what the teams were or who scored, other than a few photos.

No commentary allowed. Chelsea are very strict on what we can or can't say about the game.

I think because of the team that they fielded, even Tuchel was in the dugout. He was very complimentary towards us, which was nice.
The whole experience was brilliant and even the scoreline hasn't filled us with dread going in to our season opener next week. It will feel a bit different going from Chelsea away to Boreham Wood at home though

Fitness, team gelling and confidence I would have thought, plus attitudes. If you have a player that pisses around against us, you don't want to put him in against top sides presumably. I'm only guessing though.
Yeah that's exactly it. I struggled to start with in regards to self promotion, but it is literally just keeping yourself out there and working hard to improve.
Rumours that Bakayoko will be off to Lyon or Rennes in the next few days.

Kante is 31 in March. Jorginho is 30 in December. We have 3 midfielders for 2 positions - another one is badly needed given the increase in niggly injuries Kante has been picking up. And long term, Tchouameni makes a lot of sense next to someone like Gilmour if he makes it.
Again, I'd much rather get him in now than wait on possibly signing Rice for more than double the price. Should be taking advantage of the financial crisis in Ligue 1 as much as possible.
Yes we need that midfield to muscle up a lot. Unless tuchel feel chalobah/James/Christensen could do the job in midfield if needed. We are very thin in that department as things stands.
Well we dont we have 4 because Loftus Cheek has taken Gilmour spot. The board wants Rice though even if he costs more, Utd did the same with Sancho they waited a year when he had 2 years left and got him for cheaper.
Chalobah can play DM.
Saw rumour this morning that Chelsea are looking at Jude Bellingham as an alternative to Rice.
He is a special manager.
Still buzzing at this. He turned a pretty routine win into a very memorable one. I hope Tuchel sticks with him for the tough upcoming games. It's nothing more than he deserves.
They looked good against Palace.
He's on a roll now. He was brilliant in the Super Cup, and he was excellent vs Palace. There will be rotation to come, but it would be harsh to leave him out of the next game at least. I think he's earned his place in team. He played 120 mins + 90 mins in the last 5 days though, so you're probably right.
Tuchel will use him in midfield if needed in my opinion. He played in midfield too I think during loan spells.Very good on passing too.
Read somewhere that he was most passed forward in whole game week with 92.5 % success rate.
Solid performance overall but still lacking penetration in the final third, hopefully Lukaku debut v Arsenal. Last few competitive game results against them not been great... Want Lukaku to take the number 11 shirt and Werner should move to 9, if Tammy is vacating it. That would be appropriate imo.
Be shocked if Chalobah doesn't start v Arsenal. Tuchel is all about a meritocracy and he's be excellent in the last two games. 7 days rest between games so no need to rotate him, yet.
When I say rotation, i just mean over the entire season. With us just doing PL games right now, start who is hot and Trev is on fire. I can also see resting him so he doesn’t feel pressure. Silva needs to play. It will be interesting for sure.

I'd hope he keeps him in there for the Arsenal game at least, then rotate him out when we go to Anfield.

Loans are impossible to confirm. I read the Bats loan pays all his wages and has easy to complete bonuses that will net 2-3 million Euros. While impossible to nail down the exact amount, the loan looks really good for Chelsea.
See a few posts about a new midfielder for Chelsea. Won't the club just go with Chabloah as the reserve midfield and CB back up once all are fit? I swear I remember him playing in midfield in the Championship a couple of years a

I can't see it as likely.
Yup, plus there's various others who could still leave. Not for huge amounts but it all adds up and its money off the wage bill.
Romano is generally pretty plugged in - not sure the reports of €15m are accurate but it does seem likely talks are ongoing.
Something that I think a lot of people would have missed and well worth a watch. It's been out for a while on the paywalled BT Sport site and they uploaded it to the UEFA channel last week. There's a really heartwarming moment towards the end featuring Dave.
